***STS 6 Month Alumni*** Week of January 16th

Thanks for all the dinner ideas Cendrine! I often do some form of pasta, mexican or salad but you gave some great new twists!

DH and I did 40/20 and no equipment abs tonight. DD did a mile on the tm, she is so cute, she always gets a Cathe dvd out to do the cooldown and then she rates the cooldown. She really enjoyed the one off of Lower Body Blast today. The next 2 days are supposed to be double workouts, we'll see if they get done, I have no ideas how long my days will be.

I posted some new pics in the house folder from this morning. The house was just a beehive of activity today, we stopped on the way to and from school. They were working on floors, lighting and basement ceiling. What do you think of the floor in the front hall/bathrooms? I'm happy with it and really curious to see what the laminate looks like in the kitchen/dining room.

Rachael I really enjoyed LIC yesterday, it's such an upbeat workout. Hope you get your dvd back soon. How did the pork burger turn out?

I can't believe the -45 either, it is darn cold. Walking the block to the car and my eyelashes were freezing together, LOL. Frostbite cases coming into the hospital. Every January has a few days like this, suppose to be super cold the rest of the week.

Cendrine, hope the kink in the neck is gone by tomorrow!

Jo So nice to see you pop in! What a busy crazy time for you! I know I probably have no reason to be nervous, I'll just be sitting and listening tomorrow but I am!! I know I won't sleep well tonight but I 'm glad that we're getting on with it. I've been only half watching TBL this time, I always have it on but always doing other things. Good luck at the dentist tomorrow!

Good Morning! Just popping in again as I'm off to the dentist to see what they say about that crown.

Kim, I'm sending positive vibes to you! Good luck with all this and I'm thinking about you!

Rachel, I'm jealous you have a tractor! ;)

Cendrine, yeah I'm tired. A couple people have mentioned I look tired. But...oh well!

Have a great Thursday!

Good Thursday...Wow Thursday already!
One more week of this rotation and this month is going to be over! It must be the rotations for me making the time fly. It just seems like it was just Christmas and now it is almost Valentines Day!

So I did finally get in touch with my friend and she is bringing my DVD's back today so I just switched tomorrows workout for today. I am thinking that my legs are going to be pretty tired tomorrow after doing LBB and then 30 minutes of Rhythmic Step for the SS. It is going to be interesting to see how that turns out for 40/20 tomorrow.

Oh I forgot to mention we are back to cold and rainy today but not near as cold as Kim so I am not going to complain one bit. You really do keep me in perspective about that, Kim.;)

Jo-I can't help it...It is wonderful to hear from you!!! I am like Cendrine though with the lack of sleep. I know that every spare minute counts for you now so don't feel GUILTY!!! We know you will check in when you have a minute. Now on top of everything else you had to fit a dental appt. in there too! You are stretched aren't you! And it is nice to hear about "just you" so don't feel like your post are self indulged!
I am really loving the tractor too. I think yesterday was really the first time I was really all by myself with out DH shadowing me. I am sure he was nervous too but really it is becoming pretty easy to remember what does what. :D

Kim-The house is looking great. Is that some sort of ceramic tile? Is it carpet in the living room? It is really getting close!
Try not to be too nervous. At least you won't have to be doing any public speaking yet. I get nervous when it comes to things like that.
How are you doing on the Hiit. I haven't done one in a good while now and I know I was getting better at it when I was doing them regularly but of course it did vary from day to day.
The pork burger turned out very good! It was supposed to be a healthy recipe and I am sure it is better for you than some but not as good for you as others. I will post it.

Cendrine-I would have almost put money on the fact that you would get Nutrition Action. LOL I am definitely going to get it. I feel like I have a good grasp about things when it comes to nutrition but also know you can never know too much , right?
I am horrible when it comes to DH putting his 2 cents in about me maybe slacking off. I hate admit how it irritates me and that he is probably right but I have to figure it out in my own time too. I absolutely can relate with you on that one. I think the irritation is in part due to the frustration that I can not will my body to do what I want it to at that time. LOL Poor DH is just caught in the crossfire.

Going to go straighten the house.

I hope everyone is having a not too stressed day!;)

I only did my back exercises and Cathe pilates abs today as I am just not feeling well today. I'll try to go to bed early and get some good sleep to see if that is what it was... So, no cardio today....:(

Dd seems to be under it too, she actually went to have a nap, which she hasn't done in ages! So maybe something is in the air...

I did take the time to watch Twilight. All the moms from the wolf cub group are crazy about the series and they finally talked me into it.... :) Have any of you seen any of the movies? Now that I've seen the first one, I'm supposed to go watch the second one with a few others at someone elses house and then all of us will watch the last one... It's pretty funny. But I'm the kind of person that will watch just about anything, so it wasn't so bad, but dh did not, I repeat, NOT! want to watch it with me...LOL!

Jo, I forgot to say, I can't wait for the dehydrator recipe! Sounds great! I am thinking of buying a dehydrator recipe book because I just love trying out new stuff.

