I am sure this has been asked before, but I was wondering if you take any type of supplements along with all the workouts you do?

I needed more energy and a body builder friend of mine at the hospital where I work suggested that I take a protein supplement and an anti-oxidant . I drink a protein shake very day that has 22 grams of protein and I take L-glutamine before and after working out.

I wrote to you once before when I first started my exercise program and had seen you on FitTV, and its been about 5 months now and I'm loving it! I have progressed so much in such a short time! I am the nurse/paramedic/firefighter who was looking to gain upper body and core strength, etc. I have since gotten the entire Intensity series set of DVD's and just ordered Core Max, and I've been working out about 4 days per week rotating between DVD's. I will post this over on success stories but I cant believe how much doing your workouts has helped me in my two jobs and just in general overall fitness. Thank you!

Thank you!

I am 39 years old now, I was already a nurse and I did not become a firefighter/paramedic until two years ago at age 37. When I went to the academy and did the training I made it through mostly due to my determination and that I would not give up because physically it really kicked my butt! I knew that I would need to get tough/strong/fit to get a job in the real world so I began a search for a fitness routine and it took me over a year and I stumbled onto FitTV one day and here I am now 5 months later.

I have been a volunteer for a year with our "big city" fire dept which is I believe in the top 5 largest fire depts in the nation and I have applied to lots of smaller townships to get a part time paid position but its a very hard job to get for anyone, there are so few positions and thousands of applicants and being a smaller female does not make things any easier :)

So I began my strength/endurance training in order to be stronger and tougher and be able to do well on the physical agility testing that you must do to get hired but now I really like working out and I am going to stay with it because I like how I look and feel too!

Wow, that is really awesome. Keep it up - you will get a paid position. You have passion, determination, and now you have strength and endurance - you are exactly what makes a great firefighter. I know I would rest easier knowing someone like you was on my local fire department. :)
