still-legged vs bent-legged deadlifts

I was not sure where to put this post - but hope that Cathe or Debbie (fitness freak!) or some other weight-guru will see it. What would you say are the advantages and disadvantages of doing stiff-legged vs bent-legged deadlifts? I have been working hard on form based on DVDs and book descriptions, but honestly while I feel I truly benefit from the stiff-legged, I feel like I am getting almost nothing out of bent-legged except that my knees don't like it at all. I feel like the stiff works my lower back really well, and hamstrings somewhat (my lower back is weaker so I think it tends to dominate), yet the bent-legged I can't seem locate any muscle feeling that feels like it is a good training effort. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I would love to hear what anyone more knowledgeable thinks about this. Thanks in advance!