Rachel, I'm glad you got your dvds back! My chiropractor still has three of mine... but I didn't know how good she is about returning stuff, so I kept a copy. I'm sure she still has it, just hasn't gotten around to it because she does all these other cool workouts.

Kim, what did you end up making with your chicken last night?

Survived the first day. Although it was a bit emotional at times, it was really quite interesting. The other jurors seem like a good bunch, easy to talk with and very bright! They should be a good group to work with. We sure spend alot of time together! Now that I'm over all the jitters I think it should be quite an experience. One of the other jurors works at the same hospital (nuclear medicine) and said he had heard about my legal issues through the hospital grapevine.

GOt home really late as had to go all the way to MIL's to pick up the kids. DH and I did LBB but I don't see the 30 min tm run happening as it's almost bedtime!

Good morning. It is going to be a quickie since I have just a few minutes before my oatmeal is ready.
I did 40/20 today and I did really good, for me anyway. I was thinking I would not make it through very many all the way but I made it through most of them. The one that gets me is the butt kicks. When I had to take a break I noticed that Brenda was at the end of the step and just going side to side that way so that is how I completed it. It did make me not feel so bad though.

I have a hair appt. this morning and dh is going to eat lunch with his dad so at least we are getting out of the house today.

I will be back to post later.
Have a great day.

OK back from hair...now what. LOL

It's funny I realized this morning how lucky I was to have my routine of getting up in the mornings and working out. It keeps me going. It is my reason to get up in the morning and I think everyone needs that.
DH talked to a man from the company we usually sub from today. It sounds like they are not going to have anything going for a while. It makes me glad that we are well known in our line of work in this area that way we are able to work for other companies as well. I try not to worry about it too much but it does make you wonder how long this dry spell is going to last. It is sort of like that saying out of sight out of mind. I was not thinking about the lack of work too much but when you hear it from the horses mouth, you kind of get reminded about how desperate times are.
OK enough of that...

Cendrine-DH and I are probably watching the newest twilight movie tonight. He watches to make fun of it. I watch it because I read the books. I am not really a fan of the movies but now I feel invested so I have to finish. I just wish they would have ended it with the 4th movie, like the books but they split the last movie into 2 parts. They just have to get that money, I guess...Ride that horse to the finish line.
I hope you are feeling better today and not worse. DD must have not been herself if she was wanting a nap.

Kim-I am so glad you got the first day over with and now are looking more forward to the process. It would have been horrible if it was a bad day and you knew you had 5 more weeks of that.
Isn't it funny how fast gossip spreads? There is no telling how the story is now. That is how those stories do...they grow until they are a figment of what they used to be.

Jo-I hope you are getting some rest and all A's!!!

Kim, I'm so glad to hear that the first day wasn't all bad! It's also nice that you seem to have a good group of jurors! But am I right, that you actually aren't allowed to talk about the case? What do you end up talking about, just getting to know each other?
By the way, I meant to comment earlier, how cute I think it is that your dd chooses a different cathe cooldown each time and rates it!

Rachel, I think I would feel a bit nervous about not knowing how long the dry spell is going to last! You have such a great attitude, though, and just keep on going, that's awesome!

It was disk 6 for me today. I think I did really well, am starting to see good changes in my legs, so far I have been seeing it more in my arms and abs, but my legs seem to be catching on now too! So that is great! The band work on the bonus was tough. So was the inner thigh lift with the ankle weights. It's good I do each disk twice! Definitely room to improve! LOL!

Hey Jo, hope your tooth is all better!

Cendrine, My legs are always the last to jump on the band wagon of change too so I am right there with you. It is great when you finally get to see a change.
On the dry spell, I go in and out of bouts of nervous and then not so nervous. Dh and I have saved and padded ourselves for this sort of thing but it stinks when it actually happens and you start thinking you might have to actually get into that savings. Even if that is what it is there for. I guess it starts feeling real when that happens. Does that make sense?

Probably just a movie night here so nothing exciting. It is just too "cold" outside to do anything. (the quotes are for Kim!;))
Tomorrow is a double workout with athletic step and MMA kickboxing (i think) so I will have to get my rest . LOL

Oh my gosh I got 100% on my Statistics test! I really didn't think I did that well!!! Whoohoo! That's the hardest test I've taken since I started back to school! Woooowheee!

Kim, I'm so glad your first day went okay! I was thinking about you when I was working on employee reviews! :D

Rachel, that's great that you guys are building a name for yourselves! That'll carry you a long way!

Cendrine, you little STSer! Hope your back is still doing good!;)

DH and Ibo went clamming and fishing with some friends - I, of course, have to stay home since they won't be back until Sunday. It's okay though as I suck at clamming. I told DH to take lots of pictures of Ibo running in the surf! He said he's already been lose on the beach and loving it! Mind you, our beaches aren't like Cendrine's beaches! Ours is might cold! LOL!

