T-12 (Table 12) Thursday 8/16

Hi everyone.
Well, I thnk I am out of my funk now. Wow, how those emotions can get to you. I was flying so high coming off the roadtrip and then once home I started to dwell on how I'm not where I want to be in my fitness journey and felt like why bother. But I can't let those down times keep me from what I want to accomplish so I need to replace those negative views with positive and just get at it. I really didn't want to get up this morning, but once I got up and started IMax 2 I felt great. I did 1-5 and then shoulder and tricep work.

The other day I was trying to figure out how to do 1 body part a day rotation and kept coming up with too many body parts to fit in the week. I'm sitting there thinking how to people do this? Then I realized I was counting muscle groups instead of body parts. Duh! Anyone else tried 1 body part a day?

Lorrie, I want to wish you luck on your walk tomorrow. We want to see pictures of you in the shirt "105 women strong"

Hope everyone else is doing great.

Jean

Hey, Jean. Glad you're feeling better. I keep thinking about the RT too. I keep recognizing RTers in the store and around town! LOL But the motivation has shot me forward...COME WITH ME!

LORRIE!!!!!!!!!!! I'm EXCITED, GIRL!!!

One body part per day. I'm doing a 'modified' one body part per day! LOL And I've made my 'week' and 8-day week instead of your traditional 7-day week rotation. Check it out:

Day 1: GS Legs & GS Shoulders
Day 2: Cardio & abs
Day 3: GS Chest & Tris
Day 4: Cardio & abs
Day 5: GS Back & Bis
Day 6: Cardio or Rest
Day 7: MM
Day 8: Cardio or Rest
REPEAT

I'm planning on doing 2 weeks of this (or 16 days) and then one week with S&H, then another week with circuits. I figure that should take me to the time that the new workouts will be coming.

I didn't check yesterday's thread to see if anybody else checked in last night. I'll do that next.

My friend (name is Dave) came over last night and left at 2:45am! LOL We hung out with the kids till the baseball game (on TV) was over, then when they went to bed we just hung out and chatted. He's a really nice guy and let me tell you.....I really needed the RT to clear my head and I see things differently that just 2 weeks ago. It will be FUN to see where this goes with him (IF anywhere).

Good morning girls!

Jean - I'm glad you are feeling better. It takes a few days to come down from such a wonderful weekend. I am starting to feel better too! Yes, keep those positive thoughts going. Sound like you had a great workout this morning. Yay! I do one body part per day also. I did S&H shoulders this morning and then did B&G floor work. I usually end up doing biceps and legs on the same day and then try to throw in the B&G floorwork in the middle of the week.

Gayle - Glad you had a nice night with Dave! You have a great plan until the new workouts come out. I just can't wait! I remember you wouldn't look at them on the RT too much but I did and that boxing sequence is going to be awesome!

Lorrie - I'm going to go wish you luck on the other thread. I know your busy today - my heart will be with you this weekend.

Hope everyone else has a great day and checks in to say hi!

Pennie

Hi, everyone! I'm late to the checkin because today was my lasik on one eye - monovision to get rid of reading glasses. It was a complete success, hurray! I'm so glad it's done! I wish I'd done it 2 years ago.

This morning I did KickMax but only 45 min. because it was all the time I had. Loved it.

Gayle, this will be interesting to see how things progress or not with Dave. We'll be listening.

Jean, so glad your spirits have picked up. Nice workout today. I'm sure that helped.

Pennie, I hope you're having a great day.

LORRIE!!!! Your race day is here, and my prayers are with you. I can't wait to read the details. God bless you on your journey.

Have a great night, everyone!
Cheryl

Bye baby girls! It's 4:35 a.m. and I'm outta' here in a few. Wanted to again thank you guys for all your support and encouragement along the way - you ROCK!

Gayle - so quietly excited for you about Dave. Good for you on regrouping - I'll hope if this might be a good thing it will be. One thing I know - you are a VERY special lady and there is a very lucky man waiting to meet you. :)

Jean - I'm also glad you're feeling better. Yep those emotions can be oh so tough. After this weekend I'll be working on getting them AND MY FOOD under control again.

Cheryl - yay for you on that lasik! I've always been interested in it. Keep us posted on the recovery.

Pennie - you're so cool. Thanks for the wishes and support all along - I'll keep you and your sis in my heart as I kick off today.

Amy - where are you? Hope the weather isn't hitting you.

Alicia and Belinda - I think we should work on a T-12 reunion in Germany. What FUN that could be - HA!

Thanks all. Ok - the time I've spent here is when I was going to try for B&G floor work. Guess not. Love you all!

