Cathlete
I get to start us up for a change...;)
Both kids woke up with a cough and what looks like a sinus infection this morning.
So we are staying warm and taking our GSE, hopefully it won't stay long. We have had more than our fair share of colds lately, I wonder what's going on...

I hope the sick kiddos are getting better Cendrine. I thought I was coming down with a cold or something and I think it has turned out to be allergies. Yesterday I was in a fog all day long with bouts of sneezing attacks. I don't think I would mind allergies as much if they did not make me so tired. I just feel like I have run a marathon.
So this morning I was trying cardio and weights and just could not give it any energy. I cut out at about 30 mins. but the 30 I did do was lack luster. So with the time change week and now the allergies, it looks like I won't be rocking this rotation:rolleyes: It's funny, I thought I would really be able to give the upper body rotation so much more energy. I might have to revisit it down the road.

Sorry about not checking in this weekend. We went to the lake on Saturday and it was so nice. The weather was perfect. I took some pics of the sunset that I will post when I upload them.

Other than that, its back to work today. I am so wiped out from allergies, I should have not been stubborn and slept in this morning.

Hope you all have a great day.

Sorry to hear about your allergies, Rachel, I got hit with them too! And you are right, it makes me feel like a zoombie, too...
the kids aren't in terrible shape, but between the two of them I think I got woken up 8 times, and that's not counting the times dh wakes me up... so, I'm having a coffee this morning, which I don't usually do, so hopefully I'll get a good kick out of it LOL!
I did the last chest, shoulder and tricep of meso 2 all the same, and glad that I did!

A book of ds readers has a boy doing a block print out of wood and I already found a kit online for ds to try it too. This will be a great art activity to tie in and network the subjects! I'm going to have him print up cards with his design that he can later use to write thank you cards for birthday and christmas presents. I just love it when things get working out in so many way!

Is it my imagination or are sinus issues just rampant? My goodness Cendrine, you, me, your kids, Rachel and about half the people I work with have sinus issues!!! I always wonder what people did 100 years ago or was it not such an issue?

Cendrine, I hope you're feeling better this afternoon! Ugghh I hate being tired! I feel for you! Hope the kids are feeling better too!

Rachel, I hope you've picked up energy as the day has worn on!

Yesterday, DH and I made a Costco run and then I was studying for mid-terms which is why I didn't make it on yesterday. I'm hoping to take one tonight and the other Wednesday night.

Not much else going on. I am having a doldrum day though... :p

Hi Kim!!!

Cendrine, I was already going to ask you what you do with the art things after yall have used them with a lesson and then I read a little farther and you answered my question. lol I do love it too when things can serve several purposes. Then I feel like I have not wasted anything. I used to be way more careless about what I spend money on but now I really rationalize before I but anything. I hate something just laying around here and not being used.
Way to go on Meso 2. So does that leave you with one or 2 left before you are finished?

I did start waking up today after lunch and had myself talked into trying my workout when I got home but I have decided I am going to skip it. Although I don't feel too tired, I look it...puffy eyes...so I am going to just maybe make it up on the day that there is a 40 min. steady state. I did not have any allergy attacks today so I am hoping I won't feel like I got run over in the morning.
I hate to admit it but the more I think of it, I think I might know why my cramps were so bad this month and I am lacking so much energy. Coupled with the time change, I have not been eating all that well. Normally I really try to pack in the veges. but the last few weeks I have been eating more for convenience than health. I think I am paying the price so with that said I am going to try and tighten them belt strings.

Jo-I hope the tests go smoothly. To me, it seems like sinus issues are getting worse. Of course since I only started having allergies a few years ago, I am partial to thinking that way. It just seems like more kids are allergic to things now days too. I remember when I was in school we used to get served peanut butter snacks and now all peanut products are band from the premises of the school in our town due to peanut allergies. It is weird how things change.

Have yall heard of the movie "Water for Elephants"? I just started reading the book and it seems like it will be a good one. I will let yall know.

Hey Kim I hope all is well.

Goodness, lots of people not feeling well! Cendrien and Rachael do you think some it's from spring time stuff? Certainly no spring allergies acting up here yet, we're getting a winter storm tomorrow, 15 cm of snow with high winds:(

Rachael The lake sounds nice and relaxing! Why don't you just take a few days of from working out! maybe you body needs a good long rest!

