STS Music Questions

Chris:

I am curious about the music for STS. Will it be instrumental since it is being created by musicians to follow Cathe instead of Cathe following the music? I hope so as I find vocals distracting during heavy weight work. I turn the music off during the weight segments of 4-Day Split and would appreciate a “voice only” option if the music will have vocals. Will y’all be filming without any music and adding it as part of the editing process? STS sounds like a big adventure! :7

I am looking forward to seeing the new set! :)

Blessings,
Heather B.

The music in STS will all be custom and instrumental as you mentioned since vocals would very distracting for this type of a workout. We will normally film without any music, but in a few cases we may play a little background music if Cathe feels she needs to hear a beat. The music will be laid down after the workouts are finished and edited so that the beat can follow Cathe. This is necessary in a workout like this as the rep speed will change as Cathe and the crew approach failure in a set. This will all be done at NFL Films “Abbey Road Recording Studio” by some of the leading audio experts in their field.

Oh, that makes me sad that their won't be any vocals. I don't find the vocals distracting; I find them motivating. If it's instrumental, I hope it isn't that repetitive techno-elevator-pounding beat like in Body Max 2. Not to sound like my dad or anything,:) but that music gives me a headache. It really does.

I only like vocals during the post workout stretch. As long as they're not distracting vocals post-workout only kind of signal to me that the tough part is over and now I can chill... In GS Legs I always like that part where the female voice sings about the stars falling... nice.

STS Music--Thanks

Chris:

Thank you for responding to my questions. This sounds great! Instrumental music will be perfect for heavy lifting. I am looking forward to hearing what your musicians add to this project! Best wishes for your set construction project this weekend! :)
