Summertime and your too busy.....

Ever feel like you aren't gonna have time to get in your workout? Me too. I am not a very early AM person. Just so busy this summer! Carla gave me an idea. She uses a backpack and puts in weights for when she does her squats etc. since she can't get the heavy barbell over the head like myself. Well, why not use a loaded backpack for when we do yardwork such as pushmowing? Can be for running errands too...like going to the post office, Wal Mart, etc. No excuses now. Oh, it is gonna burn, but who's afraid? No one here, right?
I am just finishing up my mowing on the tractor and then I will get to the pushmower. Gonna put in a 45 pound plate in a backpack and sweat. Sweating anyhow since it is so hot, might as well sweat like there is no tomorrow...already yucky!!! LOL!

Lugging a 45#er to mow? I can barely pick up my 45# plate to move it over to the other side of the garage because we are painting and sealing the floor. I know that I WILL someday be able to pick up that much while lifting. But right now is not looking like that time. I commend everyone who does Cathe. I had about 5 or 6 of her tapes but sold them because at the time I was being lazy and not getting off the couch and felt that she was too hard. I will be buying MIS and seeing how I do w/ that. I don't even get on the scale anymore. I am going by how my clothes are fitting. I have recently gotten into 2 pairs of shorts that I could not even zip up a month ago. I quit smoking AND drinking soda at the same time. I used to drink 64 oz. of Dr. Pepper every day, and I'm not talking diet. Right now I go to the track and walk, do bleachers, the FIRM #1 w/ Susan Harris and Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds. I do the firm on Mon-Wed and Fri. I have finally made it through the whole workout. I only modify the running because I have too much weight and do no want to hurt my knees. I am very interested in what Cathe's workouts are going to do for me. I"m also going to purchase the Freestyle Fitness book since I found out I can pay for it through Paypal. Sorry for the long post.
 
Charlotte, you are one motivated lady. Just be careful, that weight in the backpack will not be as stable as a barbell on your shoulders. Don't throw your back out!!!
 
Oh my word Charlotte, you are one crazy chick. It is 95 degrees here so I am sitting in my air conditioned house. I am thinking about working out later though.

Yikes! I think I'd drop over dead if I mowed with 45 pounds on! I don't know what it's like there but with the heat and humidity here doing that would be a definate health hazard for me.

I have the same problem with no time. Summer is so busy. I never have been able to combine chores with workouts mentally though. Even when I've worked my butt off in the garden or yard I can't manage to count it as a workout. Maybe because I have the mental attitude that chores just make me tired, not fit. Workouts have a special place in my attitude box :D But you go girl!

I'm mowing tomorrow, although it's only supposed to be 79 here! I think I will load up as well! Of course, our yard is pretty small, but hey, every bit counts, right!!
 
I don't know about the mega plates when I'm mowing but I was doing some pretty serious ashtanga (power) yoga in the garden earlier today planting some perennials from my MIL's garden. Charlotte I'm glad to hear that some one else loves sweating like a horse doing yard work but I'm a townie and I'm sure that the neighbours know me better from my back end than the front with all of the bent over gardening I've been doing in my new neighbourhood!:+ :p