Jo Good luck on the test tonight!

Cendrine Hope the kids are recovered soon and you get some sleep tonight! Good job on Meso 2!

Just finished CardioKicks and I'm feeling really tired today so that was just a perfect workout for today. I stayed up way too late reading a really good book (Maeve Binchy's Tara Road) and then I had to be at work early so not enough sleep.

Yesterday morning I got PS Back/Biceps/Abs done and then in the afternoon I went out for coffee with two ladies that I served on the jury with. It was really nice to see them. One of them would like me to go to the sentencing with her which is in April. I'm really not sure if I want to go, will have to think about that. The whole case was on the 6pm news again as they released some new video of the interview with the accused. It feels like it will never go away.

Also spent lots of time yesterday planning our next Disney trip which was fun!

Not sure if I'll be arond tomorrow as we're having a little reunion from my university class. Just going out for dinner, hopefully the snow doesn't ruin the plans.

Kim, I definitely think the hightened allergy reactions are due to spring being in the air, literally... So hopefully it will ease up in a couple of weeks.

I did tm walk and no equipment abs this morning. Got two more workouts in Meso 2. I'm not sure if I want to do meso 3 at this point, maybe I'll do slow and heavy. I remember I was playing with that idea after finishing round one of sts. We'll see.

the kids slept through the night last night, so we are all hopefully getting better. Usually it takes a few nights to recover from a bad one...

Hi Jo and Rachel!

Good evening.

Yes Kim...I too am sure it is spring but the weird thing is that my house is covered in pollen and I can sweep it and dust it and I am not bothered one bit but when I went to my FIL's the other day I could not be outside without sneezing my butt off. One day I will have to go get checked out to see what I am allergic to just to quell my curiosity. Oh and I think I have read Tara Road a long time ago and remember it being good. Oh yea and did I mention I am stubborn. I know I need to take a rest but now I feel I need to finish this rotation first......stubborn.

Cendrine-I am glad that the kiddos are doing better. They bounce back so fast from any sort of thing like that, don't they? I know alot of people did not really like meso 3. I liked it because that is the way I started lifting weights with dh in the gym. I had no idea how much variety there was out there but that took me back to those times.

I am not sure if yall remember the story I told yall about my friend from high school that was a paramedic who died from carbon monoxide poisoning...well now my other friend from hs is in the hospital. She has always had intestinal issues because she had a lot of it removed when she was young for some reason. I am not quite sure if it was part of the small or large intestine nor am I quite sure why. Any how I just got a text that she has some sort of an infection in her colon and they are waiting for a specialist. This girl is so great and I hope this is just something minor.:(

Sorry to leave it on that note. I better go for now though.
TTYL

Hey it's hump day! Woohoo! Quick in and out for me as I have meeting to get to.

Rachel, I'm so sorry about your friend! It really strikes home doesn't it? I hope her issue is minor too!

Kim, I read Tara Road a few years ago when it first came out. I remember I liked it but don't remember what it was about exactly. Isn't it written from a guys perspective?

Cendrine, glad everyone is doing better!

HAPPY SPRING!!! It's going to be 60 here today! (Just for a day though!) :D

BBL!

Busy day today, I'm posting on the run ;)
did legs week 4, I think I've decided to skip meso3 entirely and have a more cardio focused rotation for a while... I'm itching to try some stepping, but am not sure if I should... but definitely more tm, I think.

I hope your friend will be ok, Rachel!

Kim, have you decided if you're going to the sentencing? I don’t know what I would do. Great that you get to do some disney planning!

Jo, it's a warm day for you... same temp here and I feel cold...LOL

Seems to be alot more socializing and planning to socialize going on here then working out:rolleyes: I went to my school reunion last night and had a wonderful time. It's funny I really didn't feel like it after work as work was so busy and I was tired. But once I got there I didn't want to leave and stayed quite late. We had a class of 26 (1 guy) in a 3 year course in university and so got to know each other quite well. We had 9 women come out last night and it's funny even when you haven't seen each other in a long time, it's all so comfortable. It was great to see everyone.

