Please could I have some info on squats, what to do, what not to do, and how to do them effectively without injuring one's knees ?
I used to be able to do them better when there was less of me (I am going back 7 years !).
Its Babs I would say you need to squat down only as far as is comfortable with you your knee should not be over you toes and you should not squat lower than you knees i.e. when you go down keep you butt higher than your knees. You might find like I did when I started squatting that you can't go down too far or that you might not be able to stay down to long but you will develop if you keep at it.
Anyway how are you I got some new trainers today for working out (I dont wear them otherwise) also I saw your post about chest mine did go down the first time I got in shape this time round I have lost a few inches. My chest grew after coming of some medication (what a drag) I hate having a large chest but as I said they have gone down and hopefully if I lose weight that should continue.
How did you get on with the catalogue did you see anything you wanted to order? or have you ordered? Love your post on movies re: muscials could I put a vote in for West Side Story.
I've seen several sources that recommend keeping your toes pointed slightly out during a squat, rather than forward. Everyone has there own perfect angle, so experiment a bit with low weight to see what your perfect angle is (around 45-degrees more-or-less is suggested).
