STS Body Rockers - September 2012 :)

Hi girls!

I decided to stick with Pure Strength for awhile, so yesterday I did PS: Shoulders, Chest, and Triceps + abs and today I did PS: Back and Biceps (at the gym) + abs + 3 mile run. I ran outside today (instead of on the TM) and enjoyed the run much more. But it was still hard. It took a lot of mental energy for me to complete the run but I did it. :) I just kept repeating to myself, "Cathe wouldn't quit". LOL!

Wendy: Sorry to leave you hanging this weekend! I had a little get together on Friday so I spent all day Friday preparing/cleaning/cooking and all day yesterday re-cleaning and recovering. ;) Excellent workouts this weekend! I'm so very impressed you did an Insanity workout with only a few breaks. WOW!!! Insanity scares the crap out of me. GOOD LUCK at your interview tomorrow! Of course they are going to love you! :)

Wiggie: Great job getting in those workouts! A little something is always better than nothing. I hear ya on running now that it coolers. I hate excersing when it's hot, okay even when it's warm. I really like Pure Strength. It's no nonesense, straight up heavy lifting. The workouts are short(er) at only 40(ish) minutes but I still feel like i'm getting an excellent workout. Two big thumbs up!

Kris: Whew, i'm tried just hearing about your whirlwind trip! Glad you took the time you needed to rest and recover. Besides I think you were due for a recovery week. ;) What's your workout plan for this week?

Hi Girls...or should I say Hi Katie!:p

My work out is done and I am cooking dinner now.

I did The Kettlebell Way (40m) and STS Extended Stretch.

For dinner I am trying my hand at butternut squash soup. DH is grilling steak and lobster for himself and DS and I am going to pan fry a piece of flounder for myself. We will also make broccolli rabbe (one of DH's faves!) and mashed potatoes (instant today - sorry!:p) and gravy (another of DH's faves!) So we have a full menu but we aren't all eating everything. I am sure we will have left over soup which works for me as a great lunch...as long as it's good!;)

Katie:: Nice job sticking with PS. I enjoyed using that series with BR as a one bodypart per day add on. You might remember when I did that actually...It was a good match up and I was still done with my work out in an hour!:) So what kind of yummy food did you make for your company on Friday??

Hello to everyone else!

Off to check on my soup!

Morning Glories!:)

Well, today is interview day!:D:confused::eek::)

Last night's soup was delish! Can't wait to dig into the left overs! YUM!

Today's work out plan is a run and yoga. I haven't been to the gym in a week! I've been working out though so it could be much worse! :p

BBL!

Good morning All!!

Sorry I didn't post over the weekend, my computer tests my patience & I always fail!!:p

Friday's workout was Cardio Strength & NY #4. Saturday's was Pump Extreme & 30 minutes of Step 2 Success & Sunday's was Fire 55 EZ.

Wendy, great job on your run!! Sorry about the blister.:( Hope your interview goes well, I'll have my fingers crossed!! :) I think I have a Iron Core Way workout somewhere, did you enjoy it? Your dinner made me hungry, I wish I lived nearby!! :p

Katie, thanks for the PS review, you seemed to be enjoying it, sometimes I just enjoy doing something different. I've heard alot about the Horizontal Conditioning dvd so I ordered it from Total Fitness Dvds. It requires no equipment, so it should be great for traveling. I wish I had ordered it earlier, I'm leaving for Atlanta, GA Thursday for a long weekend(wedding), I could have given it a test run.

Hi Kris!!

Have a great day All!! :)

Hello!

Wow, i've been struggling with the cardio lately. This morning's workout was Intensity, and it was rough. Glad THAT's over! :D

Wendy: INTERVIEW REPORT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!:p;) EEK! blisters suck. :( Your soup sounds yummy! Care to post the recipe? :D I love cooking and am always looking for new recipes to try. I hate broccolli..and yet i'm making roasted broccoli with parmesan and olive oil tonight for dinner. I'm hoping the cheese will mask the broccolli taste, lol!

Wiggie: Excellent workouts! You've been doing a lot of non-Cathe workouts lately. :p;) I've heard a lot about Horizontal Conditioning too!! I'm so glad you bought it because now I can wait for your review before I buy. ;) Fingers crossed it arrives before you leave for this upcoming weekend's festivities!

Hello!:)

I am back from the interview! It went well and the job is mine for the taking but I fear the hours just aren't workable for me right now. :( I will, though, be getting back in touch with them to interview for a PT position once I am certified! I really liked the manager I interviewed with so it gave me a really good feeling about the place. :)

Great work outs ladies!

Katie:: I posted the soup recipe link on FB if you want to go over and take a gander. So why on earth are you cooking something that you don't like again?? I love broccolli! I'll send you soup if you send me some broccolli!:p

Wiggie:: Nice way to mix up the work outs! Yes, I like the Iron Core Way work outs. They were cheap ($15 each at Target) and easy to follow circuits that she goes through 2x in each work out.

