Spring into Summer check in - 5/3

Good morning my fellow checkin mates.

Just finished the Imax 2 blast mania premix w/ Step , Jump & Pump abs I am feeling so happy as I was feeling down om myself for not working out the past 10 days.

It's funny how I can beat myself up over feeling guilty for not working out but I always seem to take rest days when I can no longer push my body due to over working it. Amazing how my body feels this morning. Energetic and refreshed I honestly need to listen to my body more and not berate myself when I need the rest.

We are having tons of rain here and the sun is not out ...I need that bright sun to feel better mentally but the flowers need it eh?

I have no idea what is on schedule for tommorow. I'm not following Cathe's may rotation but I'm working on my own and since I just love Imax 2 well I just had to do it to get me back on my workouts.

Gotta go clean up this house of mine so I hope to see you all later here.
 
Hello Shywolf! Glad to hear you had a good workout this morning. Just try to stick with it now, and of course rest days are key.

I'm not doing Cathe's May rotation either. I'm going to do heavy weights/one body part a day for weeks 1 and 3, then, weeks 2 and 4, muscle endurance. Including 4-5 cardio workouts mixed in.

This morning I did Legs and Abs. PS Legs, standing, SH Legs, PLB stability ball. Abs - PUB, PS L&A.
I have a friend arriving in Albany today, so I might go out tonight. If not, I may do cardio.

I REALLY want CTX for Mother's Day. I keep telling my son (who's 4) ~ hoping he'll tell Daddy.

Yesterday I did Power Hour, my lats feel it today.

Hi everyone,

For the month of May I am following the May 2003 rotation. Cathe called it the variety training rotation and it calls for a little of this, a little of that, and is very substitution friendly which is good because I want to incorporate some of my CIA's for cardio.

Anyway, today was Body Max. WOW!!!! I was a bit uncomfortable with the pace of the lower body work during the circuits so I lighten my barbell to 35 lbs. My arms are toast! I washed and waxed my car yesterday afternoon and then Body Max today. OUCH!!!!!x( x( x(

Glad to see that you're back to working out, Shywolf, and that you're enjoying it. Sometimes you need to take some rest days to let yourself regroup and avoid burn out.

Susan- Holy smokes!!! What a workout this morning! I find that the lower body work with the ball on PLB really burns in my shins. Any advice on form pointers or what I'm doing wrong?

May already!!?!?! Can't believe it!

Wow ShyWolf! Way to go on that IMAX2 blast mania premix. I should try that some time. Don't beat yourself up over not having been able to work out for a while. I haven't either. What do you say about you and I trying to get back to our usual routines slowly but surely?

Susan, I hope you do get CTX for Mother's Day. It's a great series.

Sabine, I don't see why the ball burns your shins other than the possibility that you may be putting too much of your body weight on your legs when you roll the ball in. I try to distribute most of my body weight between my upper body (which is why this workout is hard on my shoulders) and my core.

Well, today is lower body. Am thinking of doing CTX-Power Circuits sans the hi/lo portion and the combo portion of KPC.
