stiffness after workouts

Hi Cathe! I've just discovered your videos and love them! My question is about stiffness & soreness. Whenever I do a video that I haven't done in a while - I'm get stiff the next day - which is normal, I think. But with the muscle endurance video I get stiff each time I do it, even if I do it 48 hours apart ( which is what I'm suppose to do I believe) Am I overworking?

Also - I have a bit of cellulite on the back of my legs - do I have any hope of ever getting rid of it by building up my hamstring muscles? Also - what about diet - should I be drinking protein drinks for additional protein?

Thanks for your help!:7

Hi Lynne! Muscle endurance workouts are tough. Your body is simply reacting to the challenge it received during the workout. When you work your muscles very hard you will experience some micro-trauma to the muscle fibers. This causes them to swell temporarily and most often feel stiff until the swelling disappears.

The amount of cellulite one has is determined by genetics. You can certainly make a difference through sensible exercise and clean eating (I always encourgae people to find a qualified registered dietician to find out what the healthiest eating plan is per individual) but if after your hardest effort you still have some cellulite apparent, it may be that you are genetically prone to having it. But don't give up. Even if you are genetically prone to it, you can still make great improvements. It may take a greater effort but you can do it:) Good Luck!
