STS Body Rockers week of September 4th

Zbridget

Cathlete
Hello gang

Usually Sunday is a rest day for me, but because I did very little last week between my cold and hurricane, and because STS legs kicked my dupa yesterday, I felt the need to do something, so I did Cardio & Weights from the Intensity series. I felt so discouraged after STS yesterday, now I feel vindicated! The brief weight sections were a great way to make up for a lack of weights this past week, and I was delighted with how well I kept up with the cardio- impact and all. I was even able to pull off a few pushups-pyramid-side planks before falling to my knees, then picking up the last two again on my toes.

Perhaps I will try Intensity tomorrow after all. There was no spinning last week at the Y- maintenance was planned, but because there was no power, they will be doing the maintenance this coming week. I will have to rediscover my Cathe cardio workouts.

Wendy- hope your are making out big at the casinos! When you return, tell us which ones you went to

Kris- Hooray for feeling better! I'm still a bit coughie, but better- I can sleep through the night without codeine- that's a plus!

Katie & Kiki- enjoy your holiday weekend!

Bridget

Everybody must be enjoying the holiday weekend, because you all are not posting on here!

We have no plans this weekend- vacuumed the walls & behind the furniture this morning..

Also, did Intensity- and only did about 40minutes of it- it really is intense, I had to low impact lots of the moves (I'm looking forward to that low impact series!) maybe next time I can do it in its entirety.

take care!

Bridget

Hello Ladies.

Back from the casino (Resorts). We lost but had fun. I worked out sat/sun while away. Nothing yet today but might squeeze in something later. DS starts school tmrw so I'm busy washing his school clothes along with unpacking, food shopping and picking up around the house. I am nervous about the first of school and my son is totally cool with it! He's excited even! Go figure!

So my new rotation for the next month will be a mix of BBL, Tonique and BR mostly with extra cardio and u/b put in as needed. I am focusing on my backside since it is drooping a bit since I lost the weight. :( I want to perk it back up! ;)

Gotta run for now. BBITAM though!

Cheers!

Hi there ladies :)

I did Rhythmic Step yesterday:) Unplanned rest day today - had unexpected family company - so will do last STS Legs tomorrow.

Hi Bridget - Hope you're 100% soon - glad it's better though. Great job on C&W, I know what you mean about gaining confidence.:) Great job!

Hi Wendy - Awesome workout for you too:) Glad you had fun at the casinos/resort:)

Hi Katie and Kiki - hope you had a great weekend. (Congrats Katie on OSU win:)

We have thunder here! Holy schmoly, it hasn't rained for a while - maybe it will:) Always hope we get rain but keep power though:)

Have a great night everyone!

Kris

Hi everyone!!

I hope you've had a fantastic holiday weekend! Mine has been great so far. The game was wonderful but OMG it was HOT HOT HOT! It was in the upper 90s, sitting the full sun, ROASTING at the game. It did put a little damper on the fun but OSU won, the new quarterback did a great job, and i'm happy with the defense's performance. :) Okay, i'll quit talking about football now before Wendy throws a shoe at me. ;) :p

I did sneak in a few workouts this weekend. Saturday I did a 30/35 minute HiiT run on the treadmill. I started with a 5 minute warm-up, then a 5 minute jog at 5 mph, then 15-18 minutes (not quite sure how long) of alternating 1 minute jogs at 5 mph with 1 minute to 30 second sprints ranging from 7.2 mph and 9 mph and then ended with a cool down. Fun stuff! Yesterday I did a mish-mosh of workouts that looked something like this:

SJP warm-up
SJP step segment (8 in step)
Step Blast challege (8 in step)
CCC functional core
SJP planks
SJP cool down
Namaste Yoga - Firebird sequence

Overall it was about 65/70 minutes and felt great! Today I did Terminator: Gauntlet + BC Core only premix. I about died a few times but I survived. :)

Kris: Good choice with Rythmic Step! That's a goodie. Yay for the unplanned rest days. I tend to get upset when that happens and need to learn to go with the follow. Visits from family sound like a good reason to rest! Thanks for the congrats on the OSU win. Much appreciated!!

Wendy: So glad you had a great time at the casinos! Your next rotation sounds like fun! I'm sure you'll be "perked up" in now time. ;) I hope your son has a wonderful first day at school! That's so cute that he is excited. Love it!

