strength vs. endurance?

Hi educated crowd,
I don't post very often, but I am constantly on the site, as I have learned so much from this site.

I have been working out for about 15 years. I have been doing mostly classes at the gym, kickboxing, step, total body conditioning, etc.. I moved to NY from Miami about 2 yrs. ago and started working out at gym which didn't really offer any good total body conditioning classes. I started going to one class that was similiar in style to Circuit Max, but it was only once a week. In the last 6 months, I have become a total Cathe fanatic. I usually do strength or endurance videos 2 or 3 times a week and the other days are kickboxing, step or intervals.

I am 5'2, 125 pds. and 21% body fat. I would really love to lose 5-10 pds. and get rid of the extra fat. I carry all of my weight in my hips, thighs and butt. I have a very small waist, but my lower body is big in comparison to the rest of my body. I am really trying to focus on my legs, as they are the area where I have the most fat. I have been doing leaner legs and I just started S&H, I also started bodyrx about 2 wks. I think that leaner legs is better for me in terms of trimming down, I feel like going heavier with S&H is just making my legs look bigger. Dr. Connolly believes that everyone will see advantages when they lift heavier and forego cardio. Has this been anyone else's experience? I really feel that if I use leaner legs with 8-10 pd. weights and a 30 pd. barbell for squats that I get much better results. I am thinking of bagging the bodyrx thing and going back to a rotation with LL 2x a week. I do think it is a good program, but I would like to be cut and lean. I was curious as to what works for other people with similiar body compositions.
