Cathlete
Good morning!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I just finished Step Blast and yesterday was Butts and Guts ( I switched it with L & G from later in the week so that I could do the longer workout on the weekend)

Less room in in my workout space as dd decided to put up the Christmas tree. I know it's early but as we were bringing stuff back from storage at my mom's she saw the Christmas decorations and wanted it up. She did most of it herself and then wrapped some of the gifts that I bought on our bus trip. It's early but at least I didn't have to do it. She did it while I was doing Butts and Guts so she was good company with me during that long workout.

Jo I sure hope you're getting some time to relax over the weekend. Is the office move this week?

Cendrien The medieval dinner sounds interesting! We went to one in Florida many years ago. Did the kids like it???

Rachael Hope you had a nice visit with your niece and nephew!

Good Sunday!

Not too much going on here...I think Dh and I are about to start a fire and burn some brush. We have been sort of lazy around here today so it is probably about time we did something:rolleyes:

Other than that nothing much to talk about..

Kim-How sweet that dd wanted the tree up. That is the one thing I miss about having kids around....Their Christmas enthusiasm! There is nothing like it.

Cendrine-Yes I was in total shock that you were ordering out for Thanksgiving...LOL But I totally understand. Not just for all the reasons you listed but too it is a lot of work for just the 4 of you. I think it is a great idea.

Jo-You poor thing, working on the weekend. With your schedule I am just glad you can pop in to say Hello! We miss you and are sending you some relaxing vibes even though there is no telling when you are going to get to use them!

Off to be a pyro...Have a great afternoon!

So, how is that fire coming, Rachel....;) You'd be in serious trouble if you tried anything like that here....LOL! I'm feeling good about you understanding our ordering out.... It's kind of weird to do, I have never done it before... It better be good, otherwise it will be the last time too...LOL:rolleyes:

Kim, Butts and Guts and christmas decorations, sounds like a fun combo! My kids would be all over this if I pulled down the decorations, too! We kind of traditionally do it on the day after Thanksgiving though... Medival times was fun for the kids. Honestly, I thought they could have come up with a better plot and easier understandable dialogue, not only was it old (but I guess authentic) language, it was also hard to understand, the actors did not enunciate very well and the sound system could have been better. The food was served sans utensils, like they supposedly served it way back when, funny enough, dd had a problem with that.... The menu was tomato soup they served as dragon's blood, then there was a half a roasted chicken presented as baby dragon, baked potato and spare ribs, with an apple turnover for dessert. I had the soup, chicken and potato, but skipped the rest. Saving my calories for chocolate....LOL! The kids were fascinated even though they probably didn't get much more of the story line than that a prince was taken in a dungeon and knights were fighting to get him out and reunite him with his princess... There was some horse showmanship with different tricks and things the horses could do and of course the jousting and even a falcon flying though the dining hall.

Jo, I hope you are doing well and catching your breath!

Well, I absolutely HAD to workout today. So, got up at 6:30 so I could have a bite to eat and coffee to go to spinning. Left for the gym at 7:30 and inbetween 6:30 and 7:30, changed the sheets and got the laundry started. Came home, showered, went to the office for a couple hours. Came home, studied nutrition for 2 hours then took my nutrition mid-term - another 3.5 hours! In between, trying to do laundry. There's more but that's the bulk of my day! We start moving Thursday afternoon - can't wait to get this over with! Of course, it's happening the week of mid-terms. I'll try and take my accounting mid-term Wednesday night or I may have to forego TBL this week and do it Tuesday night.

Kim, I love it that your decorations are up! Like Cendrine, we usually do it the day after Thanksgiving if we're going to be home. But I have no idea what we're doing! We usually just put up a tree. We don't get company and no one can see our house so we don't do anything else. I used to when SS was little but he's not interested. Ahh...B&G! My butt hurts thinking about it! :D

Rachel, we used to have a burn pile...love to burn! LOL! Thank you for sending me the relaxing vibes! I need them! Are you working tomorrow?

Cendrine, the medieval sounds like fun! I can imagine though the kids not really getting it! LOL!

Actually, in spite of all that's going on, I am very organized! (Oh but the house needs cleaning!) I am glad we're moving before Thanksgiving because it's always real quiet at work Thanksgiving week so that's give us a chance to get the office organized, unpacked, etc. We're only moving a couple of miles so it has minimal effect on my commute. As it is, I only commute about 5 miles (but tons of traffic on those 5 miles).

Off to bed, I can barely keep my eyes open! ;):eek::p:confused::eek::rolleyes:;):p

Hello hello!

Well I have been cleaning ninja today and still have lots to do so I thought I would just pop in to check in and then back to it..

It was L&G for me this morning and that is such a fast paced workout. I seem to always forget that. At least it goes by fast though.

