Step length problem

I may be the only uncoordinated person out there with this problem, but I have the same step Cathe uses in the videos and find that whenever she does a move that requires walking around the step, it seems that the step is too long for me to fully get around in time. I've had the step for a long time and have always had this problem. I'm only 5'2, (same as Cathe I believe), so this shouldn't be a problem, but it is. Does anyone out there know of a step that is long enough to use for Cathe's step work but maybe just a bit shorter than her step?

Thanks in advance.

Alternatively, when Cathe walks, do triples around the board in time to the music as featured in Rhythmic Step and the newer Stap Blast. It should get you there at the same time as her. Often when I struggle to catch up with her fast walks, and I am 5'8"!!!, I insert a spin at the corner rather than just keep walking straight, and it gets me there at the same time, plus I just like spins, slighty more graceful than plain walking.

I too have seen the shorter steps online and wondered how they would be for a intense workout...are they long enough to get the job done or would you fall from not having a large enough platform and trip over your own feet?

Anyone using one of the shorter length steps?

Hi, I use the Reebok step and have no problems at all. I havent had to change or modify anything. And if it makes you feel any better I too have a problem matching cathe around the step. Doing triples or a spin is a good tip that I am going to try today, she seems quicker then ever in Rhythmic step! Have a great day, Carolyn

I use the Reebok step too but prior to that, I had a shorter step and it was difficult to use! Pre-Cathe, I had a Jane Fonda step and it was about a foot and a half to two feet shorter. I had to change different routines and really had a hard time doing anything other than basic step on it. I'd NEVER be able to do a Cathe video on it. You may just try those triples around or create a fun step of your own to get you there!
