STS Pyramid 10/10 *October Invite* (all welcome ;) )

Hello all!!

Today is going to be the upper body portions of High Step Challenge...we'll see how that goes. I know it doesn't have an upper body premix so there will be a lot of skipping...Yes, I believe a Kiki challenge is due here as well. :p I feel the muscles that I worked the day before usually the next morning when I get up but beyond that not much. My lats typically feel the pullups though for a longer period... I can't believe I nearly collapse getting thru all the pushups on my toes but am not sore the next day? Hmmm.... Anyway, I think this is great that we are all "upping our game!" :p Thanks for the motivation Kiki!! :D

Kiki -DOMS again! You rock!! I workout at home. I get everything set up before I leave for work in the a.m., typically skip the warm ups or just do a little, hit it, very quick shower if needed then head back. My boss is way flexible so my lunches tend to run long on workout days. I am very fortunate to have that flexibility and it only takes me about 8 minutes to get home from work.

Tracy - Hope you were able to squeeze in the cardio...sometimes we can only do what we can do! ;)

Steph - How's the upper body feeling today??

Regina - Hope all is well with you!!!

Have a fantastic day!!

Natalie

Wow, Natalie! Aren't you the efficient one? ;) That's really nice that you have the flexibility to be able to do that.

Hi Girls,

Plyo legs today...I liked this 2nd week disc a lot better. Or...is it that I got a little stronger from last week? JK ;)

Yes! The KiKi challenge is in order. Bringin' on the heavier weights.

Steph, I could definitely go heavier w/ back but I w/o at home so I'm limited on heavy weights. I need to get some 30's and 35's but their so dang expensive. I use wrist weights w/ my 25's to get me up to 30 but they are pretty cumbersome. With shoulders I'm lifting as heavy as my arms can handle but still never any DOMS. I get them in tris and bis but never shoulders  Thanks for the motivation, I might go down to the weight room at our neighborhood pool and just see how much my back can handle.

KiKi, Shoulders are weak for me too. And you're right, nicely defined shoulders are what make the arms look so good. I've heard 4DS is really good.

Natalie, that's so cool you can get the w/o's done on your lunch hour :)

Hope you all are having a great Thursday :D

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I did STS M1W1 legs and Intensity. Omg, forgot how "intense" it really was. Sweat was pouring off of me when I was done, loved it! Today was my long run day. Tomorrow I will repeat week 1 again. I started STS over and I am trying to do the 6 month rotation and do it 6x per week, as much as I can, we will see how that goes. I know the M2 will increase muscle size and that M3 will build strength but what kind of changes in my arms am I looking for in M1? Will I see anything different?

I need to get to bed. These long run days really fry my brain. Hope everyone has a great workout tomorrow.

Regina

Happy Friday all!! Boy am I happy to be able to say that...although it is going to be a busy weekend!!

Got up early and did the Pyramid HiiT. Felt good. Had to fit it in before work so I can get my gray hairs colored over the lunch hour. :( Gotta do pullups/pushups later... Looking forward to last three workouts in Meso 1 over the weekend/Monday and seriously need to get to the stairs!! Race isn't until February but I registered this morning and have re-ignited my excitement!!

Regina - Holy crap! STS Legs and Intensity! You are my hero! :p And you are doing STS 6x per week?? Wow! I bet you are tired at the end of the day!

Tracy - I'm going to go with you are stronger in week 2! ;) Way to go!

Kiki - How are the biceps doing? Were you able to do back/tris yesterday?

Steph - How are you??

Ok, back to work for me!! :p

Have a great day!

Natalie

Good morning all!

Today i am off to the gym during my lunch break to do chest and back..keeping up with the kliki challenge..don't have a bench chez moi..soo...

I am going away to a teacher training on monday and tues so i am trying to get all my stsing in this weekend..so..chest and back today and legs again tomorrow..or maybe i will try the squats at the gym after my chest...i don't have the squat rack dvd but i did print out a card so maybe i can give it a try as well as the plyo legs:confused: we'll see

Natalie: i am blessed not to have greying hair..I am 40 and my dad who has the same coloring as i do only turned grey in his late 50s..yeah for me..I have promised myself if i can lose 2.5 pounds (they have been around forever) that i can recolor myself with blond highlights...i am a filthy blond and do look better blonder..i am also tossing around the idea of a Jamie everson type of haircut...i have the same face shape so it wouldn't be to awful...just hard to think about giving up the ponytail!