Tonight I spent lots of time shopping and getting ready for the party on the weekend (jury) and lots of time on the phone/computer with my sister's planning our Disney trip. So lots of fun stuff but this March rotation just isn't getting done. But that's okay I feel like some fun/socializaton right now. We now have parties booked for five of the next 6 weekends:p at my house!!!

Rachael Have you heard anymore about your friend??

Jo Tara Road is about a women in the USA and a women in Ireland who switch houses for the summer. One is going through a divorce and one is grieving the loss of her son. The focus is mostly on Ireland and the people who live in Tara road.

Cendrien I'm thinking of not going to the sentencing. I have to admit that I'm very curious to hear what the judge has to say as I think it will validate our decision but I also need to start putting it behind me. I'll talk with the girls again on the weekend.
How are the kids doing??

Last day of school/work tomorrow then spring break!!!:cool:

Hi All!

Kim, oh, yeah I remember that book now. I'm so glad you had fun at the reunion! Isn't it great to just pick up where you left off? You're right, you are quite the social butterfly right now! LOL! That's great though! You know it's healthy to socialize! Yay for spring break!

Rachel and Cendrine, whatcha up to?

I played hookie this afternoon - my GF that lives in downtown Seattle was off and texted me to see if I could meet her for lunch. I said when and where - I'll be there! I didn't have anything schedule this afternoon and tomorrow is a really busy day for me so I thought why not! Not much else going on. Went to spinning and now I'm settling in to work on an assignment.

TTYTomorrow!

Good Friday!

Sorry no post yesterday. I had work in the morning and then my nieces b-day last night. It is about a 30 min drive to the park they had it at so it was home from work then in the shower and then off to the party. I can not believe she is 14! She made me an Aunt so it is very monumental:rolleyes:

We are waiting around here this morning for a call about some carpet that needs to come in so we can finish our little job here in town. Needless to say DH is still in bed. I am sort of thinking about crawling back in it too and reading if they don't call soon. LOL I love a good lazy morning.

I am chugging along on my workouts. I am starting to feel more like myself and I think these shorter workouts are helping. Not to mention the fact that there have not been any real intense cardio bouts. Last month it seemed like it was intense leg day followed by INTENSITY. So this is a nice break from that.

Nothing much else going on.

Jo-I am glad you got a little good gf time in before you had to get back to studying. It is nice to give the brain a break with some good girl gab.;)

Kim-I think I was the same way when I went to my reunion. I thought it might be blah but it turned out to be a lot of fun to catch up with the people I had went to school with all my life.
I hope the party is a success.
I am not sure I would go to the sentencing either. It is kind of hard to move forward when there is always something reminding you.

Cendrine-So now are you going to take a recovery week?

Oh I forgot to tell yall . The boo Water for Elephants is so good!!! It is a great easy read but has a lot of depth to. It is set in the depression era mainly around a circus and then there is some present tense too. I am gobbling this book up every time I get a spare minute to read.

Better go.

Have a great day!

Sorry guys, I was busy yesterday, too.

Any news on your friend, Rachel? I don't think I'm going to take a rest week, but I decided on what to do for workouts in the next few weeks. I'm going to do circuits and low impact cardio, trying if I can pull off some stepping.

Kim I would probably skip the sentencing too, the way I know myself, it would affect my sleep for a while...

Jo, your day out with your friend sounded like fun!

It's rainy here... our strawberry picking fieldtrip got cancelled... :(

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I stayed up half the night reading a rather disturbing book and then couldn't sleep afterwards so went to work on very little sleep. I'm happy to say that I can home and did Athletic Step and ab circuits stability ball before going to bed early. I'm on holidays now! The kids are on spring break for a week. Today we had parent/teacher conferences at the school and ds had a dr's appointment to review his pulmonary function studies. I also got PS Chest/Shoulder/Triceps done which is a short workout.

Also got to the library and got 6 new books including 2 more Maeve Binchy. The library close to the new house is bigger than I thought it would be.

Jo I'm glad that you got some fun gf time! DO you have lot of homework to do this weekend?

Rachael My ds is almost the same age as your neice! He turns 14 in a couple of weeks. Did that carpet ever come? Glad you're starting to get your energy back!

Cendrine Too bad on the strawberries! I would love to go this summer for strawberries, we've often done that and I don't have anymore in the freezer.

40 min run done on the tm and Core Max #3 so I finished up week 3 of the March rotation. Going to keep going with week 4 tomorrow as I had lots of rest days this week.