DH is in Shreveport LA today and for the rest of the week helping a guy shoot a short film. He is so excited and me to to get a little time to get the house in shape with no one here. It is so hard to clean a round a lump of coal...haha He is not as helpful with those sorts of chores (Jo;))

Cendrine-I thought it was funny that you felt better about ordering in your meal...I totally understand! And just think, Christmas is right around the corner so if it isn't that great (I am sure it will be) then you would have another holiday to make up for it! Hope you are having a great day!

Jo-I am exhausted just hearing everything you have going on! I hope it all gets sorted out at the office so you can concentrate on school and maybe get back to some semblance of a regular routine.

Kim-I bet it is weird to know that your house is sold and you don't have to be always preparing to sell it...:DHave you felt more relaxed now?

The burning went great...We got 2 huge brush piles burned...I told DH too bad we didn't have any marshmallows! :p

It's a bad headache day for me...:( Kind of in a daze, but I did feel good when I worked out, headache set on later. I did my usual tm time and then did Gymstyle legs. It was great to do so many leg exercises that I don't usually do, but boy am I going to feel it tomorrow!

Jo, your day recap just makes my head spin! The stuff you managed to get done in one day is amazing! Way to go fitting in the gym as well!

Rachel, I was doing some cleaning too... And made cookies again, they seem to disappear way too fast!

Hi Kim!

Monday - YAHOO!
I'm still at the office doing more packing. Slept like a baby last night though!

Rachel, way to go on the cleaning! I'll get to that eventually! HA! L&G sounds good. I need to do either to B&G or L&G. I love both of those workouts...along with Disc 3! Yes, enjoy that time alone to get everything the way you want it! How far are you from Shreveport? That sounds like a million miles away!

Cendrine, oh I hope your headache is short lived! I feel for you! I have an old Leslie Sansone workout (the only one I have) that's a jog/walk interval workout. I usually do that when I have a touch of a headache but feel I can still workout. Get some rest and feel better! Not a fun way to start the week!

Hi Kim!

Just finished PLB, I haven't done this workout in a super long time!! It's still tough!

Gloomy grey Monday here. Everyone seems very low energy today.

Rachael The fire sounds like fun! We did lots of brush burning out at the cottage on Thanksgiving. I always enjoy it. I am feeling much more relaxed now that we have a move in date and the house sold!

Jo It's good thing that Thanksgiving is coming soon, you will need the holiday!

Hope you're feeling better soon Cendrine!

Good Morning Everyone! Tuesday it is!

We had a big storm blow through her last night with high winds and tons of rain - a lot of people are/were without power but it made me sleep like a baby! LOL! (We didn't lose power!)

Not much going on yet this morning but I did sleep too late. Kim I'm with ya on the gray and gloomy!

TTYL!

Not gray and gloomy here....;) Beautiful fall weather...

I didn't get rid of my headache until sleeping it off, but am feeling better today. But my back is acting up... go figure....

Anyway, nothing much else to report here, just plugging along. Next week we are taking a week off, so I'm looking forward to that!

Well we are in between here...part of the day it was gloomy and part of the day it was sunny. It really couldn't make up it's mind!!! I had to get some errands out of the way so I have been in town most of the day. I was amazed at how many Christmas shoppers there were. Everywhere I looked people's buggies were brimming over! I am really leaning toward internet shopping this year. Esp. for the things that I am absolutely positive will not need to be returned for any reason! Cendrine, any pointers or good sites you rely on for the kids...or anyone for that matter?
The family has decided to do a "dirty Santa" or white elephant party so now I have to come up with 2 gifts for that. I am such a bad shopper. I really never feel like I just nail it, if you know what I mean.

This morning it was Step Blast and I was doing "alright:rolleyes:" until DH came in a couple of times to ask me questions...This is why I love to work out when I know he is gone or asleep. I guess I will definitely have to peel myself out of bed a little earlier tomorrow.

Jo-I saw something on that storm on the news this morning. It sounded like it was pretty bad. Normally if I am already sleeping I sleep like a baby through those too.

Cendrine-Just curious on the cookies? I am getting in the baking mood but really need to watch it and choose some healthy recipes. I am in the mood for a pumpkin something!

Kim-PLB is on tap for me tomorrow. I have a hard time with that one because I have 2 bb's One is an olympic bar that is 45#'s and the other is a smaller bar that is about 10#'s I really hate the latter bar but I have to use it for alot of PLB so I can really utilize the increments.
Are the holidays over till Christmas for yall?

Have a great night!

Sorry Rachel, I have no pumpkin cookie recipes at all... But I do have a pumpkin waffle recipe, if you are interested. Also, you could make pumpkin bread and sub out the butter for coconut oil, sucanat for sugar, that kind of thing and bake them in mini muffin shapes to make nice serving sizes...
Dh is absolutely addicted to the healthy whole wheat ginger bread cookie I make for him. I made a double batch last time because he goes through them so fast!
But for me, one of my faves, healthy even if not low cal is the almond butter chocolate chip recipe I told you guys about. It's really hard to stop!

