Happy Sunday Morning Summer Girls!

I was up early this AM and weighed and measured. I lost 1 lb., 1 inch off my chest & waist, and a 1/2 inch off my hips, biceps and calves. So I'm down to 170. It's not much but I'm going down instead of up which can only be a good thing right? I was 176 when I started doing Cathe. Getting out of the 170's is this week's goal.
I was going to start doing freestyle tomorrow w/ my cardio, but I'm going to stick with what I'm doing for a while yet. I and the people around me are seeing a change so I want to keep at what I'm doing that's causing these changes.

I know I w/o a lot, but I listen to my body. I can always modify by lightening weights, or if I'm really tired I'll do my step w/o on the floor. If I get DOMS they're not for more than 2 days so that's a gauge I use too as far as overdoing it.

I made yesterday my "rest day" since I only walked twice. I'm off to do BodyMax in it's entirety hopefully this time. I would not recommend doing it the day after a Bootcamp Party.}(
Did you guys read Cathe's post about the forum members and our teamwork and stuff? It really made me feel good knowing she sees what we're all doing and likes it. So let's keep up our Spirit here in our check in! Game?:7

What's everybody up to today? I'm going to a cookout over the BIL's so I get to test my strength and endurance playing horseshoes again.:7 Or dare I say "show off" my strength and endurance?}( HeeHee.

I went and checked out Cathe's post and YES , I agree 100%! I love coming here and chatting with my new friends. I get motivation on days I am dragging and trying to talk myself out of a workout and also motivation to eat better! Last night right before I went to bed I was wanting to snack on BAD stuff sooooo bad and I kept reminding myself of many of the posts I've read here and got through it and woke up feeling MUCH better than if I'd have eaten salty, fatty stuff right before bed!!!!
The people here are amazing and friendly and very helpful.
Someone is always ready to answer your questions and never make you feel like your questions are dumb! (even when I'm sure some of mine have been!:p )
And Kali, the SAME thing happened to me! DH asked (after the spots were all filled for the road trip) Well, WHY didn't YOU go???? You'd have LOVED that!
YESSSSSSSSS I would have, and I told him about it , but he was just too slow in processing it , and I missed out. Next time for SURE! and I look forward to meeting you there!:)
 
Me too Becky. And good job not snacking before bed! I was just telling DH yesterday how wonderful it is to have this forum and all the wondrful people in it! My sons were eating Doritos the other day and I thought oh just one and I picked it up thought of you guys and did not eat it. I just didn't want it. And that NEVER would have happened if I didn't come here. I've been trying to lose weight and get fit for YEARS and it finally started happening when I joined Cathe and the forum.

Becky, the only dumb questions are the ones that are not asked!:7

Good Morning Ladies,

Kali--I don't have anything special planned for today. It will be a lazy day I guess. (except for my w/o, ofcourse.) Have fun at your BIL's house!

Jessica--I do Winsor pilates. Mari may be like nails on a chalk board :p (well that's what others say about her but she doesn't bother me personally) but the work out is effective if you stick with it. My ab/core strength and overall flexibility improved greatly when I started using her tapes! Do you do pilates? If so, who's?

Marie--ok, c'mon! Tell us how you liked SB/SJP already!!!:7

So today is a full body weight day. I think I am going to pull out the Pyramids. I have not done that one in ages! :)

Have fun w/ the pyramids Wendy. I've decided just to walk again as it works my legs and lets me be alone for an hour! :7

I think Marie has left for vacation already. She was headed to OC MD.

I hope you ladies don't mind me posting here. I just wanted to congratualate Kali on your losing weight and inches! How long have you been doing cathe? I read your posts and I am happy that you are following your goals and doing so well. I feel your excitement in your posts! Although I have no real weight to lose just a a few vanity pounds so to speak you are a true motivater to keep pushing away at the last inch I want off my hips and thighs. Have fun at your BIL and throw them horseshoes hard! I too work out a couple hours a day and some days more so I can relate to the working out a lot. I wish you continues sucess!

Wendy you also look so good after having had Joey! How is the little guy doing?

Becky congrats on the passing up the junk last night!

Thank you so much. You are so sweet. I live for the day I'll only have a few vanity lbs. to lose! LOL:7 I've been doing Cathe off and on since Feb. and consistently now for 2 months or so. I asked one of the wonderful women in here to be my "coach" so to speak and have had nothing but positive results since.:) I never would have believed I could have so much fun trying to get in shape. It has always been a tremendous effort to stick to any type of w/o schedule and eating plan. Now it's like 2nd nature and I can't imagine living w/o it and Cathe and these wonderful women!

I'll be throwing horseshoes for my whole Cathe team today!:7
Hope you lose those last few inches! I think we'll always have those last few inches we want to lose!LOL!

Hey Terri! Thanks so much for the compliment! I have a dreaded 15 pounds to lose though x( or 2 pants sizes..which ever comes first!

