STS Body Rockers week of October 9th

kiki boys are 4yrs and the other is 15months:D Gonna try again today, i seem to have made out ok with out the 12lbs so far just use my 2lb gloves with my 10lbs. IT just gets anyoing and might need to go 13lbs or 14 and will need it then! Wow i was able to get hubby to go to the gym to play basketball but i am still working on weights, your lucky lady=)
katieoh no hope i dont have anymore probs with the downloads not cool! i can never bring myself to do abs, its where i need it most but hate it!!!
Bridget/B]that sounds kind of cool! I did gyn stuff before and i have no intrest in treating women again lol My friends are all in l&D, i want no part thanks! Congrats on your FNP, its soo cool.
So i went to my old gym today they just reopened after some renvoations. And was able to get into a spin class!!!!!! woohoo love it puddle of sweat and all. My plan is to spin on my off days with sts so hope it works out. I also start myfitpal for food diary. I try not to get to crazy with my food tracking as it can get a little much. I eat clean and try my best but i figured what they heck! So its been good and its just keeping me honest, so lets see=)
 
Hello!

This morning I did the KPC/L&G: Cardio drills/ankle weights premix. I also added on abs at the end (before the stretch). I really enjoyed this premix! I've actually never done L&G before :)o) so I wasn't quite sure what to expect and Cathe completely kicked my tush during the ankle weight segment!

Erin: Great job getting to spin class yesterday! Bridget is a "spinner" too (is that a word???). :p I think combining spinning with STS is a great idea! I use to feel the same way as you about abs. Wendy gave me some great tips for building up my ab strength and now I don't mind abs as much anymore. Now don't get me wrong. I still struggle a LOT with many of Cathe's ab routines, but at least I can kinda sorta do them now (well, most days). :eek: :rolleyes:

Wendy: What BR torture - I mean workout - do you have planned for today? :p Does it include the word repeat? I never thought seeing the word "repeat" would make me shudder! Haha! :D

Bridget: Great job getting back in the game lady!! Hehe - I was just kidding about the fresh meat comment. I'm still an STS newbie so I put myself in that category too. :p Have a wonderful time at the conference. I can't wait to hear all about Travel Fit too!

This was this morning's work out-the one I was trying to do y'day when I completely spazzed out trying to do the first exercise and it's so simple! :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Katie:: Nice work out! L&G is a great lower body work out. You should explore it more! Lotsa older gems in the Cathe collection! :) No repeats in the BR I did today. Thank goodness, right? lol

Erin:: Enjoy spinning if you continue to go. I've taken spin classes before but never stayed with it for more then a few months at a time. Not sure why since it IS a great work out! I guess I just always preferred the TM instead for cardio. I found a couple affordable sandbags on Amazon! It's the last purchase on my list before I have ALL of the BR equipment! ;) Better wait atleast a week to buy one though! :p LOL
 
Good morning.

Yesterday I finally did disc 4, and I was glad I waited. I felt much stronger yesterday than if I'd forced myself to do it while not being 100% (or at least close to it ;) ). I was able to knock down all the pushups w/o pausing, and I was able to go heavier than my w/o card gave me credit for, so I was pleased. I'll be adjusting quite a few of my 1RMs so that my w/o card will show accordingly next week. :D I also made sure to throw in the Extended Stretch for good measure (and headache prevention :rolleyes: ), and I'll probably do the same today (the plan is disc 6 today, 5 tomorrow...)

Katie: Nice job on the premix. I've never done L&G either :confused: , I only purchased KPC as a download and didn't even bother w/it. I figure, I have so many leg DVDs in prison right now, that it was all good :cool: . Those probably come a close second to the step vids :rolleyes: (and yeah, in reference to Low Impact Challenge...the warden will quickly escort her to her cell :p...) DH is on his last w/o in M2, he'll be on rest week next week (well, I think he's still trying to decide on that, since he took the week off while we were in PR and he was in between weeks 2&3 then). But he is a happy camper w/STS right now :D . Albeit, he still hates M1 :eek:, but understands now that it's just a means to an end....

