Ok, so as you know i've been battling with working out in the mornings vs. evenings. So i'm just trying to find a perfect set up for me. I know its not super long, but lately i have been finding that working out for 1hr straight 1)takes a good chunck of time out of the day and 2) i start to get tired at the halfway point so my intensity drops a bit. So I was thinking of splitting my workouts up into 30 minutes of cardio in the a.m. and 30 minutes of weight training in the p.m. I figure waking up 30 minutes earlier to get my cardio in is way better than having to get up 60-90 minutes earlier to get it all in, in the morning before work. Then when i get home, i'm tired but knowing that i ONLY have to do 30 minutes of weight training instead of 60 is no big deal. Plus, even if i don't get to do it till after dinner, i can lift in the living room while watching t.v. with my husband. For whatever reason my husband thinks that i'm not going to like this but i think this sounds good in theory. Do any of you do this? Plus, working out twice boosts your metabolism two times instead of just once. So now i guess i just need to decide how i'm going to split up the muscles and go for it. Here is a couple of examples:
monday: am: 30min run pm: 30 min upper body supersetting
tuesday:am: 30 min elliptical pm: 30 min lower body supersetting and abs
wednesday: am: 30 min interval run pm: rest
thursday: am: 30 min elliptical pm: 30 min upper body and abs
friday: am: 30 min hill fast walk pm: 30 min lower body
or
monday: am:30 min run pm: 30 min chest and tris superset and abs
tuesday: am: 30 min elliptical pm: 30 min legs and shoulders superset
wednesday: am: 30 min run 30 min back and bis superset
thursday:am:30 min interval run pm: rest
friday: am: 30 min uphill walk pm:30 min total body circuit
some of the cardios will be subed out for 30 min of kickboxing to switch it up. so what do you think?
