Is there any way to get into a laptop with an old password or something? DS#1 has a HP laptop. He and DS #2 were messing around, changing the password. Somehow, something other than what they thought got entered twice, and Voila--password changed. He's tried every combination he can think of to get back in. And, too late, learned about the password protection disc he could have made. Now he is locked out of his files, and more important to him, his pictures. Do any of you tech-savvy people have suggestions?

I'm not home right now so can't see if this will work (also depends on which version of Windows you have). You could try going into safe mode. And if you can log in that way changing the password. You get to safe mode by starting the computer and as soon as you push the power button continually tapping the single F8 key until you see a black screen with choices. You use the keyboard up and down arrows to choose safe mode. Then 'enter' on keyboard.