Back to do more homework, just wanted you to know that was the hardest 100 I've achieved! Ahhh!!!

Sorry this won't be much of a post as I'm tired!
I have to say court is an emotional rollercoaster, some very sad parts today. It's going to be a long few weeks.:(:( If anyone ever wants to follow the case it seems to be in the paper daily (winnipeg free press) but I have to warn you that there has been some graphic details released.

Workouts today include
athletic step
30 min on tm (to make up for yesterday)
MMA kickboxing.

Extra driving as I had to pick up the kid's from MIL's place (she's been great about picking them up:D from school but she takes them to her place which is closer to the new house/school but the court day is a much longer day so we get home about 1.5 hours later than we usually do. ) Still super stupid cold and I just can't even seem to feel warm except when I'm working out.

I'm just so glad that tomorrow is Saturday and a rest day, only a few things to do (groceries, piano lessons, eye doctor's and packing;))

Jo Congrats on the test, I'm sure it feels great after working so hard! Thanks for your support! Hope you get some time off over the weekend to relax!

Rachael I'm sure it's hard not to worry about the work situation, sounds like you have made some good arrangements for these times though! I think you asked me about the HITT a couple days ago? I'm doing okay with them but they are very similar to the Insanity series which I did recently so that probably helped. The flooring is actually linoleum (?sp) that looks like tile. The kids stopped by with MIL after school and told me that the the carpet, and laminate are down now. There was no carpet in the picture, I was just taking a pic of the fireplace but the kids tell me there is a carpet now.

Cendrine Actually the other jurors are the only people we are allowed to talk to about the case. So we have alot of time in the jury room (small room that we can't leave) and are spending lots of time discussing the evidence as we have heard LOTS these last 2 days. I've never read/watched the Twilight series but I know some friends that really enjoy the series.

Rachel, I agree with Kim, you guys are so smart to plan for down times like this! But I also agree with you, when you have to tap into those resources, it's becoming real...

Jo, Congrats on your hardest earned A+ to date! You definitely are going to be on the top of the Dean's list! I wouldn't be any good at clamming either! Dh's parents have a little place on hood canal and we went there once, dh got some clams and lots of oysters (not my thing) and I didn't exactly help him...LOL!
I hope you get some good study time as well as downtime in while you are by yourself!

Kim, I read the last two articles of the case online and I can only imagine how hard it must be to be exposed to all this with real faces and pictures and all that! I guess since you can talk to the jurors, it must make for some very interesting conversations!
I'm glad your MIL is able to help out with the kids! Sorry that the drive delays your evening routine so much. I'm impressed that you made up for yesterdays cardio! I plan on making up for yesterday's cardio with an extra long tm workout tomorrow myself!
I think if it was so cold here as it is there, I would probably walk around with a battery operated heating blanket all day.... LOL (if such a thing exists)

Good Saturday!

Todays workout was Athletic Step and MMA kickboxing and I am ready for my rest day tomorrow too Kim. I know if I had been working this whole time I would not have been able to do half of the workouts as written in this rotation. What is crazy though to me is that I think my body might just be getting used to these long workouts. Yesterday when I did the Hiit, it was tough, but I felt I might have had a little more in me. It was certainly nice though to have a shortened workout day in the midst of all these super long ones.

So far today has been mopping and laundry. It seems like I am mopping all the time now but when the dogs come in as much as they do, the floors tend to take the brunt of their dirt so since I have all this extra time, I feel guilty I guess if their are puppy paws prints all over the place. Of course there is also the hair that if I let get out of hand will make my sinuses act up...its worth it though to see their little wagging tails all over the place.

Kim-It is tough enough to just hear the details of a case like that and I can not imagine having to process the images too. I am glad there are 11 (?) other people there to help get through it.
I though the floor in the living area looked like concrete but wasn't sure. I bet you are excited to get to see what the laminate and carpet looks like.

Jo-What a smarty you are!!! It sounds like you even surprised yourself this time although you should be getting used to those straight A's...LOL I don't know if that is even possible.
How are you going to spend your weekend alone? I hope you get some downtime to do some spinning!!!!!:D

Cendrine-The battery operated blanket sounds like a great idea. If they don't have it you should patent it. LOL
I hope you are feeling better. Did you stay on track with your workouts?

It took some good talking to myself to get me moving today... But I am happy to report my workout is done! TM walk and stability ball abs. Still doing great on those pikes, it just tickles me that I'm doing so well on them!

Dh and ds need to work on their pinewood derby car today, race is in a week! They enjoy the event all through wolf cubs, but they sure have been procrastinating making it... LOL!

But first we are heading out for lunch. The kids have never been to soupplantation, so they wanted to go (dh was there for work last week and brought home some brownies, so they think it must be a cool place....) LOL!

Rachel, I had my Friday afternoon free, so I did all my mopping and laundry yesterday. It's a nice change not to have to do it today!

Kim, enjoy your weekend and don't think about the case!

Jo, I hope you get to go spinning, if it's the only thing you do this weekend!