BBL!

Hi there ladies,

Sorry no check ins this weekend - time got away from me :( I did workout - did High Step Training, I liked that one, time went fast and I felt it (alllll of those leg presses - ouch!) I did a bunch of lawn and housework otherwise, as well as walk/jog sessions - love it now that it's finally cooler in the morning (still up over 100 degrees this weekend in the p.m. - but the morning cool-off is a big relief!) Today I did a Crossfire PM - the Plyo and FW tabata one.

Hi Wendy - sorry the hours of the job don't work for you - but glad for your future possibilities there! Bummer on the blister, great job with the run! Great Insanity and Kettlebell workouts too - you're doing great!

Hi Katie - Way to go on getting the cardio done even when it's tough - I struggle often with it too  Glad you're enjoying the PS series, great workouts!

Hi Wiggie - Great workouts this weekend! Those sound like some goodies! I had looked at those horizontal workouts too - can't wait for your review - I really hate mountain climbers, probably means they are the most important for me to do...:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a great evening,

Kris

Good Morning Glories. :)

Today will be kettlebell or Insanity plus yoga. Tmrw will be whatever I don't do today. ;)

I am bummed that the job I interviewed for isn't going to work out. If the manager is an example of the type of people working at that facility then I probably would have really liked working there. She was super nice/friendly/down to earth. Oh well. Atleast now I know it's a place I can go back to for a trainer job once I'm certified!

Kris:: HSTA is tough. I think the hardest part for me is the upper body work. IMO it's killer! I'm not a big fan of leg presses though which is why I don't do that work out often... Wow, it's still that hot by you!?!? Holy cow!!!! Where do you live? I'm thinking TX but could be wrong...

Ok, that's all for now but I'll be back!

Hello All!!

Monday's workout was CF Triple Tabata chased by 30 minutes on my bike.

Wendy, sorry things didn't work out, but sounds like a good contact for the future. When you start the class I want to hear all about it, in detail. ;)

Kris, HSTA is tough, I like it, but I do like leg presses. I guess I learned to love them when I used to do The Firm. I never did weights consistantly until then. Good job on the walk/run, I'm still slack in that area!! :p

Katie, is the struggle getting better? Maybe you just weren't in the mood for that dvd, that happens to me often. I just keep popping in dvds until I find the right one.

Have a great day All!! :)

Hi all,

Today's workout was STS: Total Body. I sweated buckets and missed a few reps here and there (I tried to remember to tack those reps on at the end of each set), but I survived. :) I'm already feeling sore! :D:p:rolleyes:

Wiggie: Nice workout! I bet your legs are fried. :p;) No sadly the struggle is still going on. A few times I almost quit this morning. I guess it is just my week to struggle!

Wendy: Thanks for a heads up on the soup recipe! I'll pop over to Facebook this afternoon and check it out. Total bummer on the job. :( I know you are very disappointed. Like the other gals mentioned, at least it's a contact in the field!! I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. When I was trying to find a job after LS, each rejection letter felt devastating. BUT, now looking back if I had gotten one of those jobs then I would have missed out on the beyond-fabulous job that I have now. ;) Of course, I never saw it that way at the time. Just food for thought. :)

Kris: Great job with HST. As soon as I hear that name I start remembering all those leg presses. Ouch! ;) Over 100??? Wow, that's hot!! It's been in the upper 60s and low 70s here lately and i've been loving every second of it. :D

Hello Ladies.:)

Well I opted for a short kettlebell work out today b/c I decided that I want to go to the gym later for a run that way DS can hang out with his buddies in the babysitting room and we'll both be amused. DH bowls on Tuesday nights. That's what made me decide to do it.

So I did the 12 minute fat blaster work out from the Lauren Brooks KB dvd I have plus 35 minutes of Yoga Beauty Body. Y'day I did 30 mins from this same dvd which I think I forgot to mention! The two work outs were comprised of different chapters so it wasn't the same exact work out both times. Both felt great! :)

Wiggie:: Oooh that Triple Tabata is a good one and to chase it with a bike ride!? Awesome job!:)

Katie:: Great job with STS TB! It's killer for sure! The "beyond-fabulous" job you have now, huh? Ummm...do I detect a wee bit of sarcasm there my dear? ;):p:D Don't get me wrong, I am sure that you are happy in your job but that description was just a bit over the top to be completely believable! LOL I hear ya though. I understand what you are saying and I am keeping my chin up! Just getting anxious b/c I've been out of work a while! I am ready to get goin' on something here!!!!

Alright, time to get myself cleaned up and presentable enough to pick up DS from school in a bit. BBIAB or after my run later!

Good morning All!!

My workout Tuesday was a 45 minute ride on my spin bike. I didn't realize my legs were fried from yesterday's w/o until I started riding, for a minute I thought about quitting. But after a while my legs recovered & I was able to finish.

