stevia

i use the powder and wasn't too much of a fan of the liquid. i had to try several brands before finding one that wasn't too bitter for my taste. i found nu-naturals off of amazon and bought it in bulk. i think it tastes the best out of all the brands out there. they even avertise as it being non-bitter.

Skip the skeevia and go straight for the agave nectar. It's nice and sweet like sugar but doesn't taste awful. IMHO, stevia is kinda like Starbucks coffee, it's expensive and supposed to be high brow but I can only find one person who likes it.

Hi Phyllis,
I use SweetLeaf Stevia Plus. It comes in individual packets. I've found if you use too much of Stevia in any form, it may have an odd taste. I use 1/2 packet for a cup of coffee and find it too be sweet enough and tastes good, too. I have not used it for baking, not sure what the equivalent would be for baking.
I started using 1/2 the amount of regular sugar, adding more vanilla extract in baking for sweetness.
Good Luck
Lina

Phyllis let us know how it taste,i want to get off all those sweetners too-just in my coffee alone in the morning im drinking 8pks:eek: Im a sweet freak;-)

IMO the 100% pure Stevia is better. You use less. I do like the stevia but you can't use it for all baked goods. Good thing I don't bake! It works for my bran muffins and sweetening a thing or two hear and there. I get mine from Trader Joe's.

After reading this thread, I must grab some nectar this weekend and see how it works! Thanks!
