Step Blast vs. The Imaxes

Step Blast has a steady state portion (you do three routines first), then a blast challenge where you repeat the routines you've just done all in one go followed by a short blast section. You do that three times (I think) with a blast in between each turn.

It's quite different to the Imaxes which are step/blast/step/blast all the way through.

Hope that makes sense!

I think Step Blast is great - I have to stop myself doing it too much and deliberately choose something else instead.

I just pulled this one out this morning & it kicked my butt! I forgot how intense it is.

For anyone interested, it burns about 100 more calories than IMAX2 & 3 (haven't monitored the first IMAX yet b/c I dread that workout so much  ).

Yes, Step Blast is a calorie burner. I just did it on an 8" step last week and burned 488 calories. I only do IMAX 3 on a 6" step and I burn an average of 421 calories. These are two of my all-time favorites. They are both really intense. IMAX 2 I burn an average of 407 calories. IMAX 1 about 416. I had started to do IMAX 1 on 8" as well. I find IMAX 1 and 3 to be about the same level and IMAX 2 the easiest of the three (not to say that it's easy). I don't think I would ever do IMAX 3 on 8" because of the choreography and the intensity. Even though Step Blast only has the blasts at the end, it is quite a challenge after running through all the step combos.

Thank you everyone for the input!! I would have never guessed that Step Blast would be just as (if not more) intense then the Imaxes.

Looks like this one is next on my list!!!!

I did the Step Jump and Pump/HiLo/Step Blast premix once (90min., I believe it was). I didn't realize what I was in for. I think I saw stars by the final blast.

I love Step Blast and Step Jump and Pump workouts. They are so much fun. I'd love to see a number 2 of this dvd.:)