Erin: Yep, Wendy is our resident "Ab Nazi" as we love to call her :p , and she'll have you whippin those abs into shape in no time ;). Her advice made a world of difference to me, and she can attest to you how much I despised doing ab work when I started my previous round of STS. I feel you on DH just wanting to play basketball, mine is like that too, although he loves the weights, he was never a "rotation/schedule" follower when it came to it, just go down there, do whatever he felt like doing, and be done :rolleyes:. It drove me insane, but you know how guys are...he could do a freakin pushup and develop more muscle than me :mad: , so I had a hard time convincing him on this one. It took me doing STS a couple of times, and then he could no longer stand the fact that I was finally the one getting all the results :p. Wouldn't ya know that as soon as I decided to quit nagging him, (and just let him grow old & fat if he wanted to :eek: ) he just grabbed the disc one day and started doing it! :eek:

Wendy: Yep, I'm pyramiding ;). I figured you were getting a little spoiled over there :p, so I didn't make ya start up w/me. Plus, this time I'm the one doing the longer rotation, so you got plenty of time to catch up w/me if ya ever change ya mind. I feel ya on the shorter w/o's. I get that way in the summer, so that's why it's now or never for me w/STS. I just can't do it once springtime hits! :p Plus winter is when I like to put on a good base of muscle, before I cut it down for spring/summer. Then I just maintain throughout the warmer months, w/more low maintenance w/o's. But girl, you got a good thing going over there, so if it ain't broke... :cool:

Good morning & thanks for the warm welcome!!

I think this will be my 3rd time doing STS. I know I did it twice when I first received it, as a preorder. I have started it a few times since then but never completed it. I do the extended stretch pretty often. I am determined to do the whole thing this time, with encouragement from you guys of course. It has been a while since I've completed a rotation. I'm really enjoying STS, I forgot how much I liked it.

My workout yesterday was HIIT 25 with BR Booty Transformation kinda mixed in & added at the end. Then I did STS M1D6 Legs, because I have to work a game tonight & won't have time. We have to standby at games in case the players get injured.

I prefer dvds to downloads, I'm technology challenged & I have no idea how I would get them to play on my tv. The only downloads I have are the ones I got free with the shock cardio preorder.

I still use the little trackers I got from WW to monitor my food intake. So far I'm staying pretty close to my 29 points.

I would love to have a gym membership, but I don't think I would have time to get there enough to justify the expense.

Well that's all for now, I'm supposed to be working so I better get back to it.

Kiki:: Yeah sorry I flaked out on our STS plans :eek: but I am far too in love with my current rotation to quit right now. :eek: Like you said-if it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;) I would like to do an STS rotation again some day but I'm going to have to work my way back slowly to the longer daily work outs before that can even begin to be a thought in my head! :rolleyes: One day though!

Wiggie:: I was very excited about the downloads initially. I have a small handful that I have and will use when I am out of town which is fine but I am disenchanted with the w/o blender which was my main reason for wanting downloads to begin with. That being said, unless I want to be able to travel "light" (meaning no dvd or portable player) with a specific Cathe work out, I do not see myself purchasing any futher D/L's.

Hey Erin, there's a group of us Cathletes over on MFP, too, if ya want some friends ;). No judgements, but it keeps us all honest (sometimes, too honest :p)
 
Kiki how excited i just went over to mfp! As long as he keeps some what active i am happy! But maybe just maybe one day i will walk into him doing sts lol.

Rickly i just got ankle weights i wil have to check out that work out!

Sooo Woke up to a pleasent big old vist from aunt flow :mad: but what ever i was determend to do my sts. I also was able to find 12lb weights...and bought 20's while i was there! So i now have 3-20lb db, i have hidden the 20's untill i need them. My hubby might complain that my work out stuff is starting to take over the house so shhhhhhhhhh its our dirty secret. lol I also would like to report that cathe kick my butt literaly with that leg day! I actually went pretty hard core even though i was so crampy! So when she said congrats..now stick around for an extra burn i said no way! I struggled a little with the ball on the wall stuff but i am sure i hit my legs good. I pretty sure i wont be able to walk tomorrow. Ok Off to get the kiddo
 
oh just a quick question..so i have been writing down what weights i use if i didnt do 1rm and if the 1rm is off. when i go back in and up date weights i used on the work out card, does it re adjust? even if its not a 1rm test ? I hope that makes sense lol thanks

I do believe, IIRC, and Kiki can help me with this one....that if you want the workout card to readjust then you need to enter the weight you use and the reps you do as a (new) 1rm in order for your weight loads to be updated for future w/o's. Is this correct, Kiki?
 
