Mercy! I woke up this morning after my 5K feeling like I had been run over by a steamroller and prayed, "Lord, I could use a little help down here!" I literally crawled to the bathtub and soaked in a warm bath with epsom salt. Thanks to Cathe for that recommendation! It worked wonders! As soon as I was able to stand, I weighed and measured so I could update my Cathe calendar, logged into the Workout Manager to record my weight, and took a set of "before STS" pictures.
The scale lies. The tape measure tells the truth. I lost 2 inches in my waist, 2 inches in my abdomen, and 2 inches in my hips in January but not an ounce on the scale! Rain on the scale! I still ran my first 5K and finished strong! My camera does not lie. I faced the music and wore Nike capris and a Nike tank top for my latest round of pictures. I put my STS tee shirt on and took a few more that are suitable for public viewing. That tee shirt covers a multitude of sins. LOL! I believe STS will transform my body in amazing ways, and I believe I would regret not having a picture of all my fluff at my top weight. I am not posing in a sports bra like the Biggest Losers. Everyone would need dark sunglasses for my glow-in-the-dark skin. Did you know that tan fat is prettier than white fat? LOL!
I skipped Sunday school and was a few minutes late to church this morning. During the worship service, the DOMS started setting in. Oh my word! I am sore from the waist down in places I was sure were all fat and no muscle!
I went to HEB after church for a super-size bag of epsom salt! I was extremely tired this afternoon and enjoyed a long nap. I need to plan my next 5K right before my recovery week!
I made a commitment to start STS on Super Bowl Sunday (which is Super Transformation Sunday for me). I watched the kickoff tonight, put my game face on, and started with the first workout. Oh my! This looked like fun when I previewed it last week. It is fun, but it is hard too. The one-rep max tests are amazingly accurate. I never push myself that hard or lift that heavy when I do Supersets. The workout card told me how much weight to choose, and I had faith and just did it. I had to push myself through the last few reps. I am a morning glory girl, but I trained with all my heart and gave it my all tonight! What a great workout! It was over before I knew what hit me! Cathe does one set of everything and moves to the next exercise, and there is never a dull moment. I am expecting my upper body to be as sore as my lower body tomorrow!
I see that Cathe included IMAX2 on the STS rotation for tomorrow. My legs and glutes may have other ideas! LOL! I am so glad Cathe planned the leg workout for Thursday and not Tuesday!
I peeked in here to read all the sweet responses before I wrap up this day. Thank y’all for sharing my joy. I am hoping to respond tomorrow night after my Zumba class. My Zumba teacher was so excited when I shared my good news with her. She promised me that we will do a victory dance!
I trained hard with STS tonight, and I am looking forward to a restful night of sleep and a fun cardio Monday! My body is tired and sore, but my heart is doing the happy dance and my spirit is soaring on wings like an eagle!
Jerry, I love your new avatar. *wink* Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement and race day breakfast ideas. I have more to share tomorrow.
Blessings,
Heather B.
