ITA, Al Gore was pushing for more awareness on environmental issues when it was not a popular thing to do and people kept making fun of him. He seems a lot more comfortable not being a politician.

Al Gore has done more for environmental awareness than anyone in modern history. I don't hold his wealth against him. He's always been a man of means. So what. He's taken his good fortune and traveled the world to make a difference. I admire him completely. I know the country sure would be a heck of a lot better off had he been named to his rightfully earned post as president eight years ago too.

I understand what Dave was saying. The Earth has natural cycles that includes periods of warming and cooling, BUT we may be speeding up the process. He never said it was a hoax.

I would go so far as to say we definitely are making things worse, but that's my uneducated, strictly-an-observer opinion. And no, there is no downside to being more gentle with the Earth.
 
I did

have that beer - 2 actually - and did watch the local high school football game. It was great.

Tonight I get to have another beer and tune in via computer and watch my hometown high school in MI (from Florida no less).

So looking forward to it.

For what it's worth - Carola is obviously a dog lover as am I. Even though we are worlds apart on issues we have one small slice of common ground.
 
I don't hold

anything against Cindy McCain for her wealth either. She has done a world of good for children all over this planet. Her father started with $10,000.

Yeah, but my dogs are socialists and left-wingers, they expect their government to provide housing, food and fresh air. And they can't vote me out of office :p

I never have held Cindy McCain's wealth against her. I don't quite know where that comment came from. I agree that she has done a lot of good, as well. Kudos to Mrs. McBush.

ETA: the dog comment wasn't funny.
 
Poor Baylian, not terribly funny but it was a genuine attempt at humor. Maybe after a few more beers....(although if it is Budweiser it is most certainly hopeless);)