What age group are you shopping for for kids? I get almost all my toy shopping done online. Here's a few names we have ordered from before

Toys to grow on
Young Explorers
Ebeanstalk
Hearthsong
Magic Cabin
Back to Basics Toys
Mind Ware

they have great stuff up till about age 12, but shopping for teenagers gets a lot harder... and more expensive...LOL:rolleyes:

Whoo what a day! Since DH is away for the day I had a good chance to get caught up and have some girl time with a gf. So we went to town (again in town:rolleyes:) Had lunch and did a little shopping. Nothing major. I think it is funny that I went to town yesterday and happened upon some great jeans on clearance for 6$!!!!and then today I found some more for 6$!!!That is just too weird! They are not really jeans. They are more canvasy...I am not sure what category they fall under but they remind me of something you would see Jennifer Aniston wearing in one of those photographs of her with her dogs on the beach. Just really comfy but still presentable. I have no idea how to describe them. lol

Today was PLB. By the time I got to the squats my shoulders and traps were fried from holding the bb so I did those with db's. I am like you though, Jo, in the way that I prefer doing squats with a bb but I was just worn out by that time and there was no use in trying to get that bar over my head!

Cendrine-I knew you would have some go to toy sites. I have the whole day to check them out tomorrow. I have 2 nephews, one in 4 and one is 11 so still at the right age. My niece is a lot harder since she is 13. I am at a loss to what to get for her.
I have made a really good pumpkin cookie before but it was way before I cared what was in it. I never thought about the coconut oil sub. Does that work for everything?

Kim and Jo-I hope yall aren't to busy to enjoy a good workout! Have a great day!

Rachel, so far, whenever I have subbed coconut oil for butter it has worked just fine, and I have had great results subbing wholewheat flour as well if it called for white flour. You can even replace half of the fat with applesauce in most recipes and get away with it. I have applesauce in my favorite brownie recipe and it is all the more moist for it and you can't tell from the flavor. Sucanat and agave are great subs for sugar, if you use agave, you may need a tad bit more flour since it's liquid.

Nice deal on the jeans! I love good deals like that!
I hope you find some good stuff on the websites I gave you!

I did Gym style back biceps and shoulders today. I overdid it, but luckily I got a massage at the chiro's at lunch.... feeling much better now! LOL!

Hi Kim and Jo!

Nothing exciting here. My legs are sore after 3 leg workouts in 5 days! Did KPC yesterday and L&G this morning. Will try and finish the last workout of week 2 tomorrow.

So have you got any sunshine this week Jo? There is a snowfall warning in effect for tomorrow. Not looking forward to the driving.

Rachael Isn't it annoying when someone tries to talk during a step workout! It's hard to not trip the over step while talking! Well no more formal holidays until Christmas but we have the week in Mexico:D Great shopping deals!! I really need some new jeans as my favourite one just got a hole in them.

Cendrine The massage sounds great! How is your DH's foot healing??

Hi Girls! It's 10:00 and I just finished accounting midterm. Another long day of packing. One of my employees took a picture of me on a ladder pulling cable out of the ceiling so I'll post that when she sends it to me! The people come tomorrow to start tearing down our cubicles and then the movers will be there Friday. So I will be at the office late tomorrow night and probably most of the weekend. I'm glad I got midterms overwith so I can focus on work move.

Rachel, $6 jeans! LUCKY! That's a great deal. Also, I can imagine what kind of pants you got. Are they cargo pants? It's probably similar to some I've gotten from Eddie Bauer. They're lighter weight then jeans but very functional - great for hiking or just looking CUTE! LOL!

Yeah, I can't believe how early Xmas is starting! I see neighbors who already have trees up and they're playing Xmas music on the radio! Maybe it's a sign of the economy improving...people are feeling more Xmasy!

Cendrine, sounds like your headache must have vamoosed since you did GS! ooohhh and a nice massage! I feel like I've really been getting my workouts in with all the stuff I've been doing at work. Unfortunately I can't do spinning at all until Sunday. I was at work late last night and tomorrow...boohhooo.

Kim, no, it's been raining cats and dogs here and we're supposed to get a light snow on Saturday. It won't be in downtown Seattle, but we're up higher so we'll get it here. I doubt it'll be enough to keep us from doing anything. Just a little like sugar on a doughnut! LOL! :p What did you think of TBL? I wish Elizabeth would get sent home! I'm like you, I'm not bonding with the contestants this time. Heavy game players this time. I liked the LOVE last time better! LOL!

Okay, I need to get some rest! Tomorrow will be a long day!

