~~~>STS 6 month Alumni-Dec.5<~~~Checkin
Awww...Happy Thursday...Back at ya Jo! and of course to all that follow too.
Sorry for the late post...DH had a job this morning and I started decorating for Christmas and then cleaning and on and on...you know how that goes.:rolleyes:I know I have said this but I do love cleaning an empty house! ANd now it is all Christmasy too. I mainly decorated the mudroom since that is the new entrance. It looks very warm and inviting with all the new stuff in there. It is almost sad how much Christmas stuff that I have that I don't use. I just can't bring myself to get rid of it:rolleyes: Since I don't put up a tree though, I really don't have a lot of use for all the ornaments but they are just too pretty to let go. haha
I did KPC this morning and just like last time I pooped out on the very last kick and punch combo and skipped to the abs. I am not sure if this is because I did not get good sleep last night or that my endurance just is not that great. I am guessing the latter since I had the same thing happen last time I did that workout all the way through.
Kim-Wow I learn something new from yall all the time! I had no idea that French and spanish were that similar. Were the kids surprised too or did they already know? That is really interesting!
Be as lazy as you can because you know when you get back it is the whole house move so kick back and relax!
Cendrine-Wow I am impressed that you are thinking about the STS rotation for next year! Are you going to do the rotation that includes the cardio too? I think it is great that you are finally feeling alot back to normal.
Jo-I hope your day has not been too stressful with the boss coming!
Have a great day all!
Another quick post...so last night when I got home, I walked in the house and now we've added a giant orthopedic dog bed to the collection! So all we're missing now is a dog and dog food! BBL!
I love that your kids are seeing the paralells of French and Spanish, Kim! That means they have a gift in that area, because not all people automatically see the similarities, though they certainly are there! I can figure out quite a few things too, from my french learning days when I see spanish stuff here even though I've never taken any Spanish lessons. It's so cool that your kids are bilingual! I always wished I was, I guess in a way I am now, but I always wanted to be bilingual growing up.;)
Jo, I guess the doggie is going to be sitting on the front step tomorrow with a bow around his neck....LOL! How fun! Sorry to hear you have another busy day!
Rachel, kickboxing takes more out of me than other types of cardio for some reason too, I don't think you aren't in shape, just giving it your all and feeling it!
I wouldn't say that I feel back to more normal, but from what I have observed, it seems it isn't exercise that makes me get flare ups, so I decided to just quit thinking my workouts have something to do with it and go with a plan.... I still know I can't do high impact although I'm really itching to do some, but at least I'm going to have a road mapped out! I do want to do the cardio too, but of course am going to have to modify. I don't know how I will modify the HiiT, but it will be fun figuring it out. I'm feeling more motivated than I have been in a while since deciding to do the 6month rotation again, who cares if I don't lift as heavy, I'm still doing it! :D
Sorry for the late post. I had to try and get some errands done in town before traffic got really bad. Since the town I go to is the biggest thing around for lots of people, there are a lot of commuters for Christmas shopping.
Not too much going on here right at the moment. I am waiting for DH to get home so we can get ready for his cousins graduation tonight from nursing school. I am very proud of her. She has really hung in there. She has had 2 children, and had a hospital stay when she got menengitis! (sp) She went all the way though. Tonight she will officially be an RN. Very proud, can you tell LOL
I did Step moves today since I needed a steady state workout and tomorrow will be High Reps. Then I will have completed all the new workouts. I think HR is the one that goes by song..?? I forget so it should be interesting.
SO other than that it is just another uneventful day for me.
Jo, when does that dog bed get a puppy to sleep on it!:D;)
Cendrine, I will have to think on the modifications of the Hiit...You might can kind of get ideas from the low impact Hiit on the new Intensity. My friend still has mine so I can't watch it to get any ideas.:rolleyes:
Kim, Did you get a good tan? I bet all your friends at work are going to be jealous of your sunkissed glow!LOL
Have a great night!
Rachel, I'm proud with you for your dh's cousin getting through all the obstacles to graduate! That's awesome! Definitely cause to celebrate!
The low impact HiiT on Intensity are not very many moves in my opinion, I guess it might get a bit boring doing those same moves for all the HiiT, but then, when I modify other step workouts where Cathe has jumps or hops in it I usually revert back to more basic stuff like knee ups and such, so that is kind of repetitive too, but still, I like it better than the tm all the time...LOL! So I guess I'll give the HiiT a try as well...;)
For workout I did 45 min of rhythmic step, which I really like a lot, and then I did the leg portion of the STS total Body dvd.