Yep, Wendy's right ;) Just put whatever weights you did do and for however many reps (as long as it's under 20) and input it as your 1rm, it will calculate what your actual 1rm is and adjust future workout cards accordingly. If you put it in any other way, it won't work.
 
Quick check in from my hotel outside of Boston. I did do travelfit this morning. I broke the pink band too, good thing I packed the green band too. May get up & use the gym in the morning, ormay just sleep, I'm exhausted!

Wendy. What is this magic ab formula the others speak of? I hate ab workouts.

Erin I love to spin! I started memorial day weekend and have been hooked since. Recently a classmate remarked on why my arms were looking so fit after spinning- of course the arms have been more shapely after doing STS.

Will check in for more tomorrow or Saturday.

Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days - crazy work days. I wanted to do at least a quick check in and back for personals tomorrow. Yesterday was Drill Max and today.... IMAX 3 for the first time (although I've had it for years:eek:) So proud of myself for completing it (admittedly not pretty at times, and with a few modifications) but I completed it:) Yay me:)

OUCH! Nice one Wendy! I'm getting excited for this Achilles to get me back in the game, so I can Rock w/ya here soon. (I especially need it to be in tact for any of that jump roping nonsense you insist on doin :p ) Maybe I'll start purchasing some new toys in the meantime for further motivation. I like your addition of KB swings to that one, nice touch ;)

Kris: Hope things calm down for ya soon over there. Good job still fittin in the w/o's though (esp IMAX 3 :eek: haven't done that since my RT step mania ) ....

As for me, I really should be working out right now :rolleyes: . Got Disc 5 on tap, and need to get to it. I will be going to a seminar over the weekend, and have to leave after lunch. Don't know if I'll be working out or checking in while I'm gone (though I'm sure I'll be peeking in via phone ;) ). If not, you ladies enjoy your weekend. :D
 
What a night ladies, baby up all night! I think its his stinking molars:( Then i have had a sinus headache since last so am having a ruff time this am! When i get this i wake up sick to my stomach and cant eat. Right now i am just trying to have some toast and tea. So spin went out the window but i have a plan B either hiit 30/30 or intensity when i perk up! k have good one

It was Step Max for me this a.m. - good workout - especially with 8 inch step:) Pretty soon headed out for errands - car getting detailed, fun stuff like that - my weekends are so exciting :p:eek:

Hi Kris and all who follow.

I am soooo sore from y'day's BR work out. OMG! :eek: Not sure what I should do today as a result. Things that make ya go HMMMMM....:p

Going to mom's later for dinner. That's about my only true plan for today besides a little housework and a work out of sorts.

Kris:: Car detailing...makes me remember how badly my car needs to be washed!!! It's a pretty nice day out today today. Maybe I will do it myself! :D Thanks re my moshes. Keeps me from getting bored. IDK how I put em together. Guess the key is not to over-think it. :)

Erin:: Ooooh I remember the baby days. I was NOT good at dealing with sleep depravation!:eek: Hope you were able to catch a nap or something!!!

Kiki:: Yes, I can't wait for you to join me in the Body Rockin' either! So you are going to start collecting the BR toys while you wait huh? Sounds good to me!:D What will you order first? :)

So worked yesterday so no exercise unless running around on a busy cardiac floor for 12hrs count :) Eats were clean though. Today just did my disc 4 man i love my Cathe. If i fall on my face one more time trying to keep up with those push ups lol. So glad i bought those 12lb db too makes it so much easier. Hubby home cooking clean eats for the week to come and i am taking the kids to see my mom! have a great one everyone