Bridget: Great job with Intensity! That one is sooo tough. I've got it on the "menu" for this week too. Great job pushing through it!!! There's nothing wrong with being a Bills fan, but I do understand your pain. I went to law school in Cincinnati, OH and tried to become a Bengals fan and just couldn't do it. I'm a Colts fan at heart. :) I have never been to a NFL game and my DH has promised to take me next year. I'm already counting the days!

Kiki: I'm very glad to hear your achilles is on the mend. and YAY for leg DOMS. WOOT WOOT! ;) :p HAPPY (BELATED) ANNIVERSARY! I'm sorry the lack of electricity put a damper on your day. Maybe a delayed celebration? High Five to your DH for sticking with STS through Meso 1! Maybe the changes in Meso 2 will be enough to persuade him to keep it going for awhile longer. Fingers crossed!

Good Morning!

A quick check-in to report I completed KPC this morning.

I'm a little disappointed in the lack of news about the low impact series in today's newsletter. BIGH SIGH. I WANT IT NOW! :p :D

Have a great day ladies!

Katie

Morning.

No work out last night. Had a half a glass of wine and went on a cleaning frenzy instead...

This morning though I jumped rope for a warm up and then did the squat segment of Tonique Premier + a burpee/mountain climber combo: 10 burpees, 25 mountain climbers, 10 more burpees, 75 more mountain climbers and finished off with 125 bicycle crunches. Short and sweet. Kicked my azz!

Kris:: Good job with RS. Oh I hate unannounced visitors. Especially those who interfere with my work outs!!!!

Katie:: Nice mish mosh! I see I've taught you well! ;) Sent DS off to his first day as a 1st grader without a hitch! He marched right in like a big boy! He was excited! :D

Started Meso 3 this morning- I bought those #20lb dumbbells I have been dreaming of and using them this morning was dream come true. I have had #10 plates for my barbell forever, but rarely used them never on the barbell, but hugged them doing abs, high step ups... This morning I added them to my barbell and benched #35, and deadlifted #40! I cannot believe how much strength I've gained- I've been doing workouts with weights since the Firm in the 80's, and never went this heavy, and liked it too!

The spinning room has opened up at the Y again! I've signed up for tomorrow's class- woo hoo!

Wendy- I don't know what a burpee is, and I don't think I want to know!

Katie- The Gauntlet? my hero! That is on my post STS calendar!

Kris- Rhythmic step is an oldie but goodie! You're making me want to blow the dust off of that one.

Hi Kiki!

Bridget

Hi there ladies:)

I did Disc 35 this a.m. ! Can't believe I'm going to be done with STS tomorrow! This morning's workout went great, felt great, feeling my hamstrings tonight - not sure which one hit those ones so hard, haven't had DOMS with the Plyo legs up til now - yay Low body DOMS.

Bridget - Great job!! Love your strength gain, and yay for you with the 20 lb dumbbells - that's might top db weight too, never know another round and we might be picking up those 25s:eek:

Wendy - Awesome workout! Yeah, I stressed for a minute when I realized my routine was going to be altered, but it's kind of good for me - everything didn't go as planned, but I got right back on track. :) I enjoyed my company and felt great this a.m. when I got back to plan. Previously, an alteration in plan might have really thrown me - I'd figure I'd not been perfect, so why bother, but I'm doing so much better now - yay:)

Katie - Great workouts for you! Way to go getting them in while away - go you! Glad you had fun at the game - sorry about the heat though:(

Hi Kiki:)

Have a great night everyone:)

Kris

Bridget:: Hope this answers your question! :) Fitness - Boot Camp Workout 1: Burpee's Exercise - YouTube
Congrats on starting M3 and using those shiny new 20 pounders!!!:D

Kris:: What a healthy outlook. I on the other hand would not be so undertanding! :p How's the lower body feeling today?

ETA:: This morning's work out was KCM Split Sessions for Upper Body. I added in jump rope between the weight lifting segments to make it a circuit style work out.

Hi ladies!

This morning's workout was Intensity: Step + HiiT (Hi) premix. Bloody hell that workout is hard. and I just did the premix! I took a 2 minute cool down before the stretch and I still had sweat pouring down my face during the stretch segment. Yowza!

Wendy: Great job with KCM Split Sessions! That one is definitely on my wish list. I thought of you when I was mapping our my "mish-mosh" on Sunday...."What Would Wendy Do"? :p

Kris: ONE MORE WORKOUT! Woohoo! You're so close to finishing STS. I thought Disc 35 was the toughest of the plyo leg workouts.