I need to get the laundry and floors and shopping done this afternoon since we will be out at a local artists Winter Festival tomorrow and I won't have time. The favorite thing about this festival is that they have a glass blowing station in the middle where you can watch a glass blower at work, it's mesmerizing and amazing! The kids love it too.
Home safe and sound (and tired!). Quick post as I have a hundred exciting things to do like laundry, groceries, unpacking:(:(
Posted some Mexico pictures. Making the Santa one into Christmas cards so that's why I did pictures before the other fun things.
My Cathe dvds are unthawing after being outside in the mailbox and hopefully I'll get a chance to try one out this weekend and have some time to catch up.
Welcome back, Kim! I can understand you are tired, with the jet lag and all the stuff you have to get done now that normal life is waiting....;)
Your pictures are awesome, it looks like you picked a really beautiful place to go! The hammock ds is in, that could be my spot for the duration of the vacation with a stack of books next to me! LOL! I love the pottery painting picture too! How did it turn out? And more importantly, did it survive the trip home?
I'm glad you came home to the cathe dvds! At least you had a pleasant welcome home gift in the mail!
I feel like such a bad friend as I haven't been able to post! Last night I finshed my last two quizes for both classes. Then tonight I just finished my last paper for nutrition (it's on genetically modified food) and then tomorrow opens for Finals. I want to get them both done this weekend. I hope to do Nutrition tomorrow and Accounting on Sunday. I actually have until Thursday to take them, but the quicker I get them done, the more time I'll have to get Xmas stuff done...and of course, the surgery is on Thursday. And, we have an appt to go see the doggies again tomorrow at noon!
Kim, your pictures look fun - I can feel that warm water! :D I'm so glad you got to go and relax! Now you can get ready to enjoy the remainder of the year. Can you believe it's almost over??? Oh, and what I posted to you in Spanish was: Hello Kim, how are you? Good? Are you going to watch TBL tonight? Hope you're having a great time!
Rachel, you have been a busy girl! HR is the one that's by song. I liked it alot! I'm going to get a lot of workouts in between now and Thursday. I'll bet your place looks really cute all decorated! You sound in the Xmas spirit!
Cendrine, you are really coming along on your workouts! I'm so impressed with how much you've been doing lately (besides being a two time celebrity!). ;) I'd be right there with you in a hammock and a stack of books...or rather you'd have the stack and I'd have my Kindle loaded up! LOL!
Alrighty, I'm going to start putting all my papers together to study for finals. Or, maybe I'll get back online and look at dog pictures! Talk to you all tomorrow! Oh, and yes, I half way expected to come home to a dog tonight! LOL!
Oh you guys! I keep forgetting to tell you this! How could I forget? :eek:
You remember my 100 lb gal. She's been hovering at 100 lbs lost for a few months. She still wants to lose 17 more pounds for a total of 117, but anyway, that hasn't happened yet. BUT...two weeks ago Sunday (Thanksgiving weekend), she and her DH ran the Seattle marathon! Can you believe it? She ran it in just over 5 hours. The weather here was terrible - that was when we were still recovering from snow and ice so it was below freezing and a long, cold, wet, hilly marathon. She had hoped to do it in about 4.5 hrs. Anyway, I'm so proud of her! She's been doing 10k's and half marathons every other week pretty much for the last few months. Her DH had started running with her back in May so he has been a great Support for her. He's like my DH (and looks like Kim's too) where he has a pretty long stride, but he ran with her the whole way and so they crossed the finish line holding hands! I just love it!!! Isn't that so wonderful?
Good Saturday!
It is gloomy here as we are waiting for another cold front to come in this afternoon so storms are on the horizon. This is how our weather goes...An almost 70 degree day and then it is 40 degrees, then gradually heats up over a few days and then it is 40 again.:rolleyes: So it is flip flops and sweaters! LOL
High Reps today and I loved this workout! I really was not sure if I would like it but it moved so fast , just like you said Jo, and I felt like every body part got a good workout! I think Cathe has reinvented herself again! I really like the new plate moves!
Today we have a birthday party for my nephew at 2:30. It is the one that live with my brother in laws parents. I think I told yall about that whole situation. I think it is getting a lot better though because this year my whole side of the family is invited too. I think my parents and his parents might actually be growing up.:rolleyes: I am just glad that maybe everyone can be civil for a day.
Kim-I love the place yall went too. It looks like they provide plenty of entertainment for all ages. What was the name again of the resort?
I am sure the temperature change was a shock to the system for a minute when you got home after being in a swim suit and shorts all week but what a great break from winter, right;)
Cendrine-The glass blowing sounds so cool. I love stuff like that too. It almost seems like an old art form and it is nice that people are still doing it and seeing the beauty in it.
