SUGGESTION for next filming - Cathe!!!!

I am sure I am NOT the only one who keeps screaming NUMBER CHECK doing most of your weight workouts. There are times when you ask Ceedee by then my form is gone (well, at times, not all the time).

So I was wondering just yesterday if it would be possible to have
the number of reps displayed on the screen. Like a counter that tells us how many reps we have done and what set we are working with.

Just a tiny counter at the bottom right of the screen that would go
1/1 and then increase to 1/2 i.e. set 1 rep 2.

Only of course it is not too much trouble coding and financially.

What do you think?

If this type of counter is added -- I'd like to have the option of showing it or not. For me, it is better if I don't know how many I have left :) In my head I just keep thinking, "oh, there must be only 2 more left". But then we just keep going and so I think "surely this must be the last 2". If I knew there were too many left I'd probably stop early. But, of course, that's just me. I'm also the type that can't look at the time on the treadmill or bike displays.

Good suggestion, though. I know some people are motivated by that type of info.

Have a great weekend!

I wouldn't mind having the option for "number check" either. I don't know, yet, whether I'd use it or not, but it would be nice to have that option.

I also like knowing what weight Cathe is using in each exercise. I'm really not the type to keep a written record, but if I know what Cathe is using, I can remember mine in comparison. Most of the newer videos tell the weight for each exercise, so I hope that continues.

No offence intended, but is such a tool really necessary? I mean, after you have done a certain video a few times, you have a feel for how long the set is and can pace yourself accordingly. It becomes so that you know the workouts as well as Cathe does. I think such a tool would clutter up the look of the screen, and so if it were to be included, for the sake of those to whom this would be an annoyance, please let it be on the options only availability.

Sorry, but....

I have to agree with Clare. I don't find I need a counter on Cathe workouts. I personally find that the workouts go very fast as is. I think I would find the counter annoying. Helen

I would think that it would be distracting to be doing an exercise and trying to look at the TV to see how many reps left. I think I would lose some of my focus if I had that.

I have to agree with this as well. Having that on the screen would distract me from focusing on the real reason I'm doing the workout. I love to strength train, and I often add extra reps anyway. I'm not focused on how many Cathe and the crew are doing. I'm focusing on form, and the muscles I'm working. At least if such an option were available, I would hope it's ONLY an option, and one option would be you could turn it off.

I also would not like to have the counter. After I've done each workout a few times, I know the count, even the rare occasions where she misses one. (I add it back in.) I think the counter would be distracting and annoying. But thank you for suggesting the idea anyway. Creative thinking is good.

No, I would not like that counter at the bottom. I find that very distracting. The "option idea" is an option I would consider.

Here's a suggestion for DVD users: Use the display button to show chapter time remaining so you can gauge how many reps are left. I use this all the time. If I see that a chapter for lunges will take 5 minutes (just throwing out a number here), I psych myself up for some hard work ahead. When I see only 30 seconds remaining, I psych myself up again saying "You can make it-it's only 30 seconds".

One problem with this suggestion is that depending on your model of DVD player, the display option can clutter the screen. On our newer DVD player, the display is at the top of the screen but it doesn't show everything at once. That is, to show chapter time remaining, chapter elapsed time, title time remaining, title elapsed time, I have to keep hitting the display button. On our other DVD player, all of this is shown on 1 display but it covers the entire screen.

Hope this helps.
