Hi everyone,

Didn't get around to posting in the weekend edition so figured I'd start for today.

I'll start things with what I've been doing for the past two weeks.
1st week (ending the 13th)
Monday- Christi's Still Jumpin Just for Fun.
Tuesday- Cathe's Push Pull.
Wednesday- Nothing! Plane left in the AM. Landed in Hawaii around 11:30 am their time. With no bags checked through, sis and I headed straight to the rental car place (hey, this might constitute light jogging here) and were on the road to the resort by 11:50. Stopped for swim fins and made it to the resort by 1:00. By 1:30 both of us were in bikinis and heading for the beach. Got some core work in flipping from front to back and some light cardio with some swimming the water (which was an amazing 84 degrees). Biceps got worked later on hoisting lava flows at the pool side bar.
Thursday- 30 min. HIIT on the recumbent bike. 20 minutes weights on the universal gym. About 10 minutes ab work. Lots of swimming in the ocean and snorkeling around the reefs just off the beach in front of the resort. AMAZING fish and sea turtles!!!!!!!
Friday- Repeated workout from Thursday. Add extra adreneline rush when sis and jumped off the 30 foot 'black rock' into the ocean.
Saturday- All day on a boat going to different snorkel sights on Maui and Lanai'i. Well over 2 hours in the water. Saw spinner dolphins, lots of amazing fish and ocean wild life, and more sea turtles!!!!!
Sunday- Dog tired from yesterday. Took a walk on the beach front path for about an hour. More swimming, snorkeling, and sunning.

Week 2 (ending the 20th)
Monday- 30 min. HIIT on the recumbent bike. 20 minutes weights on the universal gym. 10 minutes abs. More sunning, swimming, snorkeling, and hoisting.
Tuesday- 30 min. HIIT on the treadmill, everything else the same (I might have wimped out on abs this day, either today or Monday).
Wednesday- Tired. Took a walk on the beach front path (opposite direction) for about 45 minutes. Another adreneline rush from parasailing over the Maui/Lanai'i channel! That was such an amazing experience. Other than my sister (we went tandem) who was freaking out a bit, it was incredibly quiet with amazing views of Maui, Lanai'i and Molokai all around!!!!!
Thursday- 30 min. HIIT on recumbent bike. 20 min. weights, 10 min. abs. Quick change in the room and off to the beach for one last snorkel (30 minutes). Fly home (both happy and sad about this) Friday- Exhausted!!!!! Did nothing and slept a lot.
Saturday- Eion Finn's PY4H Strong, Happy, and Free. Started getting very hot during the workout and dizzy right at the end! Later in the day I am sick as a dog! Must have caught something in the recycled air on the plane.
Sunday- Thought I was feeling better so attempted Christi's Solid Gold Step. Made it about 2/3 through before completely overheated and panting. Felt like crap as a drove to my sister's house to hook up with the family for Father's Day.

Today I tried one of my new Slim Series workouts, Tone It Up, because it uses light or no weight. Did pretty good with it. The outer thigh lifts just about killed me. The plie squat sequence was no picnic either. Liked it but didn't LOVE it. May trade some of these and just keep the ones I like as a nice variation to Cathe's style.

Hawaii
I had such an amazing time with my sister I can't even tell you. We had so much fun. It's great that we like to do the same things, get up around the same time, have the same taste in food, etc., so we can share things really easily. The weather was gorgeous the whole time. The temperature was always between 84-89 degrees and on only two days did we even feel the slightest hint of a sprinkle (which felt nice and refreshing). The water was a perfect temperature and the swimming was awesome. About four days into the trip a southern swell kicked in making for some choppier water and poorer visiblity when snorkeling. But a few waves weren't keeping me out of the water! I felt like I lived in my waterproof SPF 30 lotion and a bikini. I got lots of color but didn't really burn except my back was a touch pink after the snorkel boat tour. So I spent the next couple of days in a tank top protecting my back. The food was amazing and even though it was very expensive, my sister and I both agreed that the restaurants were giving generous portions that we could easily share (and that's what we did most often). The drinks, also expensive, were delicious and I pretty much tried one of everything!!!! I don't even want to think about the calories!!!!! My sister's friends were on the island for part of the time we were there so we did some things with them that were a lot of fun. Trip highlights included the boat trip, the parasailing, and this amazing snorkelling experience following two sea turtles through the water. For looking so clunky they are exceptionally graceful. The sites we did see were lovely and I did buy some small trinkets to take home with me. It was TRULY paradise!!!!!