Lorrie

Heyyy, everyone!

Can't wait to here updates from Lorrie... thinking good thoughts all the way through.

The Lasik was awesome. I would recommend it to anybody. I hesitated because of my age (48) but the doctor said he did it himself last year at age 50 and I've heard stories of Lasik being performed on people as old as 75.

I have 20/20 vision this morning that will just get even sharper over the next few days, the doctor said. It was that easy. Very nice to read the mail, read my phone, read the DVD covers without having to scramble to find glasses.

Today's my rest day, I decided. May do something later tonight if DH is gone - he's helping his folks with a house remodel, so if I'm home alone I may go for GS Legs.

Have a great afternoon, everyone!
Cheryl

Cheryl,
That is so cool. Now you said you only had it on 1 eye. Did you only have problems with one eye or are you just able to handle monovision. My eye doctor had me try monovision with my contacts. At first I couldn't deal with it, but now I like it.

Hope Lorrie is hanging tough. Hope it's not too hot for those walking.

Amy, did you make it back home yet? HOpe you had a nice time with your hubby.

Pennie, Gayle, Belinda and Alesia what are you gals up to this weekend? Tonight is probably a movie, maybe Rush Hour 3.

Wish I would have gotten in more of a workout this morning. I took the dogs for a jog. It was humid and I was pooring out sweat, but it felt so good. Had to cut it short though because we had carpet being delivered and I wasn't sure when they would be there. I took the rest of my workout inside and I got in a little back work before the cable showed up(who I forget was coming). Oh well something is better than nothing. Eating is under control today so all is good.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Jean

Hey guys!

Cheryl! I'm so excited for you with the Lasik! I wish I could afford it, but for now I'll have to settle on my contacts! GOOD FOR YOU!

Hi, Jean! I love Jackie Chan, so I'm sure Rush Hour 3 will be hysterical! My 'date' and I watched "I Think I Love My Wife" last night, with Chris Rock. I thought it would be funnier, but it was a good story. He cracks me up all the time!

I can't wait to hear how Lorrie does this weekend! I've been thinking about her all day!

OK...I was up very late again last night and I just could not get out of bed when the alarm went off. I ended up getting my workout in just now....mid-day, which is unusual for me, but I wanted to keep my Road Trip Momentum going. I did GS Back & Bis, and S&H Legs. I'm up to 65 lbs on the barbell for all the leg work in the S&H workout. I'm feeling it already...wait till tomorrow!

2 girlfriends and I are going, this evening, to walk the 4.5+ mile route that one of them has on our relay marathon next month. She's a bit afraid because her relay leg has a hill in it, so I suggested we walk the route just to see the lay of the land. So, I'll also be adding that onto my workouts for the day.

Zachary and I have been alone since last night, since older DS stayed at a friend's house, then went to the friend's dad's company picnic with them. So I decided this morning to make it a special day for Zach, and I took him to the local amusement park and water park. It was fun, until the storms rolled in.....but it was great till then!

BBL to say HI!

Gayle

Hello everyone! Just back from work...

Cheryl - so happy for you on the lasik. I REALLY need to get that done too! I'm going to make it a priority next year before my eyes get any worse. How wonderful for you!

Jean - we don't have any great plans this weekend. I plan on working tomorrow and then Sunday just trying to catch up on everything else. It poured here today so I know what you mean about HUMID! Now they are saying that WE are in the path of the hurricane but it is still too early to tell if it will make a direct hit. I'm going to come evacuate at your house ok? LOL!

Amy girl - where are ya? Having too much fun to check in aren't ya?

Lorrie - been thinking of you all day girl - get goosebumps everytime! Hope you get a good night's sleep and are ready for Day 2 tomorrow. Oh so many of us are cheering you on here!

Oh my gosh Gayle - 65 pds on your barbell? You go girl! That's awesome - I can't get that amount over my head. I still need to check into joining a gym just to do that leg work each week. So glad you had a fun day with your DS and good luck tonight on your walk.

My workout today was S&H triceps and DM cardio. I just love DM!

Quess what guys? My son got a job at a pet store. He works about 3 hours in the am feeding and walking the dogs and playing with the cats and then goes back for 3 hours before closing and does the same thing over again. He loves it! When school starts, he will just work in the afternoon. I am so happy for him - this is his first job!

Gotta go start dinner now!

Love to you all, Pennie

Jean - I just got monovision - my distance vision is fine, but my reading vision has been progressively going to pot.

They make it really easy to afford - offered a credit program that gives you 18 months to pay with no interest. So that's what I did. I'll pay a couple hundred a month for 7 months and be done.

