Spinervals Fans Out There?

Cathlete
Hi guys, Just wondering if there any other Spinervals fans out there and which workouts do you like the most? I am building my collection of Spinervals workouts, I really like them. These are the ones I have thus far...

Lean and Mean-Brenda is in this one
Big Gear Strength
Sweating Buckets-least favorite
Enter the Red Zone
Time Trials-do not like this one because they do not give resistance numbers, only the numbers for the older type spin bikes
Aero workouts-these are the steady state workouts over 70 minutes long
Recharge-a recovery workout that is kinda boring

Just wondering if there are any you guys like?

Hey Tneah! I'm a huge Spinervals fan. I like Sweating Buckets - it makes a great circuit with PLB - if you wish to not walk the next day. }( Brenda is also in Enter the Red Zone

I think any of the ones before 10 or so only have the gearing ratios, not the resistance levels, but they're pretty easy to figure out.

I love:

Mental toughness - more steady state, but still tough
The Have Mercy's - they are 2 hours, but you can do parts of them for a great shorter ride - or go all out and do the full two hours.
Hillacious (fun climbing - especially the rolling hills)
Zoot Challenge - short but fun with high spins - I'll often do this one and follow it with the rolling hills from Hillacious
I want the newer spin one as well.
I have the Virtual reality ones (well two of them) and I'm not too impressed.

I have the first Have Mercy and like it a lot - that's one of my favorites.

Another favorite spinning workout of mine is Mindy Mylrea's Cycle Challenge.

I like Spinervals a lot. I have the interval 5-pack (or something like that) and like most that are in this series. I also have Enter the Red Zone and Lean and Mean, which I like.

Muscle Breakdown - Huge sweatfest and a really good workout, though I really tweaked my IT band doing this (quick stops and starts)

I enjoyed No Slackers Allowed (44 min), Zoot Challenge (40 min), and Suffer O Rama )53 min too. I didn't write down why though.

I also have the Iron Girl spinning workout but haven't used it yet.

I do enjoy these interval workouts, but I think I need some more of the steady state workouts. Do you have any recommendations for these workouts?

Karin,

I think the Aero-builder 3 pack set is all about the steady state workout. They are longer in length 80-70 minutes, then the third DVD is like two hours long! I have no interest in doing anything for 2 hours straight, plus I have noticed my sciatic nerve gets really testy if I ride too long or too much.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am really loving my bike, I am starting to get a better butt and leaner legs!:D

How many times a week do you ride? I have fallen off of the spinerval wagon and want to get back on it. I also am enjoying TaeBo and walking. Just not sure how to fit it all in.

Hi there friend!

Another vote for Zoot Challange. Also, I have a video called Precious Cycling, and it is great, hills + intervals, the only problem (little problem) is that it is a video not a DVD. What kind of a spinning bike you have?

Hey Macska!:7 How's my "hippy" friend?

I have the V-spin bike, I ordered it online and a friend assembled it. It is good quality, and for months I would only use it once or twice, but since discovering Spinervals have been riding at least three times per week...I like what it is doing for my lower body and my endurance, I am finding that doing the Imax workouts easier since I have been spinning as my muscle endurance has increased!:) I know we are not supposed to do plyo stuff, but I still do (within reason of course!)

I will have to get the Zoot Challenge! Take care, I always look for your posts.:)

Do you have to have the bikes like in Spinning classes for these workouts I only have a recumbent. Do any of you own a spin bike how much do they run. I loved spinning class but I would rather own one than pay the money every time I want to go.

You can adapt the workout to the recumbant, but a lot of what he has you do are standing exercises which would not translate to a recumbent.

A good quality spin bike is around $1000. You can get them cheaper, but I've heard many of the cheaper bikes have stability issues. If you go to test them out, ride the heck of any you are considering to really see how it holds up.

If you have a road bike you can pick up a trainer that would work with your bike for $200.

Not to show my ignorance here but I have a Schwinn Bike. What is a trainer? I am going to assume it is a divice to hold the bike up so it is stationary.>

Thank you
