Strength training to prevent pre-diabetes

Here is an interesting article from Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen about the benefits of strength training for pre-diabetes. I have known about the benefits of cardio for pre-diabetes and depression, but I had not known that strength training is also a very useful tool for preventing that debilitating disease. I just thought I would share that.:)
 
I've known a few people that have been pre-diabetic and diabetic that started focusing on weight training instead of cardio and now all 3 of them (including my husband) no longer have sugar issues. For them, cardio of any sort was boring so they lifted. Now all are in good health. Strength training does more for the body that I think most give credit for.