So have you decided if you are doing a Whole Foods Christmas? I normally do Christmas cookies for people around here, I guess I have procrastinated getting started on that this year...oops
Jo-I am on the edge of my seat to hear about the doggies today. I showed DH the link and all he could say was "awww" haha He loves dogs too. He was very impressed that Nixi was an import from Germany.
Have you decided how your workouts are going to play out this week? Mon. starts with Intensity but I am thinking about moving it to tomorrow since we have to be up very early on Mon to take the car in.:eek:
Hope you are all getting some sunshine because we aren't! haha Have a great day!
I MADE AN ALBUM!!!!!
I know I feel stupid after I realized how easy it was to resize my pics. My camera takes pics that are so big I guess Cathe's site can not resize them automatically. I know it is a jumble but it is all I had time to do for now. I will post more later. Promise!!!;)
Whooop Whooop! I'm awesome! LOL Just kidding! TTYL
Yay, Rachel, you made an album!!!!:D:D:D:D
Your pets look very comfy, life with you agrees with them! Is that a pic of your mudroom an the indian doors, I think you called them? looks very nice! And all made by yourself too! Is that pic of you and dh taken by your dh holding out his arm to take it? ;) Thanks for sharing the pics, it's so fun to see you, your dh and your pets and the surroundings!
We got back from the Winter Festival a little while ago. The kids had a blast. The sat and fed several guinea pigs and bunnies at the petting zoo, held a chicken, made a starfish ornament, got to make castles with very artsy handmade wood blocks that the artist had for sale, got to sit on Santa's lap, have popcorn and hot chocolate and watch the glass blower make an amazing vase! I also ran into a friend I hadn't seen in 7 years, she had a booth at the festival with clothing made out of recycled clothes. Very creative, but not quite my style. When the kids get older, I'll have some time to look at some of the art work more rather than hit all the kid oriented stations....LOL! They already requested to go back ;)
Jo, I would be very interested to read your paper on the genetically modified food! And just so you know, you are not a bad friend for being busy! And you had me smiling with your hammock-Kindle comment;)
Kim, are you caught up yet with real life.... I hope you get some time to recover from trying to catch up....
Ds has a basketball game tonight. He's taking a nap to get ready for it because last night, I let him read before bed, and I told him since it was the weekend, he could read as many chapters as he wanted.... So he promptly read a whole book! LOL! And of course stayed up much longer than usual:D
Yeah Rachel!!! You did it! Love seeing some pictures! Your pups are so cute and adorable picture of you and your DH! Now we all know who we are! LOL!!! :p;):D:):cool::eek:
Okay, it's been a long day...doggie visit (more in a minute) then 3 hours of study, then 3.5 hours of taking my nutrition final. (It was hard.) So tomorrow, I'll get up and study for Accounting and then knock that one out. I'm very ready for this to be done and have a break!
Alright, so we went out to the dog place. Nixi has been bought (deposit on her anyway) and DH really wants a male. So, of course, Ibo is the other choice. So he came out and we played with him (it's raining of course) so I came prepared in clothes and boots and ready to get muddy. And I did! LOL! Anyway, the breeder asked if we wanted to take him down to the lake and walk him, etc. So we did. He loves water and is so obediant but he's also a tracker so is tracking the whole time we walk. DH tried running with him and he would be awesome to run with if I could start doing that. I'll tell you DH wouldn't be uncomfortable with me alone on the trails if I had him with me. He is so beautiful - the picture on the website doesn't do him justice. When he jumped into the crate in the back of DH SUV, he just jumped right in and layed down. So we had him out for about an hour then took him back and told her we think we want him but need to figure out a couple of things. Long story short, we want him but are trying to make sure he's the right dog. Like Nixi, he's from Germany and so we have to learn all his commands in German. That's not an issue, but also he's 5 and we wanted a dog that was a little younger. So we're just trying to make sure he's the one! BUT I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM!!
Cendrine, one quick note on the genetically modified foods paper. It was short paper and answered specific questions we had to answer for this week. But, I decided that when I do my research paper next spring, which I have to do for some English class, this is the topic I want to do it on. If you're interested, after I finish my final, I'll post a bunch of the websites I found. There are so many pros and cons, you don't know what to believe!! So I really want to research this further!:D
Rachel, I'm glad you like HR! I know it's one of those that moves so fast you go "really...it's over?" LOL! Oh yeah...sunshine...what's that? :eek::cool: We've just had a couple of major storms come through in the last 3 days and another one is happening right now. We'll have flood watch starting tomorrow as we're supposed to get another inch tonight! Welcome La Nina!
Alright, time for bedding bye for me...me brain is tired! :p