Joey is doing great. He is doing INCREDIBLE with sleeping through the night latley. I think he will be spending his first night in his own room tonight! How exciting!!! :7

Isn't walking nice? I love to do that if I get the chance. It's been hard to take walks in NJ lately though with the dreaded heat. x(

I would love to go to OC one day but I have looked into in the past and it's so darned expensive! x( Just can't see spending that kind of money to basically be "down the shore". Ya know? Though I have heard it's a lot of fun...I just can't justify it when you can get a good deal on a cruise and visit 5 carribean islands for the same price or less! :)

Anywho...I'm off. Have some things I have to take care of this morning.

Hi, ladies!

We are not quite gone yet.... leaving in the morning. My youngest and my SO are not really beach people, so we only spend a few days at the shore (my oldest, on the other hand, is a fish!). We are leaving Monday and then heading to Baltimore for Thursday/Friday. I love the Inner Harbor and am hoping we have the chance to do lots of fun stuff.

Kali, congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome. I agree you should stick with what's working for you instead of changing for change's sake. I change up when I am getting bored or plateaued.

Wendy, SB was so fun! I really like the choreography although it was a bit tricky to get and I was doing a lot of rewinding, lol. I did the warmup and the first two combos then switched to the first two combos of PowerMax because I really wanted some heart-thumping cardio.

Today I am hoping to get a full-body w/o in because I doubt I'll be doing much while we are on vacation. I might do the Pyramids, too, or else ME. Not sure yet, the SO and I are running around tyring to get everything ready, you know how that is.

Thanks Marie! I thought you were gone already! 2 weeks today I will be on the beach! I can't wait. I hate getting sand in everything, but I love the ocean so much I put up w/ it. And the boys love it.
So I guess we're beach people. I don't care about anything. I just want to get away from my house and the norm for a week!

Glad you liked SB we've been waiting for the verdict!

Hi everyone

Congrats Kali on losing those inches!!! all you hard work is paying off. you are going to look great on that beach!

Wendy, I have ever done pilates. my roommate has some lotte berk (sp?) method dvds or something and she likes them. I've never given them a try though. for winsor pilates do you need any equipment?

I woke up this morning not feeling too hot - well i felt hot (there is a heat advisory for chicago) but a little weak & under the weather. so i drank my emergen-c and i went to chipotle for a burrito bol thinking maybe i needed to get some calories in my body - it has been so hot i don't want to cook anything and so i just munch on green peppers all day and an occasional fruit bar.

I'm going to take it easy and maybe do some cardio this evening if I feel up to it.

Marie, I'm glad you liked SB, its one of my faves. especially the challenge at the end.

Way to go Kali:) When you lose inches and weight, it's such incentive to keep going. Great job!
Today was SJP (no wts.), I'm trying to ease back into cardio, my calf has been quite sore lately, so I've been taking it easy. The only downside is that taking it easy catches up pretty quick.:-(
I will seriously be working on cardio endurance for Aug. because I will be teaching Hi/Low Classes in Sept. I want the class to try to keep up with me, not me trying to keep up with the class;) .

Kali-Yes, congrats on the inches! You are doing some kick-a$$ work outs so you definately deserve those results and more!!!:D

Jessica-Hope you feel better tonight so that you can get that cardio w/o in! The infomercial set of Winsor pilates I have requires no equipment except for a mat (one you would use for stretching) but I used a towel before I had a mat so it's really no biggie. I also have a separate abs work out that requires a band. I really like pilates and like what it does for me. Plus it's a nice change from cardio and weight work.

Wendy, what other pilates do you do? I bought a $5 set of Carribean Workout pilates but I must say.... I can see why they were only $5!! LOL Can you say b-o-r-i-n-g PLUS all of the pans of the instructors rear-end are really distracting when you really need to be seeing what she is doing, lol.

Anyway, I have been looking and looking but you hear such different things about the different workouts.... which Windsors do you have?

Thanks guys. I had a great time down DBIL's. He and DH were feeling "no pain" when we left a little while ago. I only walked this AM so tomorrow is 1 hour of cardio and I'm thinking UB from BodyMax since I skipped it today. It did feel good to relax tho for a change. I hope I can get into it tomorrow morning. Plus I have PLB tomorrow night as Monday is one of my double days.

I'm psyched! DBIL has a barbell and about 300 lbs. of weights for me! I was going to go buy one tomorrow and I remembered to ask him and he is more than willing to get them the hec out of his cellar! He's also giving me an awesome mt. bike so now I can ride, along w/ walking for some light cardio.

Jess hope you're feeling better tomorrow. I know this heat can take a lot out of us. Just take it easy so you don't overheat.

Marie I was laughing when I what you wrote about Carribbean W/O's. I don't know how many of those workouts show the freaking scenery when she's showing a new step or something you need to be seeing!
Have a wonderful time on your vacation! Walk and do some lunges, squats, tricep dips and crunches! Enjoy yourself and your family!:D

Glad your getting back into your cardio Terri. One day at a time.:)

Well I'm going to watch the rerun of Desperate Housewives since I missed the whole season.
