Stupid Winter Boot Question

Now that it's really cold, people are walking around in those really cute suede winter boots with the shearling and lace-up ties and stuff. I tried on a pair in the store that I loved, but I couldn't figure out what I would do with them. They're so warm, I doubt I would last an hour indoors with them on my feet. Sure, they're good for walking around outside, but who spends that much time outside in the bitter cold? What do you do when you go inside? Carry shoes around with you? They look so cute with jeans. Here's just one of many examples (pricier than I had in mind, but you get the idea):

It's really cold and snowy here in W. Michigan, and you need to wear boots just for walking outside at all. So I have no choice but to wear my very warm boots, since I don't want to carry around extra shoes with me. For the most part, they are quite comfy indoors. The only time I've had a problem has been in this one very warm classroom I teach in for 2 hrs. After about an hour, everything's hot, not just my feet. :) I find myself wishing I had more layers of clothing to shed! We have to open the windows and the frigid air doesn't even help much. So for me, as long as the indoor temps are normal, my feet are not too toasty.

And those boots are soooo cute and they really do look great with jeans. I've been looking for some non-leather ones but they aren't quite as cute as the pair you linked to.

I march around in mine all Winter. Then again, I don't have to go to an office every day, and I live in jeans.

I keep them on indoors too. They're pretty comfy.

I was looking to have my inlaws buy me a pair of the UGG knock-offs for Christmas. I tried on 2 brands and neither fit me right so I am still on the hunt for a pair that will work for me....

Well, I work in an office and generally keep a supply of shoes at work. :D:D (Actually, my co-worker asked me the other day if I was opening up a store:p:p) Doesn't everyone do that?

i'm in mid-michigan and i wear my jcrew wellies every time i leave the house!
rain, snow, or slush - my feet are dry AND CUTE!

Nancy, I would wear them inside for sure! When I lived in Utah I always wore those kinds of boots with jeans everywhere, even to the office.;) It helps when you are the bosses wife of course! :)

Nancy - Why? Why oh why? I've been wanting UGGs but I really don't want to spend the money because I know they're ugly but I really want some anyway. And now you have to start this thread? UGH! :p

The kind of boots I'm referring to are too casual for me to wear to work. They would be weekend boots for me. Like today, I visited my aunt. My feet were cold and wet in the slush while I was traveling there and back, but I spent about 6 hours at my aunt's house. I would have been very hot in boots like that for 6 hours in a heated apartment. I figured I was better off getting my shoes wet than being hot for that long. I passed at least 100 people wearing boots like that, though. Soo cute. I guess I'm just too sensitive to heat to be fashionable. :p

Beavs, I also wear LLBean boots in the snow to do errands, go to the gym and such.

I have to say I really do like them. I also like the boots you pointed out but I fear I am too clumsy and prefer something sturdy and less likely to land my on my arse......so I guess these would be for snow free cold days. ;)