Hi Y'all,

Finished up M3, W2 today w/ arms. I can't believe I've got two weeks left before I start the pyramid down.

Regina, I 2nd Natalie...wow on doing STS Legs and Intensity  All you ladies are so motivating and pushing me to go further...I love it!

Natalie, I don't think I've asked you, but what is the stair race? I know it's gotta be intense.

Steph, I think you should go for it w/ the Jamie haircut...so cute! I know what you mean about giving up the pony tail though. I go back and forth between short and long hair and love the option of pulling it up. But so many of the short haircuts are pretty awesome :D

Hope y'all have a great weekend,

Tracy

A little over two hours left in the work day...I can do it!! I know I can! ;)

Steph - How did chest and back go? And did you work in some squats? Who is Jamie Everson? I have never had short hair but you are right there are some super cute ones out there...I have had to color my hair now regulary for about 10 years and I am 37. Ugh!!

Tracy - Stair climb race - It is for the American Lung Association. There are two ways of racing. There are 32 floors in the hotel in which we race and it is straight up. There are two ways to do the race...can do the Ultimate which is to see how many times in one hour you can do all 32 floors or just the regular race to see how fast you can make it up once. I do the later...no sense in torturing myself! :p Anyway, last year I placed fourth overall in the women's bracket and 3rd in my age group. I totally plan to take 1st this year so I am training way in advance and hard. It is tough not only because of the stairs themselves but the air quality in the stairwell is really poor so by the time I get to the top, the lungs are burning!

Later alligators! :)

Natalie

Well back from the gym...it was a ped day at work so i played hooky for the last half of the day:p (not really that hooky since i was in at 7:30 am though)

ok..so i i did the chest and back from meso 3 week 3...yeah...2 more weeks to pyramid down... and...yup i did it...SQUAT RACK as well...i has a guy at the gym make sure i was doing them right..is it just me or do you squat less when you are doing the front squat?? Now i did not go super heavy since it is the first time i did them..ever..(85 but only 55 for the front ones)

I followed up by the alternating weighted plie squat 4*8 with #40 because i had to kill an extra 30 min before going to pick up my son at school and i also did 6 sets (of 8) of assisted pull-ups (wimpy weight there..i was seriously fried..seriously) 3 with wide grip and 3 with narrow

I was totally wobbly and fried like..i hope i can move tomorrow...I was at the gym from 12:00pm until 2:30:eek: All i have left for week 3 is the shoulders and arms....hopefully if i can move by sunday i will get them outta the way..

now as i write this...even my fingers are tired;)

Natalie...hope you make it until the end of the day..

ps...do you gals ever use a pedometer?
tried one at work yesterday , started at 8:00am and by 1:00 pm i had already done 11000 steps..is that normal? I am a physed teacher btw...

Holy neck doms batman!!!!

I must have tweeked something in my neck yesterday during my marathon at the gym...my neck is sooo sore

No doms for the legs to report as of yet...maybe i din't squat enough..
of to do a shopping marathon...my in-laws took the kiddos last night:D
I have the day off to shop to my hearts content!

Can i count that as cardio;) takes a lot of endurance to go from shop to shop for a bunch of hours ..right? too bad i left the pedometer at work!

Hey girls,

I am still here and working out hard:p My internet is always down, remember I am working out in an RV. The campground WiiFi is awful here. I am almost done with M2, next week I will start M2 W4.I pinched a nerve in my shoulder on Wednesday, still need to get D21 in before Monday. My plan is to do cardio (a run?) today and finsih D21 on Sunday.

I also ordered Cathe's Turbo Tower, the weights are gettting to heavy without a squat rack. I had a hard time on Monday bench pressing over 70#:( I don't want to dropped the weight on myself! I am still working out in the RV, can't believe I got this far:eek: but I did.

