STS and 10K training?

I don't post too often, but I'm wanting to get some advice here. I finally got around to finishing my 1RM and am ready to start STS. I'm very eager to start, and I love doing weight work. But I also want to run this 10K coming up in July. Is it too much for my body to go ahead and do STS, and also train for the 10K on my cardio days? I do regular cardio, but I'm not obsessive about it. I usually run 3-4 miles on my cardio days, or do and IMAX or some other step routine. What do you guys think?

I've been running intervals 5 days a week or so, about 7 km a day (running intervals with walking rest periods), taking about an hour including warm up and cool down. I've been doing STS at the same time, and have had no problems- I think you should always do a mixed strength training and cardio rotation.

I have been running 6km 3 times a week and doing plyo legs and HIIT training on the treadmill, plus other Cathe DVD's. My 6km time has dropped by 4 minutes and I am not even trying. I would say just keep going and the STS will only make you stronger and more resilient to injury as well as giving you some added power on hills and for sprints.

Good luck
Heather