Pennie, the job for your son sounds terrific. Just right for him.

Gayle, your workout is making me tired just hearing about it. 65 lbs???? You go, girl!

Have a great night, everyone! I wonder how Lorrie is feeling right now.....

Cheryl

Hi, Pennie! I love that job your DS got! I'd love to do that! LOL LOVE animals!

As forthe 65 onthe barbell, I can't lift it over my head either (actually, I'm afraid to TRY to lift it over my head), instead I put the bar on my power tower...on the handles for the dips then I get under it and just lift it from there. It's like my own homemade squat rack! LOL

Amy-Any chance you can email me Table 12's mailing addresses and stuff? I'd like to send Lorrie a card after this weekend! Thanks!

Cheryl, glad you got a deal on the surgery. My brother had both eyes done several years ago and was very happy with it. Over the years his eyes have continued to change and he now needs reading glasses, but if he hadn't had the surgery, his current prescription would be so strong he'd practically be blind.

Gayle, glad you had a nice day with Zachary. Tell him and Jacob I said hi.

Pennie, that is so cool about your son's job. I have a funny story to tell that happened when I worked at a pet store in high school. One of my jobs was to vacuum out the bird cages(with the birds still in them). I was vacuuming out a finch cage and they are very small. One flew by the end of the vacuum cleaner and the air flow grabbed it. Luckily I saw it right as it happened and I was able to grab it with my hand before it got completely sucked in. It was like it was all in slow motion. I can still picture it in my head to this day.

We're back from the movie(Rush Hour 3). If you go to see it make sure you stay for the bloopers at the end. They are hilarious.

Jean

Hallo ladies,

Sorry I haven't checked in the last few days! Alesia took over the computer with homework! By the time she got done I was to tired to post! It has been crazy in my house since we came back from the RT Tuesday! We had to buy a new car(Ford Focus ZX3)for Germany, since my van was getting to old( 12 years)! Plus a smaller car in Germany is alot wiser! The parking lots are very small over there! Yesterday I had to get a physical in oder to go to Germany (it's an Army requirment) My DH wants to fly no later than Sept. 15 to Germany. That gives me only one month to get rid of a lot of stuff and get my house ready for my kids! I have to figure out what to bring and what stays! Not so easy! The wives from the Academy want to plan a lunch for me next week, which I haven't given them a day or time yet. On the 29th of this month my DH has his farewell Dinner (me too)! We still have to ship the car next week! Get the movers coming! I am going to be very busy!
Enough with my venting! Thank goodness the house in Germany is waiting for us! All I have to do is move in!

Gayle 65 lb. very impressive! ^^^^^^5 . I can't lift that much over my head! I hope you had fun with your date the other day??

Cheryl I am glad your lasik went well! I have been trying to get mine done but they won't do it (my stigmatism is too strong)! Maybe someday they can fix my eyes! I hate my glasses, but without them I can't see anything!

Penny, funny story! How is your DD doing?

Hi Jean, Lorrie and Amy! Hope I didn't miss anybody! Miss you all!
Belinda

Sorry guys, I'm not trying to ignore you....We got home safe and sound around 1430 Wednesday afternoon....to NO INTERNET!!!

The soonest the guy can come out is tomorrow, so I will try to get the addresses out as soon as I can.....Gayle, I may just end up PM'ing Lorrie's to you for that card then email the rest of them when I have access to email.

No workout for me yesterday, unless you count completely emptying the fridge and scrubbing it out! Between that, scrubbing the floor, grocery shopping, cooking for the entire weekend, I was beat!!! Today was 45 min HIIT session on my elliptical....that's a bear sometimes and totally gets me!!!

I hope that everyone has a good weekend....I'm actually posting "illegally" from work, so SSSHHHHH!!!;-)

Hey, guys. I figured I'd just post on this Thursday thread. Why not, right???

Amy-that's fine with Lorrie's address. I'd just like to send her a card.

Belinda...busy busy busy! Are you looking forward to going back to Germany? Or are you split up between here and there??? NOW GO TELL YOUR DD TO GET OFF THE COMPUTER!!!!!! lol

OK, as for me.

The weather here was crazy yesterday. It went from sunny and 85 to severe T-Storms and hail. lol Wierd.

I finally got to bed early last night. That made for an early morning today, for my workout. Pulled out another oldie...Step Jam and then Ab Hits.

This weekend is quiet for me. I have to cut the grass today and DS has baseball practice this AM. But that's it. My 'friend' and I are taking our 5 kids to the pitch n putt 9 hole golf course this afternoon. Maybe a cookout tomorrow.