Steph - hope you neck feels better soon. Take it easy, girl!

I will catch up with the rest today or tomorrow.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone!!
Looks like everyone is really "going for it"- I love the challenges and seeing what everyone is doing. I completed Meso 2 Week 2 this week. I subbed leaner legs for the triset leg workout because I tend to get too bulky in the legs in this phase. For week 3 I will go back to leg trisets but go lighter than recommended on the weights. I have noticed my lats are really starting to bulk also, so I may back off on some of the chinups and weights on the rows. I love STS and the feeling of accomplishment after each workout. Cathe truly has taken the guesswork out and it is nice to have all the weight numbers ready in the workout manager.
I am excited about the new releases- she previewed some of Athletic training and the Barre workouts at the RT this August. I hobbled out of the barre workout and felt the burn the next day. I didn't order the downloads this time so I will have to wait for the DVDs to arrive. It will be interesting trying to figure out which ones to do while doing STS. Thank goodness my rest week is 2 weeks away- I know I will be doing whatever workouts I couldn't get to while in Meso 2!

Hey girls!

I finally got a minute at the PC to check-in. (I'm usually peeking in from my phone, but not replying ;) ). I did finally get in my back/tri w/o and also did legs (disc 9) on Fri. Oh my! legs have been fried all weekend, after that one. I was worried about a negative response I felt I was getting from my Achilles on that one, but I felt ok today and did a quickie w/o (yesterday was rest day). Today I did the warmup and abs from PUB, and the Hiit from Intensity. It was just enough to get me moving, but not too long or hard on my achilles, so I'm hoping tomorrow will be all good, and I'll be ready to go for Disc 10.

Natalie: I'm sure you're gonna kick bootay in that race! Good idea to start training now ;)

Steph: Hope that neck DOMS has settled down (and the leg DOMS has kicked in :p). I think that's cool that you're a PE teacher. What grades do you teach? And BTW, how was shopping madness? Any good deals out there?

Tracy: Hopefully your shoulders will be stronger when you finish STS. It really helped me w/mine ;) .... I get excited every time I hear about your arm w/o's, lol. I can't wait for M3, it's my FAVE! (In case I haven't said that 100 times already, lol) Especially the arm day! I get so excited about it that my DH is excited for his first day of M3 arms tomorrow, lol. It's contagious :D

Belinda: I still tip my hat to you for doing STS in a mobile home. I'm sure you're gonna love the squat rack. Especially w/you benching that much! you go girl! I hope your shoulder is feeling better, and you were able to D21

Brenda: I'm so excited about these new w/o's too! I'm hoping that they'll arrive in time for my recovery week, too (a week from tomorrow). Other than that, I'll be working them in w/STS, too, so looks like we have to get creative, girl! We got a sneak peak of the w/o's at the Disney RT, too, so I already know that I'm gonna like Athletic Training, and I'm SO excited about the Barre w/o!!!

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Yesterday my workout consisted of lugging in 25 rolls of insulation from the garage to the second floor then up a ladder to the attic. Not your traditional workout but it was a great glute workout - definitely feeling it today. Today I will do STS disc 2 and do some speed work for running - though I don't know why, I just never seem to get any faster but that's what the calender says to do so I'll give it a try. BTW, I also want in on the Kiki challenge - your arms rock!

Tracy - Definitely agree that being in this group pushes you and motivates you. I know I definitely try to work harder now - plus I want those Kiki arms .

Belinda - I agreed kudos to you for working out in an RV. That is definitely dedication.

Kiki - Everyone says disc 9 is a killer. I must have forgotten or blocked out how bad it is. :p Hope your Achilles is better. It stinks when you have a nagging injury.

I'm so excited to get the new workouts! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe I will get them today.

Have a good Monday.
Regina

Good Morning!

Today is Disc 10. Just finished drinking my coffee and trying to get myself psyched for these pushups, lol. I can't believe I'm in the last week of M1 already, I swear it flies by  . I was just thinking that I could celebrate after this wo, that the pushups would be over for a while, but I keep thinking about all the previews of the new wo's that I've seen and many of them seemed to contain puhsups, too  ....I haven't rec'd mine yet, though, so idk how intense the pushups are in them.....

