stretch questions

Should I see faster results if I do a thorough stretch every day as opposed to ever other day? Or do muscles need a day off from stretching like with lifting weights?

If I use the same stretch video everytime is that okay?

When I stretch my hamstrings I begin by finding a comfortable position. I feel a twinge after I've held that position for a second. I don't feel the twinge when I'm putting the leg into that position, so I didn't think I was overextending/overstretching. Maybe I am and it takes my body a second to tell me.?
Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been very faithful for nearly 3 weeks now, but don't see any improvements in my hamstring flexibility. I even hold them longer than the video. The video is KVoight's Pure and Simple Stretch.

Thanks everyone.

Hello, I am not Cathe and I don't have the answer to your questions, but I have a few comments to make on stretching from my experience.

I do Tamilee Webb's Beginners Stretch for flexibility and Relaxation most days. I have noticed that if I train heavy my muscles get so stiff that without lots of stretching, and I mean lots, I lose flexibility. Tamilee's video have helped me prevent that, but I haven't gone any further in flexibility. I hold the stretches for a little longer and/or do them again. The day after my hard workout and every time my muscles are sore from a workout, I keep stretching them doing simple stretches you can do everywhere, any time.

I don't think anyone has been able to do a stretch video that really makes you feel stretched after you've done it. I never feel any stretches of any video are enough and I am not a very flexible person. Just average, I think.

Also, I have noticed that when I do excercises with a full range of motion, I have little or no stiffness afterwards.

Hamstring is the area that I never feel the stretches. Most hamstring stretches I feel them only in the calves. I wonder if it has something to do with the way my legs are. When I stand straight my knees automatically lock. It is nothing that I do on purpose; it is just the way my body is. I never feel lower back stretches either, though.
