Teen Nutrition

I have a 15 yo daughter who is quite mature for her age physically. She starts school very early and doesn't have an appetite for a morning breakfast.
I would greatly appreciate hearing about various nutrition drinks that she could probably handle at 6:30AM.
She also is sparking an interest in working out with me with Cathe's tapes. I think this is wonderful so I greatly any information that can help me along in educating her keeping her body fit. I, too, am in the learning stage.
Also, any teen nutrition sites would be greatly appreciated.

A cup of hot chocolate made with vanilla soymilk, and a multi-vitamin pill. That's what my 16 yr old daughter gets. Some mornings, she also has a piece of toast with peanut butter and jelly on it. But the liquid part alone is better than nothing.

I don't know about any teen nutrition sites, go on your search for listings. As for the breakfast, what about Carnation's breakfast drinks? Or even a glass of oj with a piece of toast and some pb on it?
I think your daughter wanting to work out with you is wonderful!! My son does with me, but neither of my daughters are interrested. The only thing I suggest is have her use light weights until her neuromusclar coordination is good. Usually 4-6 weeks, then let her up them if she wants.
What a great role model you are for your daughter:)!!!!

My daughter is on the cross-country team, but she uses the upper body portion of MIS once a week or so. I tell her to do it more often, but am happy she does it at all. As far as nutrition, teens need more calcium than adults, other than that, just have them eat as clean as possible. Anyone can contact me privately for ideas. I mostly just trained her early to eat healthy, and dont keep junk in the house, but it has to be easy to fix, like I make bean/cheese burrito filling in large quantities, and she can heat it in a tortilla easily. Or bagels and neufchatel cheese, or whole grain toast and pbj. So far so good. She is 5'8" and weighs 125.

I have a twelve-year-old and between her and her friends, I have seen a lot of the no breakfast mentality! "Did you know eating breakfast is one of seven things you can do to live a longer healthier life?" is one of my favorite questions to these creatures. They don't seem to care and their diets bring despair to my heart! I will wait her out though and continue to push nutritous food at all of them! Let me know if you find something that works to get them to eat! Several of them complain about being fat and they are tiny!

Youth is wasted on the young! LOL!
