Spring into Summer - 5/21

Looks like the check in is starting late today!

Good Morning (or afternoon) to everyone.

Yesterday was my day at the elementary school so didn't have a chance to check in. I did read yesterday's posts. Joy, always good to 'see' you and do continue to pop in. I'd miss you if you were gone.

Allergies have been wicked this week. Add on top of that that my left quad is still tight and sore from the pull on Tuesday and I've been having a tough go of it. Late Wednesday I did some yoga, Eoin Finn's Yoga for Happiness: the Quickie workout. Leg was bothering me on Thursday so did Yoga for Happiness: the Magically Hips workout. This felt wonderful!!!! This morning felt up for some cardio so continued with my CTX week and did All Step.

Would love to hear how everyone else is doing today. Anyone going to be around this weekend for a weekend check in?

Hi Sabine,
I'm glad to hear your quad feels better. Your smart to take it easy.

I am so happy to report that I have been doing a rotation for the first time and am seeing real positive results! :) I have passed the "toned" phase and into muscular. When I was lifting this morning I could see all three "heads" to my shoulder and a "horseshoe" in my tricep. My waist has even slimmed. I was going to stop this weekend and do a cardio weight workout each day (like BC, BM, SJP etc) I'm afraid that might make me look "skinny" so I'll stick with this for one more week.
We're on vacation for the week after and I will not be working out ~accept for skating and other outdoor activities.

Pinkey and Sabine, I believe I saw on other posts that you're both considering purchasing the P90X series. Have you decided yet? I'd love to hear what you think of it. Everyone has been getting great results from them.

Did you purchase Cathe's new DVD's? They should be arriving reeeaaal soon. I can't wait! I only purchased the Advanced.

I usually don’t check in on the weekends. So, if not, I'll be back on Monday. Have a great weekend.

I'll check back to see what everyone else is up to.

Good afternoon ladies,

Today is an unplanned rest day. I went to the optometrist for a check-up, hadn't had one in almost 8 years. Well, he dilated my pupils so he could take pictures of the back of my eyes -- wow, I've never seen my optic nerves before... So I've been having this dull headache since the dilation. I will rest today.

Anyway, yesterday I did LL in the morning and MIS upper body only in the afternoon. I did better with LL this time, although at the end (after the hover squats) I stuck with 8-lb. DB's for all quad work. I still got to use 15's for deadlifts. I haven't done MIS in a long time, and doing just upper body takes than an hour, but it is intense. My body has gotten so used to PUB, PS and PH, so doing MIS after so long made me hurt real good. I'm not sore today though.

Sabine, I hope your left quad gets back to normal real soon. Is it still as tight as it was last Tuesday, or is it getting better?

Susan, I AM getting P90X. I'm just not in top form right now, so I'm working back to that, and then I'll get P90X. It seems very tough, and I'm not sure how well I can stick to 3-month rotation. I do get bored easily, but it's worth a try.

Sure I can check in tomorrow and Sunday. I'll be home this weekend, except for SHREK 2, BABY!!!:7 and a trip to the hardwood flooring showroom. My husband and I are more excited about Shrek 2 than our boy (we are such computer generated special effects fanatics -- it goes waaaay back to the first Toy Story, when we were still dating, although for me it goes farther than that, when computer generated films were mere competition material among college geeks), and the hubby's been wanting hardwood floors for a long time, so we're shopping for the best deal.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

HI all! Well, yesteday I went above and beyond the call for working out. I did Keli Roberts Ultimate STep on an 8" step, then I did Power Hour. Needless to say I was very tired last night, Physically at least. Plus I haven't done power hour in a few months and I'm quite sore in my back, tri's and bi's today because of it.
Susan I saw your rotation, but I would have to come up with my own circuit style workouts for the most part because the only one that I own of Cathes is SJP. I traded Body Max a long time ago because at the time it seemed just too hard and I never did it. I want Bootcamp, but haven't had the funds to get it just yet. ( I want it on dvd of course!) Then there is Circuit Max and Cadio and weights that I don't have yet either. Yeah, I'm missing a lot of her workouts just yet. But I am working on it. Seems like I have been avoiding the circuit ones, huh?
Anyway, today I am going ot give Step Heaven a try. I ahve owned it for about a year now and have yet to get teh patience to figure out the second section. I'm hoping that today will be my day and I'll finally have to patience to figure it out. That is the goal for the day. We'll see. But because of my soreness, I'm not willing to put forth a whole lot of effort in an intense cardio. This one from what I can remember isn't intense just very dansy. I liked the first section. Just a bit intimidated by the second. Not any longer though!
WEll, I'm off, you all have a great weekend. I don't tend to workout on the weekend first of all, second I don't get on my computer on the weekend. But Pinky, I'm with you, I'll be seeing Shrek 2 this weekend with Dh and my son. We'll have to compare notes on Monday!
