Strength before cardio - same workout

Hi!! I’m an OnDemand user and don’t have access to Fit Split yet; I can’t wait!! Whenever I do cardio and strength in the same workout, but not as a circuit I always do the strength first. If I do cardio first my energy is usually depleted and it gets real ugly real fast when I try to get those weights up. Does anyone else experience this? Thanks!

It's a good question...one that I asked myself recently during To the Max Extreme premix. I bailed on the second round of Compound Legs and went straight to the ab section, but wondered if Compound Legs came first, would have I been able to complete the entire workout. :)

Yes, except bear in mind that the point, I think, about compound legs at that section of the workout is not to thoroughly strength train the legs, right? But rather to add to the cardio effect but changing up the impact by adding weight to the moves of the largest muscle groups in the body, hence also upping the afterburn effect. Sorry if this is explaining something to you that you already understood just fine all on your own! Don't mean to be preachy. Sorry! (what's the Cathlete version of mansplaining?!?!) I agree though: first time I did TTM, I got to the compound legs section and found it more difficult than if we had just continued with step cardio blasts. Weird stuff.

I think next time I do that workout, I will stick with 6 pound dumbbells for the compound legs instead of trying to go with 8s. My shoulders are just not strong enough for the overhead presses. :)
