Stem Cell Therapy Treatments

Has anyone heard of or know anyone that has had stem cell therapy done. I have severe osteoarthritis in my left hip and have no cartilage left. I've been doing some research online and stem cell therapy is an alternative to hip replacement or knee replacement. As of now, it is not covered under insurance. I'd be willing to pay the money if the results are good. I'd rather have my body help heal itself than to have metal put inside of me. I would love to talk to someone that has already had this done.
