Spinning Videos

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum, but am an avid Cathe fan. Recently, I've been researching spinning, and am looking for some spinning videos to do at home. I found Phase I and II with Johnny G. at the library, but was wondering if there are any others out there. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks
KrisC

KrisC,

CIA makes one with 2 workouts on the tape based on the Reebok method. Reebok has the Ultimate Island Ride. Keiser has 2 spinning videos. And I have found 1 by Mindy Mylrea called Sport Cycle. There may be more by that's all I found to date.

Thanks Susan and yes

I am still leaning towards the V-bike.

I have been down with that gosh darn flu all week! It stole 4 good rest days from me

..so far. That's what I get for going towards 300 workouts this year LOL! OH WELL, anyway, I came close to calling in the order today just to lift my spirits. I think I will wait another week or two (if I can) till money is in hand

.

I checked out the spinning forum you had a link to and found some good advice and a couple of tips...thanks. But the deciding factor is actually having been able to take a class on it. Wendy and I were in awe of this bike when we walked in to her spinning class and her instructor who teaches in several clubs raves about the V-bike when comparing it to others. Of Course at the time, I never thought I could actually own one myself. Wendys club leads you to believe they cost thousands and thousands to justify the cost of the spinning classes

. It was a pleasent surprise to find the same bike online and affordable

.

I am hoping the fitness industry makes a few more videos for spinners, although I am sure it won't be the biggest market, but one can hope. I am suprised that the V-bike Co. does not have a video. Did you check out their website? They have some big names in their training program they offer....just might be making a few suggestions when placing my order

Cost of V-Bike?

Hi Nancy!

I'm thinking about purchasing a bike for home use, and am curious about the cost of the v-bike. I just checked out their website and it does look really nice! Do you know how it compares to the Reebok cycle? That's the only spinning class I've ever done.

Thanks for the input,
Wendy G.

Hi Wendy

I have not been on the Reebok cycle, but from what I understand, adjusting the tension is different. The V-bike has a knob with no set increments. You adjust up or down to your own level. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Reebok has a lever or a way to set the tension so everyone would have the same level??? In other words, if the instructor says go to level 2...everyone would have the same tension. Don't quote me on that. With the V-bike, you turn the knob till you are comfortable with the pace and tension of spin.

As far as the price of the V-bike, it is $795 and that includes shipping

. Schwinn makes 3 good bikes ranging from 500-800 dollars, so I figure it isn't a bad price. I did spot a Reebok bike for 500(?) at one of the websites Susan told us about, but I didn't really look into it.

If you want to talk with a sales rep about the V-bike, call Julie@1 800 529 4378. She was very helpful.

Hey, the more of us with bikes....the bigger the market for videos...hehehe
