Talking about that scale

I have been really frustrated with that darn scale lately.
I have been stuck big time.
Well, good news:::

I put on a pair of jeans that i could not get on 3 months ago and the scale has not budged.
I have been steadily increasing weights. I went to 50 lbs on the squats on gym style (not Lunges) NASTY low ends.
20's on bench and chest.Examples.
Guess the more you lift the smaller you get.Maybe it is true>>>>a
SOOOOOO TOSSSSSSS That Scale...............

Are you with me????????????

Yeah, but putting on those jeans is huge progress! I know the number can be a PITA, but, pay close attention to those inches!

Did you miss the scale tossing party we had weeks ago? Maybe you were weighing yourself...;)

I hear what you are saying but my scale stays with me:) My friend bought me a scale for christmas that calculates BF%,water weight...etc...I don't think she would like to come over here and see my scale MIA:)
But some cheaper ones I have thrown out before so I know what you are saying.

Nope it doesn't tell all, I agree with you. I don't think mine is accurate with my BF% b/c I have capilers that I go by, which I guess is suppose to be better then a scale, right? My BF% is 13.5 and the scale tells me I am alot more then that. Can remember what though..I think I blocked it out! LOL

I used to be a SLAVE to the scale - weighing daily...well last year I quit weighing all together and just started using the tape measure...

It is way too frustrating to see the numbers go up when you know you are following your diet and exercising...it was really doing a mental number on me...

I am much happier NOT weighing...but right now the tape measure is not making me happy either!!!

Hi Judy. How often do you measure yourself? Once a month?? Just curious how long is enough to see improvements, but stay motivated at the same time.

TIA,

Karin

Yep, yep, yep! Scales are notorious liars and troublemakers. Ignore the scale and use it no more than once a week at the same time of day. remember we can flucuate by 3-5 pounds as we eat and drink and experience homonal shifts. Those jeans won't lie though. Nice job!

I use measuring also. I hate the scale and very rarly get on it. I measure every couple of weeks, and I also like to get in my closet and try on all my clothes that haven't fit in a while. I did that just today and got into a pair of jeans that I have not worn in a year. :D I can't hardly breath, but I can get them on and zipped. In another month I will try them again, and probably (hopefully) will be able to wear them comfortably. I have to also say that the number on the scale has not changed much, I have lost about 10 pounds in weight, which does not seem like much, but I have lost about 2 inches off my waist. So I am with the other girls who say throw out the scale! ;-)

I basically weigh now what I weighed before I got pregnant but looking at my body now compared to before I got prego/before Cathe, I see such a difference!!! My stomach/abs are sooo much nicer looker now then they used to be! Imagine that! Better abs AFTER pregnancy!!! I also have TONS more muscle all the way around...yet, I still weigh the same...maybe a pound or 2 lighter these days but that's nothing really...

So you see...scales are useful tools to a point-I will NEVER go scale free, I admit it! I just can't!-but even as much as I use mine, I am seeing more and more how limited they are on the telling the true story! Use them as a gauge but don't depend on them! :+

Hugs!:)