Regina: Nice wo, yesterday. Those are always the best kind for me, killing two birds. From the looks of my backyard (which is like a forest  ) I have a feeling that Rake Max will be on my wo rotation soon.... As for Disc 9, I never thought that it was the killer that everyone reports either, I didn't remember it being any worse than the others, my stupid Achilles just has been touch and go since the RT. Makes me sad to have to hang up some of my fave wo's for a while :( , but since cardio was never my strong suit, it kinda gives me an excuse not to do it  ....rofl :p Besides, it made me give CRAZY focus to my upper body (vs my legs, as I'd been doing), and hence I've been able to see development in my upper body that I didn't believe was genetically possible (I'm like, textbook endomorph, "soft" /undefined bodies run rampant in my family.... )

Happy Monday!! :D

Today is Disc 11 - Back and Tris. Did 10 and 12 over the weekend. Also went on a short run on Saturday but was kind of tired after helping a friend move some stuff around Saturday a.m. so I didn't have a lot of energy for that. Didn't make it to the stairs on Sunday either...:( that is bad, bad, bad!! Tomorrow is a rest day and I am hoping that by Wednesday I have the new series in my hands! Cannot wait!!

oh...just got handed some work...bbl!!

natalie

Mailman just dropped of my pkg! Yay! Bummed that I worked out already, lol.

On that note...Disc 10, done!

Tomorrow....Turbo Barre, baby!!!!

Yay for you Kiki! I hope mine come today!!! Although tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day...will be hard to resist if they come today. :p

I did most of back and tris today - Disc 11...didn't have enough time to get thru it all but my tris were so tight when I was done I could hardly change my clothes! Sheesh!! I will finish the rest tonight and then I will be done with M1!! My fave is 2 so I am way excited to combine meso 2 and the LIS.

Kiki - Good work on disc 10!

Regina - Anything that makes the glutes sore is great in my book!! :p Way to go!

Steph - How's the neck?

Belinda - It's good to hear from you!! Keep working it!! :p

Brenda - Thanks for the info on the new workouts and what you experienced at the RT. I think the barre workout will be the first one I go to...especially if I get to try one tomorrow...

Have a great day everyone!!

Natalie

Hallo girls,

I did LISCSS (Low Intensity Cardio Super Sets + the bonus, which I couldn't find in the WM). It's more like a circuit workout, was pretty good! Got a good sweat. Hopefully the turbo tower will come in before Wednesday, those weights are getting a little heavy.

Brenda - are you doing the 3 or 6 month rotation? Which one of the new workouts did you do?

Kiki - be careful with your achilles, girl! Thanks for you kind words, lol! I got to post some pic this week. Good job, on D10 today. Yeah, on the new workouts.

Regina - thank you! I wished I had my workout room, but the RV works, lol!
How are your glutes today?

Natalie - nice workouts this weekend and D11 today.

Have a day, everyone! I will be back.

Hi Girls,

How is your week going? There sure is a lot of excitement on the forum about the new series :D Did you all pre order? It looks like I may be the black sheep since I won't be receiving it. I asked my hubby for it over the summer for my bday in September and I got jewelry instead (not that I'm complaining). He won't tell me if he did indeed order it though. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he ordered it and I'll get it for Christmas...maybe since it wasn't available in Sept he improvised w/ the jewelry?? Hoping, hoping. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading how everyone likes it.

I got D31,chest and back done today and did cardio and abs yesterday.

Belinda, I need to order the turbo tower too! Getting up to 90%/1RM today I was feeling I needed a little assistance.

Natalie, I've been getting some good DOMS in my tris too...love it!

KiKi, how was Turbo Barre? It looks awesome from the previews I've seen.

Regina, wow I bet hauling that insulation gave you a great w/o

Brenda, I agree...the feeling of accomplishment when finishing an STS w/o is priceless :)

Steph, hope your neck is feeling better. I jumped out of bed yesterday & did something wrong and tweaked mine but thankfully it was better later in the day.

Have a good day :)
