Spring into Summer--weekend edition May 22-23

Hello everyone! I wanted to check-in before we left but it was CRAZY getting everything in order. We had a great time in Mexico, but it is good to be home. The boys loved it, we had some great experiences and "adventures", and fortunately the boys didn't get sick. I got a little tummy upset, but not until the day before we left. I sure miss the sun and heat, though! It's cold and rainy up here! But we're all kind of wiped out and the rain cancelled all of the baseball games today, so we're just hanging out and recovering from the vacation.

I don't know if I'll visit Cathe today or wait until Monday. Any ideas for me on a rotation? I thought about going back to the M&F Hers 8 week rotation I was doing before I left and continuing with the HIIT. However I do have a 200 mile bike ride coming up in July, so focusing on that will be my next goal. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Hi ladies. Hope you all are having a great weekend. We started ours with Shrek 2, and I think my inner child had a bigger ball with it than my almost-4-year-old boy. The animation was amazing! The way Prince Charming's hair moved, the skintones, the water showing
Shrek's reflection... all so realistic.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for my oatmeal to dissolve a bit before I hit the weights. I want to do chest and back. Not sure if I'm doing MIS and PH chest and back, or PS and MIS... I'll see how much I can take.

Later,

Just finished reading all of the "back issues" of Spring into Summer. Everyone is really busy! I had forgotten so much of what everyone was up to, so now I feel caught up.

I thought about lifting tonight, but I just don't have it in me. Monday will be the day, but probably cycling. I've got to ride at least 3 days a week for the next 2 months to get ready.

Well, time for bed...we're all turning in early tonight!

p.s. I say, "I'm gonna visit Cathe" to my boys when I go upstairs to workout (just in case my words confused anyone...no, I'm not going to Jersey!)

Good morning ladies,

Today will be cardio, a combo of the SB challenge and intervals + the SJP step and hi/lo premix. This way I don't have to switch discs while I'm working out. This combo will also get my heart rate up without pounding on my knees too much, unlike IMAX 2, which I would be doing if I didn't have crappy knees.

Slept for almost 12 straight hours last night after doing PS and MIS chest and back yesterday. I lifted as heavy as I could. I managed 50 lbs. for bench press during PS, but had to go down 10 lbs. in MIS. The same with back -- I had to lighten by the time I had to do the MIS routine. This was a good workout. Even though my body was used to the moves, it wasn't used to doing these two workouts back to back, and now I have a very nice, very mild sore in my chest and back. Shoulders and arms will have to wait 'til Monday.

Cindee, I don't really know what a great rotation would be for you as we all have different goals... How does one prepare for a 200 mile bike ride? Wow! I'm impressed! My idea of a race is getting through one chore and errand to another during the course of the day, without having to add one item on today's to-do list to tomorrow's.:)

Have a great day, everyone.

Hi everyone,

Had a hectic day yesterday as I was the co-host of a bridal shower for one of my dearest friends. Got up early to get my workout in (CTX Kickbox) and then had to pick up last night things and get to the shower early to help set up. It was really lovely but man, was I tired when all was said and done.

This morning was CTX Step and Intervals. So my CTX week is rapped up and it's on to next week. I was supposed to start with Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders but will either postpone until later in the week or substitute with PLB. My left quad is much better (still a touch tight feeling) but S & H Legs has all those pre exhausted sets of lunges which is when I seem to feel my quad the most. Pinky, thanks for asking about my leg. It's doing much better.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Shrek 2, Pinky. I have to see this movie soon. I am very intrigued by Puss n Boots as I love Antonio Banderas and of course, cats.

Cindee, WOW! A two hundred mile bike ride. What event is this for? Glad you had a great time in Mexico!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

It's the Seattle to Portland bike ride. We're doing it over two days but many people do it in one (Ack!! no way!). DH and I plus my bro-in-law and a couple other folks will be riding together. I don't know how to train for this, either, except riding and increasing my milage every time. I found out today that DH signed us up for a 100 km ride in two weeks so I feel kind of under the gun. I'm definately riding tomorrow! I think I'm going to ride for cardio and try to fit in lifting for each body part once or twice a week. I'll keep you posted as this will be an experiment!