Looking forward to "the friends I met this winter" coming over tonight. I decided that it was weird calling them the jury. I wonder if we'll find anything to talk about.
DD has piano lessons this afternoon and then she gets a 2 week spring break which I think she really needs. I find piano lessons from Sept to June (weekly) is too much and she starts to not enjoy it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Like my Granny used to say...Its hot as the dickens here...Now just how hot that is supposed to be, I don't know. All I know is that it is pretty warm.:cool:

You won't believe this but I did not set my alarm this morning and I didn't work out. Yesterday after I got off the computer, I went and crawled back in bed and read for a while then fell asleep until the phone rang at 11:30:eek: and I still felt tired. So I don't know what is going on with me but I decided to take the rest of the weekend off. I did do a stretch today though. Yesterday at work I had to be bent over under some counters for a while and I think I pulled some muscles in my lower back. So if it isn't one thing...

Cendrine-My gf got to go home but she is going to be on a very strict diet from here on out, I think. I am not sure of all the details because she has had a lot of family around and I thought I would let things settle down before I went to visit.
Stinks that the strawberry picking got canceled. Yall are getting alot of rain there. We are still in a pretty concerning drought pattern. SO not our normal spring storms.

Kim-I think yall will have plenty to talk about tonight. You seem like the social type to me. I am going to post pics of my niece when I post the other pics. She is so pretty. I feel sorry for my brother when she starts driving and is out of the house more. I would be a nervous wreck.
Now I am curious about the disturbing book...?
Oh and the carpet was what the 11:30 wake up call was about. May it is the humid weather that is making me sleepy. I am just not used to be low energy like this for so long of a stretch. So maybe I will be renewed after taking the weekend off.

Jo-Waving from the other sunshine state.

Hellooooooo out there! I got up and did Step Moves today. Then I tackled the whole house with the new Dyson! Man what a difference it is to vacuum with a good piece of machinery! I LOVE IT! I love that I can stop and just pull the hose out to get a corner or a stair and not have to undo a bunch of stuff. This could become a new favorite pasttime! LOL!

Rachel, forgive me for making fun of you, but you know how when you make a mistake and it just strikes you really funny...well you wrote the boo Water for Elephants (I know you meant book) but at first at went "boo Water?" LOL! It gave me a good chuckle! Your body obviously needed some serious relaxing! I think us girls on the go sometimes don't realize how hard we push ourselves and then our bodies go "SLOW DOWN" take a load off! Good for you for listening to yourself and going back to bed!

Kim, yes, what is that disturbing book? Don't ya just love the library? Our new office we moved to is just 3 blocks walk to the library I go to. I've already walked there a couple of times. For some reason, I always find the library comforting...I think it stems from good childhood memories of going there - well and the fact since I was 4 I've loved to read. So nothing better than being surrounded by books! (Unless you're in the gym or sitting in the middle of your Cathe DVD's! LOL!) Have a great time tonight!!!

Cendrine, boohoo about the strawberry picking! Whah! Are you doing anything fun this weekend or is it raining still? We have friends coming over tonight for dinner and DH is in making his world famous meatloaf (with his secret ingredients!). He's making it by request! LOL!

I finished both midterms by last night which is why I had time to vacuum today! Oh I also vacuumed because DH took Ibo to the self-wash. It's easier to vacuum when he's not attacking it! LOL! He smells all nice and clean! So I'm already halfway through this next session. It's flying! Okay DH is calling me to come help. Enjoy the weekend!

It's not raining as much as we thought it would so far, so the kids have been enjoying playing with the neighbor kids outside. I pulled out this huge bubble wand for them and ds figured out how to trap a bubble inside another bubble, pretty cool!

Rachel, I second everyone else, good job listening to your body and taking it easy! What kind of diet is your friend on now?

Jo, it's cool to have a nice vacuum, I love mine too, but I think yours sound better! I got a chuckle out of your comment, that it is easier to vacuum without attack... ;)

Kim, I hope your party was relaxing and enjoyable! I'm amazed at how many parties yu have planned! Sounds like lots of fun!

I had invited a friend of mine to come over for strawberry shortcake, because we were supposed to have picked some yesterday. Well I still oops, goota go, bbl
