Good morning (soon to be afternoon) Everyone! What are you doing for your active recovery day today?

I did my class and made it more cardio based with very light handweights to increase the cardio factor but not overload the muscles. We were huffin' and puffin'. Off to fetch me some chow and dry clothes. I'm still in post class mode and have to "clean up" a bit. Asta!

Hey Cathe! Today I wasn't feeling all that energetic (glad its a rest week!).

I did do the 4DS HIS cardio and then followed that up with Stretch Max w/band. I think I may sleep in tomorrow. I usually don't take rest weeks so I'm not used to all of this flexibility! :) I did yoga the other day and I am sooore.

I just wanted to add that our dog has really been enjoying this week because I have been taking him out for more walks every day. :)

Good morning Cathe and all :D!

I decided to focus on stretching today since I had hip pain keeping me up most the night. I did TBS #1 & #3.

I took it easy yesterday, so I am headed home to do me some IMAX 2 - woohoo!! Love this one. I printed off my cards for the next week and I like to highlight the weights I need, and HOLY CRAP!!! I was chuckling the whole time, thinking - OH MY GOD - are you kidding me?? Next week is gonna be quite a challange.
Thank you Cathe!!! You ROCK!!!
:)

Recovery week is flying by. This morning I did Step Works. Just had a yen to do it, so I did. Combo #2 has some of my very favourite step choreography; love the 360 down the step, the power mambo off the side, into the run on the step, the horseshoe/straddles, the skip along the top of the step into the jumping jack, and the last move when you go over the top, then jump back up and freeze. It all flows perfectly, and seems to have hit that perfect balance between dancy choreography and athletic intensity.

Cathe, in Combo #1, you say something about wanting to speed it up a bit, and sure enough at the start of the next song, the beat is just that much quicker. Did they increase the bpms at that point? What IS the bpm of Step Works? It's one of your faster ones, I think?

I've owned SW since the late 90's, and used to do it weekly for quite some time (When I first did it, I was younger than Cathe. Now I think I'm the older of the two of us). It says something about the quality of the workout that I can continue to pull it out occasionally and still find it fun and challenging. The outfits, the hair, none of that matters; I've got too much sweat in my eyes to see the tv much, anyway!

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi Cathe & Friends !:)

I haven't been sleeping well, and didn't have a lot of energy this morning. I chose ALLSTEP from CTX. I love that one, but couldn't BELIEVE how it whooped me today !!! I guess the lack of sleep is hurting me. I enjoyed it, as always but was breathing HARD and even skipped that blast at the end.
Today I've been outside allllllll afternoon. It's in the 70's and sunny:cool:, and I've been doing yard work.

I feel like treating myself to an iced NONFAT mocha from McCafe. I've actually never tried one before but it sounds good ! Anyone had one ??

Hope everyone's having a great day!

Becky

Hello Everyone,

I took a true rest day & didn't do any exercise other than a short walk outside. It's been nothing but sunshine the past 5 days! A rare treat here in the Eifel region of Germany. It usually is overcast & rainy. So, just having true sunshine has been rejuvenating!

I'm planning some cardio tomorrow. Until then, have a great day!

All I did was a stretch routine today. My body feels exhausted. I ran 4 miles on Monday and since I've had a rather annoying strain pain in my left shin--so cardio based work is out as I don't want to make it worse.

A recovery week was definitely needed and my body is responding well. :)

I was feeling a little IMAX 2ish this mornin'. But, since it is rest week I opted for the 1-5 premix. I wasn't ready for it to end! I was laughing at myself hopping on one foot! What a great time.:p
I am so thankful for the sunshine...soaking it up with the kids today and some more bike riding. My obliques are feeling all those mermaids I did yesterday from the pilates based abs. I'm starting to miss my old friend DOMS....but I'm thinking he'll be back next week.

Wednesday

I had originally scheduled Cardio Fusion (no premix) for today, but Ol' Miss Mother Nature paid me a visit so I had to go with the Premix #1 for 48 min. That still wore me out. I otherwise spent the earlier part of the day sitting outside watching my son ride his tricycle and taking pictures of him and the dog. I did have a couple brewskies  last night in St. Patrick's day tradition but didn't overdue it.

Good evening everyone! Today I did the Timesaver Cardio Premix on BM2. I LOVE that workout! I can't believe how quickly this rest week is going. Enjoy the rest of the week everyone.

Carrie

BM2 cardio premix for me today, and I threw in 3 Imax2 step and blasts.

All your recovery week workouts are great and food for thought for the rest of my week. I only wish it were a bit warmer here for the outside stuff. Back to the 40's tomorrow apparently.

Good nite.

Hi Everyone,

Too tired to log on last night and had to watch Lost :)

I did 45 minutes of urban rebounding mid-day, then STS stability ball abs and stretch max III (I didn't wind up doing the latter on Tuesday, so I made sure to get it in yesterday).

Today was a great day for me. I left work early, pick up my kids and went to see a movie. Then I came home and walked on the treadmill while listening to my IPOD. Great workout!!
