spider vein removal

Has anyone gone through laser procedures to remove spider veins from their legs? I have been considering checking into this, but wonder if it is futile; does it take forever to get most of them, too costly, etc. Just wondering if anyone has any opinion.

I had thought about this too, but now I think I'm going to try the natural route. Probably will try VASKO. I'll keep you posted whether or not it works.

I had the ones on my face (around the nose, chin area, etc.) removed about 3 years ago. It's expensive, useless, and extremely painful. The thing about removing spider veins with laser is that the laser eliminates the ones you got now, but you will see some new ones appearing again (even the ones the laser "eliminates" can fill with blood again). I am extremely pale and the spider veins I have are really visible (the ones on my face I cover with really good concealers, but I have no way to cover the ones on my legs). If I ever find a solution to finally get rid of them I'd be glad.

Hi Darla,
My sister is a dermatologist (comes in handy). When she was in med school, she injected my spider veins with saline solution (sclerotherapy sp?). It hurt like heck, and it didn't work. I had to wear an ace bandage over the site of the injections for a while-it helps to make sure they go away. Now that she is a full-fledged derm, she has a laser at her office, and has lasered them a few times. It hurts a lot (like a rubberband being pulled and snapped on skin), but it works a lot better. Because it is so painful (even with Lidocaine to numb the area), I go back once or twice a year for her to zap more of them. I have noticed a big difference with the laser, and I would say that for a short time of pain, it is worth it.