Wendy, great job squeezing that run in!!

Katie, STS Total Body is one I've done often, I love hitting all body parts!!

We'll be leaving early in the morning for Atlanta so this might be my last check in for a while. So if I don't "talk" to you before the weekend, make it a great one!!

Morning!

Today's workout was HiiT Pyramid, Core, and Stretch Max #3. I got my foam roller yesterday, so I substituted that for some of the stretches in SM. Fingers crossed the foam roller helps my knees!

Wiggie: Yeah those tabatas can turn strong legs into jelly. ;) Nice job pushing through this morning even though you wanted to quit. That's the sign of a true warrior cathlete! :) Have a wonderful trip to Atlanta. Are you going for business or pleasure?

Wendy: Look at you getting in that run. :p;) Nice job!! Kettleballs are a lot of fun. I've never done a full kettleball workout, but i've played around with them at the YMCA. LOL, okay there might have been a bit of sarcasm there. Candidly I do have a sweet job, except for the dismal pay. But for that it really would be "beyond fabulous".

Hey Girls!

Yoga Works:: Body Slim is all she wrote for me today! I intended to do Insanity but then I got busy with applications and cover letters etc and lost track of time. There's always tmrw though! I'm not sweatin' it! I did something after all! :)

Katie:: Your job sounds like the polar opposite of my last job...you have a great job that you are underpaid for doing. I had a lousy job that I was overpaid for doing! LOL Nice work out this morning! I have a foam roller. Bought it when I was running (the first time). I haven't used it in years. They are supposed to be great...though painful! Good luck with it! :)

Wiggie:: Nice work out! WTG pushing on sore legs! Have fun in Atlanta if that's what you are going for! :D

Hi there ladies -

Quick check in for me too - got in a jog/walk yesterday and today - tomorrow my hubby comes home for the weekend - so probably won't be around too much  (he's been gone since end of June...)

Hi Wiggie - hope you have a great trip! I'd love to try spinning one day, great job.

Hi Wendy - great job with Body Slim - I know what you mean about getting involved with doing something else and time gets away - great job doing what you did! Yeah, 100s is still hot, I live in Arizona, not too far from Phoenix... (my hubby has been working in Texas, so that's probably why you thought that's where I was - I visited him there in august:)

Hi Katie - The foam roller sounds like a great thing! Hope it helps your knees! Great job with Hiit Pyramid (that's one of my faves), core and SM.

Hope you all have a great evening and I'll check in when I can - hubby sleeps later than me, so I'll have some time :)

Kris

Hi ladies,

Today's workout was 4DS: Kickbox. I was running out of time and didn't want to miss abs so I skipped the last leg segment. I still got an excellent leg and cardio workout! :)

Wendy: Nice job with BodySlim. Sometimes a little bit of something is all your body really needs. :) Yeah the foam roller is a wee bit painful, but not to bad. Then again i'm not 100% sure i'm using it right, lol! Any other PT or gym-related job leads yet?

Kris: YAY for your hubby returning home! That's wonderful!!! I'm sure it's hard to be away from him. My DH has been gone for extended periods of time here and there for work and I always miss him bunches (don't you dare ever tell him that though). :D:p;) Nice job getting in those runs!

Hello Girls. :)

My work out is done. I did 2/3's of Insanity Max Interval Circuit and premix #1 of Yoga Relax...:D

I just spoke to the mgr of the gym I interviewed at. I asked her to please keep me in mind should an opening arise and that I will be in touch once I am certified. I feel like I got may have gotten "a foot in the door" just by way of the interview and being offered the job.

Kris:: Yup, you are right! I knew there was a reason that Texas came to mind! LOL So how long is your hubby there for? I've never been to Arizona but I've been to Nevada - Vegas to be exact. Loved it! You guys get super hot weather but all I can say is you are lucky not to get the crazy humidity we get here in the tri-state area! I know the dryness comes with issues but man, atleast you can breathe!!! :p Enjoy your w/e with your DH!;););)

Katie:: Nice job on the kickboxing! I don't suppose you wore weighted gloves for the work out? :p Ok, I will forgive you but ONLY b/c you stopped the cardio portion a bit short to make sure you had time for abs! WOW! Awesome job! :D Body Slim was actually perfect for me y'day. It really does get my heart rate up! I felt like I worked hard! Maybe there's a reason I "forgot" to work out after that! LOL No leads on the job front per say but I applied to a place on line y'day and have 2 applications to drop off in person between today and trmw so we will see what happens with them!

Ok, time for a shower and food!

BBL!

Good Morning Girls. :)

I dropped an application, cover letter and resume off to a gym in the area y'day and have another to deliver today. There are several more I will visit over the coming weeks as well!

Today's work out plan is a full length kettlebell work out and yoga. Tmrw I am hoping to get to the gym for a run but probably won't have time for anything ese...

Guess that's all for now.

I'll be back after my work out!
