Step Ups with Bands

I love doing step ups but I have been doing them for years (first with the Firm and then with Cathe) and never felt them in my butt. It's usually more in my quads no matter how perfect my form is. But now that I have done them using the bands I feel them right where I want to where the hamstring meets the cheek!! Yipee!! Maybe there is a shelf in my future?

I have used them once in Muscle Max and for the first time EVER my backside was sore! It was with the band and on the club step with a very small range of motion and I felt it for DAYS! Leg press in Muscle Enduarnce and Firm workouts...I'll use 40 pounds, sometimes 50 pounds and not sore at all! Drove me nuts! I am hoping for a shelf too!
 
Sarah--I saw your picture and I think you already have a shelf. You look marvelous!! Anyway this is so exciting to me. I think I will use the band for step ups from now on.

I agree with everyone, the band helps feel it in the buttocks/ham area. I have to go slower than Cathe does, I get very winded. I do about 12-14 for Cathe's 16 reps.
