Step question

What kind of step do you all use? I just bought one that I thought was supposed to be like the one in Cathe's videos, but it is the home version, so it is shorter - only a little over 2' long. If you use the larger version of the step - where did you get it and how much did it cost?

Thanks,
Amy

Hi Amy,

I have the club version of the original step. I am pretty sure that I ordered off the links page to the step company. I think it cost around $70.00. Wow, it's been awhile. Go to the nearest Goodwill or Salvation Army store. Garage sales and second hand sporting good stores have some that are steals, dumped off by those that had good intentions and no follow-thru. The club step really made a difference for me.

I originally bought the shorter version at my local Wal-Mart but decided I needed the full size club step. They did not sell it any local stores for a decent price, so I bought my online at Walmart.com. If you do not mind the colors (it is not the gray one) it was the cheapest I could find. I did not buy the version with the workout (already had all my Cathe's) so it was an even better deal. Good luck with your search! You will enjoy the full size much more; I was always paranoid I was going to fly off the step and crash into something so I never seemed to be able to enjoy the workouts:-(

Just wanted to let you know that there's one on sale on ebay now for $30.00 and it comes with the video, it's actually at $9.99 and you could try bidding on it for less, but it has the "Buy it now" option for $30.00. There's still about 2 days and 22 hours left in the auction. If not, I second the advice to get out to the local Salvation Armies, Goodwills, Second Hand shops, etc. I just bought a club step at my local Salvation Army for $2.50. Good luck!
Here's the link to the step:

i have the club version in black/gray that i bought at fitness1st.com.

i bought the home size at walmart.. used it a couple times and returned it! i love the club sized version!

Just a suggestion - before you buy another step, try the shorter one. Because of space limitations, that's all I have ever used at home. I used to work out at the gym using the longer step, and I honestly can't tell any difference in heart rate or effectiveness. Especially with Cathe's workouts - you get your heart rate up with power moves which is an upward movement, so the smaller step doesn't put you at a disadvantage.

I have a Reebok step I bought at Dick's Sporting goods. They had two different lengths and of course I got the long one.Best fitness purchase I've ever made!! LOVE it! You don't have to mess around with putting together risers or taking them apart. Just prop it up against the wall to put it away. It is just wonderful. Ok...so I'm a sillyn goose getting this psyched over a step!! :+

I have both the Reebok Step and The Original Health Club Step. They both are fine, but I like using the health club step better. It is longer and gives me more room to lay on for weight work. If I had a choince between the two, I would go for the Original by The Step co.. I purchased mine at Walmart for a decent price. I think it was around 57.00??

Aila:)
