Swimsuit Question...boardshorts

What does a female wear, if anything, under boardshorts? These wouldn't be for surfing, mainly for hanging out at the pool chasing my kids (all three under 5).

I have two pairs of board shorts and neither has liners. I wear a bikini bottom underneath. SO happy board shorts are in style!

Thanks for that...I also bought the full bikini because they wouldn't sell just the top. Someone else told me that they wear nothing...I'm guessing it's personal choice.