Good morning...It is gloomy gloomy here too. No rain just those darn clouds and a really cool wind. I am thinking a really good movie day. DH shoot got called off till tomorrow so he is here today. I was hoping for some sunshine so we would feel like doing some leaf raking but this weather makes me either want to read or curl up with a good movie.

I did get KPC done today. Kim I am feeling all these leg workouts too. I B&G tomorrow and am wondering how I am going to fair with it. I was feeling PLB this morning when I was doing KPC so ugghhh tomorrow.

So not too much going on today.

Cendrine-Good thing you had a chiro date so maybe they could undo anything you did..lol I have noticed I have been keeping a really stiff neck for the last few months. Due to that, I have been trying to concentrate on loosening up but all the time I will catch myself holding tension there while working out.
DId you just trial and error it with the baking or did you do some internet research to get the right ratios. Everytime I have baked with ww flour it hasn't quite turned out like I had hoped. A lot denser.

Jo-It sounds like you are rounding the bend on the last lap and are heading toward the finish line. I know you are going to take an extra spin to celebrate. lol
And yes I have no idea why I could not think of 'cargo pant'... Of course that is exactly what they are and I am wearing a pair right now. I thought DH wouldn't like them at all but he said they were "cool" so I guess they passed the husband test...haha

Kim-My favorite wear around here jeans got a hole in the knee not too long ago. So annoying...I have had them forever though so I guess I got enough from them. I am almost certain I got them on sale for 5 $ too. But they have lasted me at least 5 yrs so I figure a dollar a year isn't too bad right? lol

Off to see what is going on today...

Good Morning! I'm up - got my standard issue work clothes on - tshirt, jeans and my tennies! LOL! And, I'm off!...

I guess we're all getting hit with some gloomy weather - oh except our California girl! LOL! Hope you're better today Cendrine!

Rachel, you curl up if you can today! Hey, you should take some pictures to post for us! LOL! My DH likes my cargo pants too! My one pair though seems to really grow as the day goes on so I have to wear a belt with them. It's weird because they don't have any stretchy stuff in them. I love them though! I have them in capri pants too. It's funny when I hike because lots of times you need long pants because of the terrain, but I'm way more comfortable in shorts when I hike (even if it's cold). I guess my knees like to be free! LOL!

Okay, off to get busy! Hi Kim and Cendrine!

Jo, it's getting close to the end now for you, isn't it? How long do you think it will take you to get settled at the new office? Moving out is one thing, but moving in takes a long time too! High fives for getting all your school things done! You are power woman!

Rachel, when I sub I usually do oz for oz or cup for cup, I don't have the patience to go look for conversions....LOL! When using ww you need to be aware of two things as far as I can tell. 1 the flavor of white flour is next to nothing, ww flour has a flavor so it is going to mess a bit with the flavoring, maybe add a bit more vanilla or lemon zest or spices of whatever the recipe calls for. 2. ww flour is more dense because from what I have read there isn't much gluten in it, so a teaspoon or more of gluten added will work to help it be less dense, plus you might like to add more baking powder or yeast to help the weight get to rise like normal. Since baking powder and yeast don't really have flavor, I don't worry too much about adding more.
You are the cheap pant goddess! It has been a long time since I got a 5.- pair of pants! LOL! Then again, I can't remember the last time I went to the sales rack or a garage sale either....

Kim, dh just signed up for the gym that opened up here to try to get back in shape before picking up taekwondo again.... He has pt still and trying to do the exercises at home when he can't go, but it's a bit slow because work is so crazy for him. Poor guy. I don't know how long I could handle intensity at work like he does. I guess he doesn't really have a choice....

Jo I t was so weird that you said something about taking pics to post for yall because I was thinking about that this morning but then DH and I headed to town (AGAIN:rolleyes:) for some things he needed. I then decided on the spur of the moment that I was going to get started on redoing my gym room while he is off for the next few days. I got the joint compound for the walls so I think I will try to start that tomorrow. I do have hair tomorrow though so I will just have to see how far I get.
I was going to ask if y'all have to change the size of your pics to make an album. It takes a super long time from some reason for my pics to upload that way and I always get interrupted and have to quit before they are finished. Is it normal for it to take a long time?
Oh and toooo funny about free knees! We don't have a lot of hiking areas around here but the little I have got to do, I can see how any climbing hiking would be better with Free Knees!:p

Cendrine, I was always nervous with baking to add a little of this or that...esp. when it came to baking powder or yeast thinking that it would totally fowl everything up. You don't know how many times I have heard that "baking is an exact science". I think that is why I have always been a little leary of just messing around. I did not feel like I knew the science behind it, you know? So you don't know how enlightening that little bit of direction you gave me was...Thanks a lot! :)

So now that I have this project ahead of me, I feel like I have a little direction for a little while. Now though, I have to figure out exactly where I am going with it.
