Okay, I got these last week and tried them for the first time yesterday and I LOVE THEM!!!

I had a problem with the texture of regular oats (too gummy or something) but these are fantastic and I love the way they taste:) I'm eating some right now for a snack, with a bit of soy milk and some raisins.

Thanks to everyone who recommended these!

Where do you get them at? Do you have to go to a speciality store or could I get them an whole foods?

TIA

Terri

I get mine from Trader Joe's or Wild Oats. I have never seen them at Walmart or other grociery stores, maybe others have...?

Ok, so I was at my local grocery store and went to get more Steal cut oats and they were sold out! I've never had that happen before, but I was pretty upset about it. I just mumbled under my breathe, "well Opra, thanks a lot!". Because of that show with the doctor that showed the organs. He recommended Steal cut oats and then Opra commented that she likes them the best, or something along those lines. Yeah, now I'm having a hard time finding them. Sigh, oh well, I will just have to go back during the week instead of the weekend and try again.

I am about to eat the last of my oatmeal...I think I'll have to look for Steel Cut Oats in my grocery store today. All of this talk about them is makin' me want to try them!!!:)

Shelley , try them with some almonds and a tsp of natural peanut butter in the morning. I also slice a banana in there. Fantastic breakfast and super filling. Karen

>I think they're called McCann's Irish Oats. Something like
>that. The box is white and black and silver-ish.

Those are my FAVORITE!

I agree about the texture of rolled oats: way too mushy for me. I LOVE the texture of steel cut oats.

Okay, I'm definitely trying the banana peanut butter combo.

I got them at my regular grocery store and I've seen them tons of places.

I have been hooked on these for years! Welcome aboard Shelly!

Look around and see if you can find them in bulk somewhere. Much cheaper! McCanns is good, but pricy. I actually buy mine through Mountain Peoples Warehouse. A 25 pound bag is about 11 bucks. You can find them cheaper guaranteed if you have a health food store that sells in bulk.

Okay...steel cut oats are now on this weeks grocery list. I'll be sure to start the "Steel Cut Oats Appreciation Thread No. 389895894 ASAP!