Bridget: Soon your 20 lb dumbbells will be as worn and used as your other dumbbells. :) Congrats on the strength gains. That's fantastic! If you can survive Intensity you can survive Gauntlet! You're going to rock it post-STS. ;) :)

Hi Kiki!

Katie

Spinning this morning- the spinning room is open again, maintenance was done on the bikes, the gears are tight!

Missed WW weigh in today- got out of work late- I wanted to attend that meeting too- it is an overview of the plan, like a beginner class for everyone. Maybe tomorrow?

When are those new workouts coming out?

Kris- you are so awesome for finishing STS soon! Any great finale workouts on your schedule?

Katie- that sounds like the Intensity workout I did- I have the download- no premixes available, but I was sucking wind midway through the HIIT portion before I skipped ahead to the stretch.

Wendy- I saw the burpee video- how many of those do you do? Do they count if you fall to your knees? Ouch!

Bridget

Hi there!

Woohooooooo! I finished my first round of STS today:) So proud of myself, like you'd said Katie, it's a great feeling to have stuck with it and finished it up- yay me:)

Hi Katie- meant to say yesterday, I was kind of disappointed that no firmer send date was in the Newsletter yesterday either about the Low Impact series:( I'm now worrying that they will come the one day in late September that I'll be out of town... and they'll sit in front of the house... such an optimist :confused: Great job with Intensity, that one kicks my butt for sure, including the premixes.

Hi Bridget - Way to spin! Bummer that you couldn't make that class, hope you get there tomorrow:) I actually was following the Cardio rotation that was posted to go along with STS (plus I added an addl cardio each week) so tomorrow is supposed to be Drill Max Cardio Leg blast.... we'll see though:)

Hi Wendy - Sounds like a great workout - way to add the jump rope!

Hi Kiki:) - hope you're doing ok.

Have a great night everyone!

Kris

Morning.

Today's work out was a jump rope warm up (can you tell I'm a fan yet?;)) followed by IMAX2 blasts only 1-5, ankle weight work from BBL High and Tight (can you say OUCH!? lol) and last but not least a 2:40min prone elbow plank.

My weight is back down to goal but not at it's lowest since starting WW. A little more to go...tryin to get to 2 pounds UNDER goal. :)

Kris:: Congrats on completing STS! Awesome job! WOOT WOOT! Great feeling isn't it!? :D

Bridget:: Glad spin is back on for you! I think the new work outs will get shipped by month's end. Just a guess on my part though. No basis in fact.

Katie:: Great work out for you. I considered Intensity this morning myself but IMAX2 is an old fave so I had to pull it out. :) You did a good job doing what I would do on that mish mosh btw! ;)

Good afternoon chick-a-roos!

This morning I did 4DS: Bootcamp - upper body circuit. I sure love the 4DS series. I think I may incorporate it into my next rotation.

Speaking of rotations, I recently finished Cathe's July 2010 rotation and I'm loving my results. I typically lose about a pound a month - i'm a slow loser :p - but during the month of august (when I was doing the July 2010 rotation) I lost almost 3 pounds! Woohoo! :) I think part of it was "shocking my body" with a cardio intensive rotation following STS. Plus I haven't noticed any decreases in strength and, if anything, I feel i've gotten slightly stronger! Just thought i'd share in case anyone is in need of a great calorie burner rotation! :)

Wendy: I hear ya about Imax 2 - it's one of my favorite workouts as well. I know it sounds crazy but I actually find myself reaching for it on a regular basis; I usually tend to avoid tough workouts (like CCC - I keep putting it on my calendar and then substituting another workout at the last minute ). Way to go getting your weight back down where you want it! :) That's fantastic!

Kris: CONGRATS girlie!!!! You're an STS superstar now! ;) :) Any celebration plans? I went shopping for new clothes (of course). I have a slight shopping addiction which is handicapped by my lack of funds. :D I'm getting impatient waiting on the new series. I completely understand it takes time but I WANT IT NOW (insert pouty face here). If the DVDs are mailed around the time you'll be out of town, can a neighbor or someone keep the DVDs for you until you get back? I always worry about packages sitting out at my house too.

Bridget: Spin away!:p I'm very glad to hear the gym is back up and running! Did you make it to the WW meeting today? I hope the new workouts are sent out soon soon soon (I seriously need to develop patience - what am I a five year old? :) ). Intensity gets me every time. I'm thinking of doing a 2-3 week intensity focus, meaning i'll do the Intensity workout 1-2 per week during that period. I find this is the best way for me to get on top of a tough workout.

