Swim goggles for contact lens wearers?

A shout out to the swimmers out there!

I'm taking a fitness swimming class starting in January. Does anyone know of a good brand/model of swim goggles for those of us who wear contact lenses? My vision is really poor without them, so taking them out is not an option.

TIA

I have contacts & I just bought a pair at the Y because I couldn't find any this time of year! Let me see... they're just called Water Gear. Really any goggles that keep the water out are fine for me! I'm really near sighted and can't see a thing w/out my contacts/ glasses either! Happy swimming!

I just buy goggles with corrected lenses. It's like wearing goggle glasses. A swim specialty store should carry them. You don't have to get the exact prescription -- something close enough is good (I'm at -6.5, I wear -6).

Any pair of goggles will do, as long a you wear them tight to prevent water seepage. When I used to swim, I just used a regular pair from the sports store. And I never had any trouble with my lenses, never lost one in the water, never had interference from chlorine. My 14 year old daughter got lenses this year and swims three times per week with no problems, with regular goggles over her lenses.
