Cathe, I am a long distance runner, and I do additional cardio workout at a Local Gym. I am more interested in a DVD Strength Set that will help me built muscle, get me more tone and cut. A DVD workout series that will work all muscles group. I am not interested in any type of cardio in the video but more in a total body complete workout. In addition, I am not a big fan of step aerobic.
I'll like to get a more advance level dvd workout. I am already taking a Powerflex Class from Bally Total Fitness, which seems very similar to your videos.

What would your recommend from the following?

1) Body Blast Volume 3 - DVD Item #617
Supersets + Push & Pull

2) Power Hour, MIS, Body Max DVD #320

3) Slow & Heavy series DVD #350

4) Pure Strength DVD #340

I already purchased a 55lb yorkbar set, I have a 8lb set of weights, have steps, and a stability ball. What else do you recommend I should get?

I'm not Cathe either (obviously, I'm a guy ;) ) but my favorite strength training workouts are the Slow and Heavy series as well as two that you don't have on your list- Pyramid Upper Body and Pyramid Lower Body. Both of these workouts are excellent for toning and building more muscle, especially the S&H series. All of Cathe's strength workouts are awesome though- you really can't go wrong with any of them!

Good luck!

I'd recommend the Pyramids dvd which isn't on your list, or possibly holding out for the Hard Core series. The Supersets/Push Pull would suit your needs with the premixes on the dvd, but it's been known as one of Cathe's easier strength training dvds as is. The PH/MIS/BodyMax dvd is good, but a great majority of Body Max is cardio, but both PH and MIS are great total body workouts. Pure Strength would be a better option if you wanted a split workout over a few days rather than a one workout total body workout.

MIS (Maximum Intensity Strength) is a good solid full body strength/endurance workout. Or, as someone has already pointed out, hold out for the full body strength workout in the new series.

If you want a strength training I recommend the MIS, PH,BM dvd. In this dvd you have a strength workout MIS, an endurance workout PH and one of the hardest Cathe's workouts Body Max.My favorite strength workouts are the S & H and PLB for the lower body. PUB is great but you must have different weights to use because Cathe`s change the weights lot of times during this workout. I prefer the slow and concentrated manner of S & H too.

Hi rominakm,

I'm also a long distance runner and the wokouts that have really helped me are Muscle Endurance and the Pyramids. I do all 3 during the week.
