Started bleeding again

On Wednesday I was feeling great and looking forward to working out that evening but a couple of hours after posting of my intention to start working out again I started bleeding quite heavily while at work.

I was rushed off to hospital but I couldnt have a scan as the department was closed so a doctor performed an internal whereby he could only give me a 50/50 chance that the baby was still there. The fact that I had absolutely no pain or blood clots was positive. Anyway, 2 days later I had that much needed scan and the baby is OK. Huge sigh of relief! I burst into tears when they confirmed all was OK. What had happened was that the womb splits in two, the baby attaches to one half and the other half...mother nature just disposes of. It's quite common apparently - not that that's much comfort, I can tell you.

So, all's OK but I've been told to take it easy now for a month. Unfortunately tho the doctor didn't say I should stay off work. Drat :-(

Some things are sent to try us and I can only thank God for answering my desperate prayers.

Oh! I feel for you! That must have been an awful couple of days. I'm so thankful for you that baby's okay. NO EXERCISING for you for until your dr gives you the okay, right? YOu and your baby are in my prayers. :)

Exactly, no exercise for me for a while and it's killing me but I'll not succumb to temptation, besides which my DVD player broke down on Thursday so it looks like someone up there is looking after my interests :)

Don't worry about missing workouts. With my first two, I was so sick that I didn't start working out until 18 weeks. I still did great and felt super fit after I delivered both. You will be just fine taking this very important time off.

I'm happy to hear that all is well now for you and your little one!

I had a similar scare at 13 weeks. I started bleeding on a Friday afternoon (and had cramps). We went to the hospital that evening to check it out and they found the babies heart beat without any problems. They thought I was going to miscarry so they said bed rest for the weekend. The following Monday, I saw my regular doctor and again everything checked out ok. My doctor recommended that I not workout for a couple of weeks. I waited about 3 weeks before exercising again. My workouts once I was back were nothing super intense and fortunately, there has been no bleeding since (that was 12 weeks ago).

Don't worry about the workouts - the month will fly and you will be back before you know it. As someone who doesn't have the cleanest diet in the world, may I offer some advice? Be careful what you eat while you are off. I was not watching my calories in versus calories out and have now realized that was not so great because it contributed to my current my back-end spread.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and hope all goes well.

That's very sound advice Christy!

I've just bought some crisps (potato chips?) which have now gone in the bin! Damn, they tasted so good too...Thai Sweet Chilli...
