T-12 Check-in for November 11-17, 2007

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
T-12 Sisters:

Happy Sunday! Welcome to a new week! I started the second week of Cathe’s November rotation this morning with Higher Intensity Step. Fun, fun, fun! I thought Cathe forgot to add a blast after the first step combo. It dawned on me this morning that the blast is fun and choreographed and feels like an extension of the step choreography. This is my favorite blast of all time! It took me 3 weeks to recognize it as a blast. LOL! I would love to see Cathe create more choreographed blasts like this one.

I was bursting with energy after the fun cardio this morning, but heavy weight training always makes me tired. I am ready to enjoy a long nap this afternoon. Oh, I am so excited! I can use 20-pound weights for incline presses now. I am sure that is light for most of you, but 12 pounds was heavy for me 3 weeks ago.

I need to do dishes and laundry and grocery shopping this afternoon. Have a blessed Sunday!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good morning Heather....ooops! It's afternoon already, isn't it? HA! I love Sundays! GREAT JOB on the 20 #ers, girl!!!! Rock it! Wait until you experience what all the heavy lifting will do for your metabolism, muscles, EGO, etc!

OK...today marks the halfway point for my 12 week challenge! I cannot believe I am 6 weeks in, and have 6 more to go! I feel like I just started this 12 week challenge. I'd like to share with you the link to my progress so far, at the BFL Tracker site. Now, I'm very modest when it comes to showing skin, so posting progress pics of me was (and STILL IS) very intimidating, but I'd like to share them with you...in case you'd like to check them out. My profile at The Tracker is here:

http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/searchprofile.cfm?id=24459

Along the top of my box, you will see "Progress Log" and "Photos". The Progress Log is where I input my weekly stats, comments, measurements, etc. The Photos tab is where my progress pics are. There are tabs at the very bottom of the page for Front, Side and Back shots. I'm ASHAMED of how the Week 0 pics look....but they ARE the BEGINNING and BEFORE pics, so a gal's gotta start somewhere! But, as I page thru each of the past 6 weeks, they get better and better each week. (my personal note or disclaimer: I do not EVER show my abs in public. I always wear a tankini suit that covers all skin in the mid-section, so to have posted these pics with the top tucked up took a LOT OF GUTS on my part, lol).

OK....kids and I are headed outside to walk the neighborhood for a while. It's actually pretty mild out there. I'll be making a lasgna dish for dinner for Free Day, and I made an apple pie last night. Dave and his kids will be coming over for dinner again tonight. HEY....have I told you gals I LIKE THIS GUY? lol

Later, ladies! ROCK THE HOUSE!

KEEP ON TRUCKIN!

Gayle

Hi everyone.

Heather, great job on the 20's. Isn't progress great? You're getting stronger fast. I only have 20's myself so I guess I'm going to have to invest in some 25 lbs if I want to keep up with you.

Belinda, glad to hear you are settled in. I was reading your post on the other thread about workout spaces. It sounds like you have everything all set up right where you need it.

Gayle, All I can say is Wow!!!. Your six week progress is stunning. You go girl. Your body is just meling away.

All this talk about a getogether/reunion is making me teary eyed. I miss you all so much.

Jean

Gayle, wow, wow, and WOW! Your 6 week stats and photos are amazing. Look at you go, girl! STS results before STS is even taped!  :+
What a nice way to start out a Sunday, seeing your pix. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Speaking of weights... I may have to break down and buy some 30s, at least for those plie squats in the new LB workout. With STS coming, I'm just going to have to buckle in and get tough! }( }( }(

Today was 45 min TM, then the new Boot Camp/Bi's/Tri's. It took the 45 min TM program to warm up and gear my head up for those 12 Boot Camp Cycles. Feeling so good now that it's done. I really love this series.

Jean, we have to set a reunion trip for us somehow. We just have to. Maybe a Texas location??? I miss all of you, too.

Pennie, Lori, Amy, Heather, Belinda - I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend. Belinda, awesome workout today, by the way. You have really been kicking some tail lately. I'm impressed!

Have a great Sunday afternoon, everyone!

Cheryl

Hey gals!

First, THANKS for all your positive comments. I really appreciate all your support! I doubted whether I should share my progress pics to date, but I 110% FIRMLY believe that by posting those Week 0 pics, 6 weeks ago, THAT got me to buckle down and get serious...after I SAW with my own eyes how bad I've let things slip. SO THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for all the good vibes!

I am enjoying Free Day, getting mentally prepared to BUCKLE down and BELT OUT 6 MORE STRONG BFL WEEKS! I'm looking forward to sharing my 12 week FINAL pics....even if I WILL be pale as could be! LOL I'm just too cheap and too worried about skin cancer to hit a tanning salon to prep for final photos! LOL I AM, however, starting to shop for a new 2 piece bathing suit! LOL

OK.....REUNION!!!!! I'd LOVE to do it! Anywhere, anytime. I WILL make the finances work, regardless. I totally feel that a trip to meet up with all of you is worth the money and effort to make it happen. The motivation from YOU GIRLS will just throttle us forward!

OK...sorry to hit and run. Timer is going off for the lasagna! Smells YUMMY!

Gayle

Gayle, there's always the good ol' "fake and bake" suntan cream from the store. Completely skin cancer free! :+ :+ :+ :+ Heh, heh, heh - who wants to get all leathery anyway?

Enjoy that lasagne!