Miss you Kiki!

Katie

Hi there everyone!

I did Drill Max Cardio/Leg Blast Premix this a.m. as planned, really a great workout, loved it:) I bet I'm going to be feeling my legs tomorrow as I still had a little twinge from my final Plyo legs workout Tuesday!

Hi Katie - I love 4DS too - I agree, would make a great addition to a rotation. Great workout for you! Thanks for the July 10 Rotation suggestion, I will definitely do that:) I have a few new ones that I haven't tried yet - high reps, circuit blast - so I want to try them before I get into a rotation. I'm also going out of town for about 4 days in a couple weeks (can't wait - going to Big Bear California with my family) , so I'm hesistant to start a rotation before then. Any feedback/suggestions always appreciated - I probably won't be able to get any formal exercise in those days... Thanks for the congrats! It does feel good! I don't know still about celebration - maybe a little shopping this weekend for some clothes item. I am really loving the way my legs shaped up especially - might need to capitalize on that a little:) Yeah, I'll have a neighbor check for a package if it looks like it'll be here while I'm gone.

Hi Wendy - What a great workout you put together again! wow, a 2:40 plank - ooouuuuuucchhhhh! Great job! I bet you'll get to your (below) goal, soon, you're doing awesome!

Hi Bridget - Hope you got to the WW meeting like you'd hoped!

Hi Kiki - miss you too!

Have a great night everyone!

Good Morning.

I did BR Bad Girl Work Out dated 9/5 this morning:

Hi Knees with Jump Rope (I didn't use a rope here)
Sandbag Squats (I used 2 fifteen pound kb's instead)
Knee Raises on Dip Station (hello kitchen chairs!)

It was an 18 minute work out. 18 rounds of 10 rest/50 work. Each exercise gets done 6x. Good stuff.

Off to make lunch and get to work.

BBIAB.

Happy Friday!

This morning I did HiiT 30/30 + abs from Lean Hot Body. I originally planned on HiiT 40/20 but I kinda punked out this morning. I was sleeeepy (that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it). :D

Wendy: I love the name of the BR workout you did this morning!! With a name like that you can't go wrong! :p Yeah that 2:40 plank sounds INTENSE! Way to work it girlie! The best thing about those BR workouts is that you get in, work like crazy, and get out. I like it! :)

Kris: Okay I have to admit DM Cardio/Leg premix always scares me a bit. It absolutely kicks my butt! Great job! You're going to look fabulous on your trip to Big Bear Lake (I think it's a lake..right?). Definitely show off those legs. ;) I completely understand your hesitation about starting a new rotation. After 3 months of STS it's kinda nice to fly free for awhile. I think a lasted maybe a week and a half -i'm kinda a rotatio fanatic though. :) High Reps is a great workout! It moves quick so be prepared. Let us know what you think about Circuit Blast. I don't have that one and am considering it as a future purchase.

Well, i'm catching a flight in an hour and a half to Florida to see my grandmother for the weekend. My check-ins may be sporadic for the next few days but i'll definitely be reading posts on my phone! Have a great weekend gals!

Katie

Katie:: Have a safe trip!!!! I have been known to schedule CCC and then put it off myself. I still say that is one of Cathe's toughest!!!!!:eek::eek: LOL-I know, I love the name of today's BR too! What a riot! :p 30/30 is the HiiT I reach for most. 40/20 is evil! Might rank up there with CCC!

Kris:: Thanks re the work out and the plank. It's all about variety for me so I don't get bored. :) Good job with DM! Tough work out! Good luck with PL. More tough work outs!!!! Happy lower body DOMS cause I know it's coming for ya! LOL

STS disc 27 yesterday & Spinning this morning (yay!)

WW weigh in- I gained 2.4lbs, not too worried about it, I lost close to 7lbs after the last 2 weigh ins, and was sick & without power last week- just staying on track and will be fine...

Hey, I have a potluck this weekend, any ideas for something easy, healthy to bring?

Wendy- (Bad girl workout???) I am in awe of you for making it to goal- I'm with you, I would like the extra 2 lb buffer- especially as holidays are coming- it starts with those miniature Halloween candy bars and its all downhill from there...

Kris- my first plyo legs workout is tomorrow (dread!) not looking forward to it!

Katie- enjoy your trip- looking forward to hearing your workout solutions while vacationing

Talk to you all this weekend
Bridget