It'll take me a few days to get caught up with everyone. Hope everyone is doing well.

Big hellos to Pinky, Shywolf, Brenda, Joy, Judy, Kathy, Elizabeth, Lisa, Lorihart, Cindee. And big apologies to those I missed! My head is a bit foggy with this cold!

Wow...what a great trip! I can't believe you kept up with such a great workout schedule while on vacation! Now I want to go back to Mexico...:)

DH and I did a 23 mile bike ride last Fri. and we've improved our average speed, and DH is really improving on the hills. It's like he became convinced he could do it and that empowered him. I was sucking air a bit. I think that any ride over 45-60 minutes is more than I can do on just water alone. Next time I'm going to take a Powerbar or something like that for quick carbs. The past couple of days have been incredibly busy as will the next week, but good busy. Sat. and Sun. I just scurried around. Today was the step/hi-lo weight circuit premix from SB/SJP. I'm hoping tomorrow morning I can go on a 17 mile bike ride. As for the rest of the week, I have no idea what I'll have time for...I'll just be playing it by ear.

Hope to hear from everyone else!

Sabine, I am soooo jealous!:p It's great to know you had a wonderful trip, after all the preparations you had to make and the waiting you had to do. Even greater how you managed to get your workouts in. If I had been in such a paradise, I wouldn't be working out. I'll be stuffing myself with coconut drinks and sleeping under the coconut trees on the beach.:)

CinDee, looks like you're training hard for that bike ride. I've been getting my carbs from power bars lately too. My plate's been full, I can't even begin to describe it.

Today I woke up with sore shoulders from yesterday's KPC. Although the soreness was very mild, I still decided to put off the rest of the heavy weight training for tomorrow. I did Step Works instead. I'd forgotten how fun that workout is, especially the second segment.

Later,
Pinky

Sabine, I like your workout week! I'm jealous, I want to workout with my core being flipping from front to back at a beach!LOL!!! I know that you got a lot more than just that in, good for you! Oh, and the drinks in Hawaii, yeah, those are calorie free. Didn't you know that? LOL! Anyway, sound like you had a great trip, next time bring me in your suit case. Just give me about a years notice and I'll start up some yoga so that I can do that, oh and lose about 30 punds so the airlines will accept the suitcase!

Well, ladies, I hope that you all had a great weekend, I didn't have time to read everyones posts, so I apologize for that. This morning I did Rhythmic Step, I love that workout, it's just soo much fun! I didn't do any strength today, but I did get an hour of cardio in, so that isn't bad! I'll do something tomarrow in the area of toning. I just don't know what, it will depend on how I'm feeling as far as that goes. Now, do you see why I cna't follow a rotation, I am definately a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal I guess! Iv'e tried the whole rotation thing, and yeah, that lasted a week! LOL!

Hello everyone,

Sabine, welcome back! Your trip sounds incredible, and I too am impressed with your workouts. We went to the beach at Ocean City, MD this weekend, and while we had the best possible weather, I know it was nothing like Hawaii! I'm sorry you felt sick when you got back, but it sounds like you're feeling better now. By the way, I also just got Slim Series also, and I'm trying to decide how I'll fit it in.

Pinky, I was hoping things might be easing up for you. Just keep up with your workouts, and try to just take things how they come. You have to let us know how things are going with Andrew, and if there's any Pinky-time happening.

I did Lotte Berk Muscle Eats Fat, and High Round Assets today, and Callanetics for Stomach. I was going to do HIIT with the cardio from HSTA, but was too tired from the weekend...hopefully tomorrow!

Hi Cindee and Kathy, and everyone else!
