Starting again

I have been working out only 1 or 2 x's a week for sometime now. I always try to start a rotation and poop out. I have been coming to the boards again and getting myself more motivated.
How do you all keep yourself so motivated. I dont have any children, so I don;t really have an excuse.
Any motivational tips would be great. Thanks,
Lizzy

Come on guys we can help Lizzy out.

I'll start. Find some workouts that are fun and that make you feel energized. This might keep you coming back. Once you form a habbit, working out will get easier. Don't worry about following a rotation right now. Some people never get into rotations.

Please someone else chime in.

Goodluck on your workout journey,

Do just a little if you can't make yourself do the whole thing. Just do say, abs and triceps. After you start, you often find you will continue.

Don't focus in your head. Focus in your body, so you won't be so bored.

I motivate myself with fear too. (Beware this doesn't work for everyone) I think of what I will feel like and look like if I don't. All that hard work will go down the proverbial drain.

Vary your workouts, make it intense and watch your form.

It feels great when it's over. Make a ritual out of filling in a journal or marking a calendar.

Hi Lizzy,

I have motivation issues, too, and I don't have excuses either! I like Mogambo's suggestion of doing just a bit. I find that if I tell myself I'm going to do half of a workout instead of the entire thing, I feel way more accomplished than if I set out to do the whole and finish only half. It's all mind games lol...

Set short and long term goals and give yourself rewards along the way. Nothing fattening though! LOL!:) In a very short time, it will be part of your routine and you'll feel funky if you DON't do it! Make a plan so you will have at least arough idea of what's on the agenda and then just do it! Or part of it. Join a check in here in the forums. Make yourself accountable! Getting started can be the hardest part so know you will do SOMETHING. Lay out your workout clothes and get them on. You'll feel silly if you talk yourself out of it! And know that it is the best thing for you and you are worth the effort!