T-12 Sisters:

Blessing my body with an earlier bedtime last night was a good decision. I had a little more energy today. Starting this day with Kickbox helped too! There is nothing like a burst of Cathe sunshine in the morning to add a big splash of joy to the whole day. The cardio kickboxing is fun, fun, fun. I am never ready for it to end, but it is just right for the lower body work that follows. The heavy leg presses are getting easier for me. I modified and started the low-plane lunges from the top of the movement and still felt them. Mercy! Yes, I definitely felt them! I am amazed that Cathe and her girls can start on the floor with heavy weights in both hands. The final round is still my favorite. I have fun playing with the band! I am loving the core work in this one more and more every week. Did I mention that I love, love, love this workout? I was tempted to repeat the cardio tonight, but I am determined to stick with Cathe’s rotation. I am planning to enjoy the cardio premix Friday morning for my optional cardio workout, so I will enjoy it again this week. Yippee!

My cycle started today too. That explains my craving for sweets yesterday afternoon and the blues I was battling last night.

Stretch Max is in my DVD player for tomorrow morning, which is another personal favorite. I am looking forward to recharging tomorrow so I can have fun with Lower Intensity Step Thursday morning.

My boss was out of town today, and I enjoyed a peaceful and quiet day at work. My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow. It is time to enjoy a warm bubble bath and call it a day.

I just ordered my 2008 Cathe calendar! It will be fun to see pictures of Cathe’s first bodybuilding contest and beauty pageant!

Gayle, keep pressing on!

Belinda, it is good to see you again! I am glad you are getting settled in Germany.

Jean, I miss my beloved Road Trip sisters too!

Cheryl, I would love a Texas reunion.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: T-12 Check-in

Good morning, Heather. I think I will follow your lead tonight and bless MY body with an earlier bedtime tonight. Dave was over last night and we watched a movie and before you know it, it's past midnight! lol

How is everybody? I can't believe how these weeks are zooming past. Before I know it, it's Wednesday, which is when my week starts to settle down. Then the weekend comes and goes and it's MONDAY again. 6 weeks till Christmas? What's with THAT?

Right now, I'm trying to financially figure out how to afford a few things.....Christmas gifts, on top of 2 programs Jacob will be involved with: I'm getting him a pass for the batting cages for $125 for unlimited batting time between now and the end of February. PLUS this is the first year he's eligible for Ski Club at school, and that costs $200. YIKES! I hate spending my money before it's even in my hand, and I DON'T use credit cards. So it's going to take some creative thinking on my part to swing it all.

BUT IT'S ALL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! I'm NOT complaining! Not at all.

OK....my legs are wobbly. lol I did PLB, playing with the exercises, and going heavier than ever before (maxed out at 57.5# on the barbell). I started with the leg presses (which are my FAVE, btw), then instead of the static lunges I did the one-legged squats/lunges with the back leg up on the risers, then the squats and deadlifts as Cathe does. Then I added on a pyramid set of leg extensions on my weight bench while re-playing the deadlift section again so I would have Cathe's pacing and cueing. Then I moved onto the glute and outer thigh ball work. OUCH! I could barely get up the basement stairs to my shower! lol

ANYWAY......sorry to ramble. Today is my busy day...cleaning, then school/work, then the Religion Classes after homework. Quiet evening, so maybe we'll go visit my parents or something.

Have an AWESOME DAY!!!!!

Gayle

T-12 Check-in

T-12 Sisters:

I relaxed with Stretch Max yesterday morning and had fun with Lower Intensity Step this morning. I can match Cathe’s weights for all the shoulder work now! Yippee! I am getting stronger.

I was surprised when I saw the New York Times article this morning to say the least. I had no idea that my picture would be published and never dreamed that I would see my picture in the style section of the New York Times. Loving Cathe is a big adventure! LOL! I am so glad I fixed my hair and wore all black that morning. LOL!

I am looking forward to enjoying the Kickbox cardio premix in the morning.

Blessings,
Heather B.

T-12 Check-in

T-12 Sisters:

I had a fun Friday workout. I enjoyed the Kickbox cardio premix. I believe this is the “best of” Cathe kickboxing. I see elements of her other kickboxing workouts in this one. Kickbox is also the first kickboxing workout that gives me a great workout without weighted gloves. I have not even attempted adding weighted gloves to this one. After I complete Cathe’s November rotation, I may combine the cardio premix with the Kick, Punch, & Crunch cardio conditioning premix for a longer cardio option.

I faithfully finished the second week of Cathe’s November rotation this morning with Boot Camp. I have decided that I need a less intense Saturday morning workout. I am tired by the end of the week and have cleaning and errands to do too, so I do not want a workout that wipes me out. Not to mention, I usually stay up late every Friday night. I was dragging my wagon this morning. I gave my all to the cardio and had to push myself to finish the weight work. It was a struggle this morning. I am amazed when I read reviews that this series is too intermediate for some people. The cardio is not as intense as IMAX3, but the weight work is heavy for me! These were my workouts this week:

11-11-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Higher Intensity Step
11-12-07 rest
11-13-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox
11-14-07 a.m. Stretch Max
11-15-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Lower Intensity Step
11-16-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox (cardio premix)
11-17-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Boot Camp

I shared the New York Times article with my hairstylist this morning. She got a kick out of it. I took a long nap after my hair appointment and cleaned for an hour. I did my holiday grocery shopping tonight. I need to plan menus for the other days and do my regular grocery shopping tomorrow. Thankfully, tomorrow is a rest day.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: T-12 Check-in

Good morning everybody!

Heather....congrats on finishing week 2 of the rotation. It really feels good to follow thru, doesn't it? Glad you're basking in the sun of the article! LOL

OK....I'm bundling up for my 7K race this morning. The weather is COLD and wet (snow and rain out there). I'm not usually the one to run in the wet weather, but why not! Right? There's a first time for everything. It may just make me run faster! lol

Quick scale update::: I'm in the 130s, down a total of 16.6 since starting BFL 7 weeks ago! YEAH!!!!!!!!!
